  • Lol you seem nervous!

  • Is it ok to keep you pet rabbit in a shed because i am getting a 3 month old rabbit for Christmas and i don't what it to be in any danger.

  • Rabbits can be outside because wild rabbits can so why can't pet rabbits be outside? I've had my rabbit for 3 years and when it was snowing they're kept outside... But I want them in when it snows but my mum says they are fine if you have lots and lots of hay, and blankets...

  • The problem with keeping them outside in most cases isn't weather, it's the amount of space and interaction they get. For most people, it's hard to make sure they get enough exercise and attention if they're outside. You need a lot of space if you want to make them an outdoor play area that's big enough to run and play in but is safe from wild animals, and you need to spend a lot of time outside with them. For most people, it's easier to take good care of them inside.

  • well i have rabbits that are about a year old and i keep them in a cage out-side is that okay?

  • Ok guys this is what i do i get a big cage i only let my bunny in there at night when its time to sleep (i also out water and food in the cage) then when its morning i let it out in my house to run around. Then in the afternoon i let it out in my backyard for a hour for extercise. Then i take my bunny back inside my house and then when its night back to the cage. (DONT FORGET TO PUT FOOD AND WATER IN THE HOUSE WERE IT WILL RUN AROUND)

  • @AlextheGreat011 wow taking care of 2 rabbits is nothing i have to take care of 6 by MYSELF!

  • We have a cage we built that is 7foot by 4foot outside in a shady pin/chicken coop thing ..............so they r safe.....but during the day they r up in my house...and in the cage at night

  • I just got one today. My dad was at a friends house and they droped it off right on the stream so he picked him up. Not sure if we are going to keep her. Im not sure how old she is but she looks about 7-9 weeks and is about 1.5 - 2 pounds.

  • Sometimes you can get rabbits from people who breed them at their home.

  • I'm getting two 9 week old mini lop rabbits, one boy and one girl (brother and sister, but still have to get neutered and spayed!) It is always best to try and get them from the same litter as they have grown up together so they're already bonded. Mine are gonna live outside in a secure and big hutch, we're also wiring off all entrances that foxes and cats can get through... not that they could through the strong wire. Can't believe how delicate and friendly they are! <3

  • WTF? Rabbit's are recommended to live inside?

That's bullshit. Rabbits live outside in nature. Rabbits belong sitting outside with a buddy. Male + female is the best combination

  • @grassmover99 You're really stupid. Haha. There's a difference between Domestic rabbits and while cotton tails that people see running around outside. Obviously, people should let the rabbits run around outside of occasion, but letting them live outside is not a good thing.

  • @xDrzc49 Why not? Why not let them live outside. What's the reason?

    Tell me that!

  • @grassmover99 Oh gee I don't know.... WEATHER, PREDATORS, FRIGHTS.

It could get too hot or too cold, which isn't good for them, Dogs, cats and Coyotes could try to break the cage and get in and if it does spook the rabbit that's not good. Rabbits can DIE from being scare to death. Learn your shit please before you say something. No domesticated animal should live outside.

  • @xDrzc49 I know rabbits, thank you...

Weather: Put them in a dry cage, nothing is wrong.

Predators: No predator can get into a strong wooden rabbit hutch... I don't say you have to put them in plastic crap! Plus, there are no coyotes in the Netherlands...

Frights: Where should they be afraid off? Cats? A Dove? They can be frightend in a house to! That's not why you should not put them outside!

  • @grassmover99 And what if it is hot? What if it is raining? Snowing?

And you would be surprised. Yes would be afraid of cat or a dog.

  • @xDrzc49 If it's raining, they would be dry in there cage. If it is hot, you put a frozen bottle of water, wrapped in a towel (!) in there cage. If they get to hot, they can cool up. If it is snowing, they have a nice coat of fur to keep them warm...

Yes they could be afraid of a dog or cat. But they can even be afraid if they diddent here you comming!!

  • @grassmover99 And what if it rains in an angle and water gets in their cage?A rabbit's fur doesn't keep them that warm. Even when they're inside they prefer to have a heat pad inside of their cage for extra warmth and a frozen bottle of water isn't going to keep them that cool. They're not going to know to lean against it and a frozen bottle of water doesn't produce enough cool heat to fill a cage if it is hot. It'll just melt within 30 minutes. Basically, don't leave a domesticated animal outside

  • @xDrzc49 It has to be a 90 degree angle to wetten up te whole cage. That NEVER happens, so they can easely go to a dry place in there cage. They can wash thereselfs dry there, en believe me, they will! En rabbit fur really keeps them warm. They can be outside with extreme cold temperatures. But not with extreme heats. If the waterbottle melts, there are other ways to keep them cool. Like a wet tile. I know it sound stupid, but ik will work! And shadow. Be sure there's enought shadow!

