The clarity seems to really interest people! I didn't do anything special. But I can give you some technical info ..
The video camera was a Sony Handicam with a Carl Zeiss lense.
I transferred it into iMovie (an older version, not iMovie HD), and later compressed it with QuickTime, selecting CD-ROM compression which made it 15 frames per sec and 320x240 size.
