  • 2 friends bought Hetchins in 1974 and paid $3000 for them. They told of Glen Fiddich. I never went back to anything less

  • what year is it? nice bike btw.

  • I have a Bob Jackson /Hetchins "Magnum Opus Delux"

Ok its not a true Hetchins but with the frame black and the lugs painted red. Also

picked out with gold paint with 3/4 crome focks and back stays . I think its looks great.

  • What is up with the curved chain stay? I have been collecting for years and never seen that! As a single speed why do you still have the shifters on it? Sweet bike!

  • @teachu2computer: many (although not all) Hetchins have curved seatstays and chainstays. My Hetchins is pretty much like this one and has the "vibrant" or "curly" stays, but some models from the '60s and '70s have conventional, straight stays.

The original idea was that it acted as a sort of dampener for absorbing road irregularities, but it was also a marketing ploy because British racing in the '30s forbade makers' names on bikes. Everyone could tell the Hetchins, though.