  • @xDrzc49 Wait, a heat pad? They don't need that! They can be outside at minus 20 degree celsius. En also keep themselfs warm with that temperatures!

  • @grassmover99 Rabbits prefer to have heat pads. Deal with that fact. What's the point of having a bunny if it's not going to be happy?

  • @xDrzc49 The problem is, they don't NEED a heat pad. And a bunny without a heat-pad, you say hi's not happy?

  • @grassmover99 It would make them HAPPIER.

And plus, read any website about caring for bunnies and go to a vet. They would NOT advise a person to keep their rabbit in an outdoor rabbit hutch.

  • @xDrzc49 Maybe not where you come from, but here in the Netherlands they DO advise to keep them outside.

  • Looks like Sara forgot to memorize.

  • i want one but i love in a crappy apartment...and very small too

  • Is it a good idea to keep a bunny in your bed room in a cage ??

  • is it normal for your baby bunny to shake and breath fast

  • I have 4 bunnies at home :D

  • sarah you need to get laid!

  • i had a bunny... it was outside in a cage and it opened it somehow and dug a hole and left :'(

  • Blue Dutch Rabbits are awesome~!!~!!~!!~

  • But if you think about it crazy woman, Rabbits live naturally outdoors.

  • I absolutely adore bunnies :) They are soooo cute! :3 I have two of them. I wuv you Anica and Cottontail :P

  • Comment removed

  • i would love to keep my rabbit indoors, unfortunately, my parents dont agree and so i have to keep her in a run/hutch outside :L

  • I can't get a bunny :(. I had one, but then my stupid cats kept trying to attack her. We went out to eat came back to see the bunny cage was tipped over and on the floor ( its on my dresser ) Luckily she was still alive and is in my cousins care. Ill never forgive my cat for doing that.. now i can never have a bunny :(

  • @lilmoonprincess125 Animals are irrational, it didn't do it because it wanted to be mean, it didn't because to him that's just how it goes, it can't possibly imagine that it'll make you mad or hurt an animal on purpose. The good thing is that your bunny is okay, don't resent your cat for what it did :)

  • im getting a rabbit for my 12th birthday =]

  • i keep my rabbit outside O.O but he iz vaccinated all the time from diseases, and we keep him in the garage at winter O.o

  • My brother built an outdoor enclosure for our rabbit. He took our cage wire cage and took off one of the end walls. He then attached it to a hole in his homemade wood encloseure, makeing the cage an outdoor feeding area. The wood part had a latched flap in the back so we could take her out from there. Also there was loft and ramp for her to have a second floor. Her bedding was a soft straw that she LOVED!!

  • Thx 4 the help. I have pet bunny and that really helped me out. Takeing care of 2 bunnys is hard!!!

  • whats wrong with his leg

  • im getting a rab for birthweek

  • You guys! People who say that your shouldn't buy rabbits from the Pet Store and get them at the shelter because the ones at the shelter needs to be rescued, the ones at the pet shop needs to be saved too! So plz be nice to all rabbits and not just the ones in a certain place. D:

  • @MsKaylaSweet9 a week before my 15th birthday i got my rabbit from a rescue. but technichnicly she was owned by pets mart. so we went to the rabbit resedue just me and my big sis. and i called my mom and ask her if i could get a rabbit at first she said no then i seid please i promiss to take full rasponsabillity for it. and she said okay. and thats how i got my rabbit. oh yes the said thing was that she was abused the sunday before easter. but i rescued her happyly ever after in a safe home.

  • @lillypad551

  • im getting a rabbit but my parents are making me keep it outside :( we live by woods FILLED with cyotes and i dont know what to do :(

  • @XxTaterXTotxX

  • Rabbits are so unhappy in a cage, please people think about it before you adopt one. ;)

  • i love u sarah!

  • try to keep them with a place that the family mostly is.

We got my bunny because she felt neglected from her older owners, she was kept alone in the basment for the first 2 years of her life. She is in our living room, and we can always go in and pet her, anything to show her that she is part of ou family :)

  • My friend has a rabbit that's outside in a cage all year round but it has almost like a dog house inside the cage. Ah, I feel so bad for the rabbit. Totally in the back yard by itself D:

  • Could a rabbit have yard access if it was able to go inside anytime like through a dog door?

Would a rabbit not be smart enough to get out of heat or rain?

  • whats a dog pin and were can i find one? plz help

  • Can I have a bunny living freely in the house like a dog or a cat? :)

  • yes you can. my bunny is a very happy house bunny who lives freely in the house. he follows me everywhere and even greets me when i get home from work - i think he actually thinks that he`s a dog!

  • i suppose you have to block up a lot of places though???

  • @aljammck - we have to make sure that there are no wires at bunny level!!

  • @MarikoPon you can but you wanna litter train it so you wont have feces freely in your house lol

also at night just keep them in a cage or an area since when your sleeping you don't know what they are up to they can get caught in things and get in trouble

i got a rabbit yestarday and thats what im planning to do but im gonna build my trust with it before i let it run around

  • Sarah you helped me alot <3

  • shes boring.....

  • Hello i have a 4 year old rabbit. Currenty i have a really bad cold and was not sure if my cold could be transmitted to my little fur-ball. And info you may have would be loved by the both of us.

  • My brother is going to buy one some time this week. I cant wait! Were getting a white bunny rabbit. yay!

  • please dont buy a bunny at a pet store! you dont know how they got to the pet store. and you wouldnt want to know how!! please no one buy it at a pet store!! =(

  • @winniepooh1396 Actually I will. Sorry, but if you're rabbit is sick or (Dead) you can go back to the pet store and they will take care of your rabbit, and you will get money back. And, no, I am not saying it's about the money, but I would rather know that the rabbit is healthy and approved.

  • @Ifzaal7 im getting a rabbit this weekend on sat.!!! :D

  • @Ifzaal7 OMG same thing with me! getting one this week its gonna be white xD

  • Bunnies are so cute.

  • i have a question... is it ok to give a rabbit a bath? some people do it others say don't do it. what should i do????????

  • Rabbits are cleanly animals to begin with. Unless they contract fleas from other household pets or become INCREDIBLY dirty, no cleaning regiment other than the one used to clean their surroundings (cage, litter box, water bottle etc) is necessary. Giving them baths can stress them out incredibly.

  • i was wondering if i could use this video in my girl scout power point

  • i want a rabbit

  • if you've never had one before, trust me, they're a lot of work, although it might not seem that way

  • lol me 2!!

  • GAH im taking care of my friends bunny for a week. my mom says keep it in the garage.... i heard that noise kills bunnys sometimes. my neighbor has a retarded barking mutt that barks at night. wut do i do T.T >.> im screwed

  • Sudden loud noise can frighten rabbit especially when they are in unfamiliar places. There are cases where rabbits actually died from extreme fright/shock.

Why not keep him in the living room, kitchen area or bathroom. Just make sure you block any holes, keep those bottles of chemicals away and have the toilet bowl lid down if you keep the rabbit in the bathroom.

  • @xxmikkaxx make sure it has a place to hide .. i suppose your keeping it in a cage in the garage ? make it a little house so it can hide in case its cold or scared

i got a rabbit yesterday and the house is really noisy but it didnt seem to care at all .. my big labrador was barking like crazy but it didnt mind at all so i dont think there should be a problem as long as it has a place to hide in case its scared

  • but my rabbit loves the rain but should i stilll make the kage mostly water proof???

  • But how will the dig? Mine love to dig, have a great tunnel network in a safe area of the yard. Also, they need enough romping room to jump and run to exercise those mighty back legs. I do bring them in at night..

  • I keep my 2 rabbits outside. Their cage is huge and on stilts. No predators can get to it and it is weather proof.

  • what happend with that rabbit leg? my has not it this way

  • It's not normal, that's for sure...

  • my rabbit is very feisty, it doesnt like being held and jumps off my arms whenever i hold her, she is new and im new to rabitt pets world, how do i train her to be more tamed? Thanks!

  • i got told cedar in wood woud kill the rabit , if so . would useing a wet cealant . or how ever you spell it .and sealing the wood . would that make it okay .

  • mine will have alot of fun! i hope..a wooden cage for some moments, indoors sometimes, and running around quite much. i might get one in a few days.

  • I put my rabbit and guinea pig on my couch, first i put down 2 towels in case they use the bathroom on it.

also my guinea pig trys to..how do you say....have sex with my rabbit lol

its cute in a weird way

  • check out my vids on my bunny and tell me if im doing something wrong with my bunny

  • to be honest i dont agree with this girl on one certian area...

rabbits can live outside too, mine does!

  • ILovePupsAndDoggies your right i have two rabbits and two guinea pigs, they all happily live in a shed that we got for them together with never ending access to a run when ever they want.

  • thank god someone agrees! (lol)

when i got this message i thought that it was something bad :D

  • Posting to all bunny videos:

Hi. I am thinking of getting a bunny but i have some questions. If i ever get one, i am planning to put it in a rather big cage and let it out to play once in a little while ( minium 1 time a week). But i am not sure if i put hay in the cage, does it still need a litterbox? Or does in poop in the hay and stuff? I guess i'm asking some strange questions, but i hope bunny lovers can tell me the answer. ( I live in a flat with no backyard.)Some advice on bunnies too!

  • omg 1 time a week? are you crazy? thats not much.....

  • Minium.. I know that 1 is just too little..

  • wow my rabbit comes out at least twice a day

  • hi imtama im not sure if letting it out once a week will be the best... i know it will have a big cage, but my bunny goes in a garden everyday.

rabbits poop in a cat litter tray or a corner of their hutch, room ECT.

rabbits dont poop in hay (maybe a bit) but rabbits poop on sawdust if not then the floor mat rug, i would say that your rabbit will need sawdust to poop on and wee on (sawdust is good for soaking up wee wee!)

i hope you found my advice usefull!

  • Rabbits *need* to stretch their legs out and go for a run.

Especially if you're intending to keep them in their cage (one thing I disagree on keeping a rabbit in) then they will become extremely irritable and depressed.

If you're not planning on giving your rabbit a lot of time outdoors, I'd suggest getting a nice big hutch or don't get a rabbit at all...

Maybe you should get goldfish for the time being..

  • LOL cool

  • I'm serious, I wasn't being sarcastic. If this individual can't afford to give an animal time outdoors, and they want a pet, it would be more practical to have a goldfish until they are capable of making time for their pets from their relationship with an animal as low maintennance as a goldfish.

It's a good way to develop a schedule to make time for your pets. Pets aren't just for our entertainment, they have needs, so start with something small, then go for the animal of your choice =D

  • thancks this helped me alot i just got a rabbit and i named him hops

  • I find this channel very helpful, so I subscribed. :D

  • wait a second.bunnies can use litter boxes?

  • you cant exactly train them to use litter boxes, but its a rabbit's nature to choose only one specific spot to relieve themselves on, so, with common sense, you'd put the litter box in their chosen spot, and all you have to do is make sure they get use to using that litter box and not push it around.

  • Halibut reminds me of max from Max and Ruby

  • is it okay to leave the timothy hay in the litter box like that? is it sanitary? I put it on the cage floor but it gets messy

  • as you realized it does get messy if you leave it on the cage floor.

apparently rabbits like to eat and poop at the same time, so i guess it's okay to leave the hay in there

and you can try stuffing the hay in a toilet paper roll, or stick it in between the seam of the door and cage

  • thanks : )

  • someone stole ma bunny wen i left her in the patio like always and if she got out the gate she would just stay wer i would c her but in the morning she wasnt there :( nd i left the gate closed but she liked it outside not inside

  • I keep my rabbit outside and he has no problems. He doesn't like it inside, so I wouldn't say rabbits are always best kept inside...

  • The bunny lives in a bathroom?

  • no she said back room

  • it has big eyes XD

  • when i get my bunny he or she wont live in a cage but in an enclosure

  • What's wrong with the poor thing's leg?

  • My rabbit is in a cage in my bedroom is that okay?

Does any one knows if rabbits actually likes to stay in a dark or in light on places?

  • I used to keep my pet rabbit in a cage but now he has free roam of the house. He is much happier and more entertaining.

  • You should consider letting your rabbit out of the cage during the day... Even just loose in your bedroom would be better than nothing, as long as you've rabbit proofed things like wires...

Our rabbit used to run around the garden and he was just like a little dog, his personality grew so much!

Rabbits like it light during the day and dark at night X

  • i see thanks ^O^

in fact i dont let my rabbit out of the cage alot cuz i'm afriad he eats the caples in my room n cuz lately i'm studying so much so i'm not finding much free time to obsarve my rabbit .

  • hey is it bad if my bunny eats paper sometimes(i don't give it to her she just munches on it when shs in my room)

  • Im not sure....but i dont think its good for anyone too eat paper :P I use to keep my rabbits away from it anyway..

  • what if ur rabbit eats the newspaper that u put under the wood shaving in the cage??

  • my rabbit has a huge cage (its like 4-6x) the average cage and he runs in their cause some days i dount have much time to take him out and play with him i still stop to see him tho...is that still healty?

  • Rabbits can live outside but not just in a hutch (which arent nearly big enough for them to live in anyway) My two rabbits live outdoors and they have a whole shed specially adapted for them to live in, with an inner mesh door so we can keep the main door open so they can see out. They also have a hutch inside the shed mounted on the wall. We have had them for several years now and the vet always compliments us on the way we care for them and how healthy they are.

  • XterriXleighX, can they live in a hutch with a run attatched to it?

  • omg that is like the same potty and bedding i use for my bunnies

  • do rabbits smell bad.. like compared to other animals like that? Just deciding if i should get a rabbit VS a rat?

  • It depends on the rabbit, but usually not if you take care of them well.

  • the comment below is to the people that say they shouldnt live outside.

  • my rabbit is an outdoor rabbit but her hutch is in a shed all year round with the door open in summer ( when she's not in the garden) and the door not quite so fully open in the winter so it doesnt get too cold and wet for her but she can still see out, and she's a happy bunny so if you think about how your treating your rabbit then they can live outside and they are wild animals and they wouldnt find a nice cozy worm house in the wild, we treat the shed as a burrow.

  • Her advice about not kepping rabbits outside isn't right at all. In the winter, rabbits shouldn't be kept outside if it is very cold, but rabbits naturally live outside. Anyway, preditors shouldn't even be able to get to your rabbit.

The RSPCA website gives some more reliable information.

  • yes.

  • the vet told me that you shouldnt feed your rabbit lettuce as it gives them belly ace even though they will eat it if you give it to them.

  • Its good to feed them a variety of fresh veg aswel as dried food. Its imporant to only give them small amounts at a time and not make major changes to their diet at same time - for example, if youre rabbit is used to only dried food and you put a whole lettuce in the hutch- its likely the rabbit will be greey and eat it all then get upset stomach.

  • Soz, I meant that they should not be kept outside if it is very cold.

  • Her advice about not kepping rabbits outside isn't right at all. In the winter, rabbits should be kept outside if it is very cold, but rabbits naturally live outside. Anyway, preditors shouldn't even be able to get to your rabbit.

  • She seem to be nervous(1:17). She is very good and very informative. Good luck to you, Sarah!

  • type in xty31 then click on karissa and isis dancing so cool!

  • she looks like shes gona cry

  • But wild rabbits naturally live outside. Surely weather isn't a problem and if their outside hutch is secure with no ways of getting in, there shouldn't be a worry about preditors.

  • I'm getting a new baby bunny soon and these vids. are soooo helpful! (i know that rabbits keep themselves clean, but some sites say wash them WHEN THERE REALLY dirty, can u put up a vid. about washing them when u need to?? TY (thank you!)

  • i read an artical that you should only wash your rabbit if required as bathing them to much kills them, has something to do with the natrual oil in there fur

  • is that bunnys leg broken?

  • My rabbit has its own room AND a cage...thats best for her.

  • my rabbit is bigger than that cage

  • I was wondering if my rabbit is getting a healthy daily diet every morning I give my rabbit, a slice of banana, handful of lettuce, a grape, handful of raisins, handful of hay and alph alpha, occasionally some plain health cherios, and i always change the rabbits water every day.

  • Hi there, well never gave ya bunny food that contain sugar. Never feed lettuce, cabbage, celery for they contain too much water that will cause Diarrhea.. As for bananas, a small slice will do.. Prefer to feed them pellets or hays.. Im sure ya bunny will do just fine.. =)

  • thanks, but now i know thanks for your information i appreciate it. :)

  • Sugar is a bad thing in that it can disrupt gut flora. Water will not cause diarrhea, but some rabbits simply do not tolerate veggies. "Gas" producing items like cabbage etc can be a big problem too. Excellent quality pellets and unlimited grass hay is the best diet. Alway have fresh water at all times.

  • You Can Feed them lettuce and the other stuff you said ..... But Frogzz u shouldnt give that much at 1 time. Its bad for ur rabbits diet.

  • No, bunnies need greens in their diet and a leaf of lettuce will not hurt your bunny. In fact, diarrhea occurs when the rabbit isn't used to eating greens and the digestive tract can't handle it. You should introduce greens slowly until the rabbit can eat a handful of greens with no problems daily.

  • hey, be careful with raisins! You can give it one or two, but to many will give it diarea!!!

Raisins and prunes and stuff have too much sugar and some might have a laxative effect!!

  • i agree with u Radinchique!!! A rabbit main diet should consist of mainly pellets and hay. Dont give too much of cabbage, lettuce (particular wet food) Even though they are very much interested in wet food, it will cause them to have diarrhea. If the diarrhea is constantly occuring it can cause ur rabbit to be very ill and sometime to the verge of death. Just be careful. I also found information that says that wet food should only consist of 5% of the rabbit's diet.

  • A rabbit diet should consist of hay, vegetables and then a small amount of pellets. Lettuce isn't good, but dark green non-watery vegetables are good and a rabbit needs lots of them
