Yeah so, without the night is a million times better acoustic. I always thought it was the only weak cut on the whole album cause the cheese factor was through the roof, this version makes it simply wonderful. Rock on winger, rock on.

Ah, 240p, we meet again. Man, this dude was huge when this came out. I signed autographs as him in 1989, I think it was. I was at Great America in California and had sun glasses on and was sporting long hair and a well trimmed short beard. 6 or 7 teens came running up to me asking for my autograph & kept calling me Kip or Mr. Winger.

LOL! I'm not kidding! I kept telling them I wasn't Kip & then one of my friends said, "C'mon Kip. Sign them!" So I did & the kids thanked me & finally left. LOL!

This video was probably taken just moments before Nirvana came along and buried glam metal for the next decade. I miss the big hair days, mullets, smokes in shirt sleeves, when MTV was actually about music videos...and of course Kip Winger cranking out these cheesy ballads but I am still coming back for more all these years later.

these guys are just awesome...simple as that. Yeah, they came out in the glam metal stage and were lost with time, but these guys are a perfect example of real musicians. There's no auto tune, no backing tracks, only live music. Kip is an amazing singer. Reb is too might I add! The music these guys produce is just epic. If you don't own an album, GET ONE! =)

def leppard meets chicago and eddie van halen comes along, this is what this band is like to me.. I never heard of this band until now, back in the 80´s and early 90´s, van halen poison, motley crue, GNRs, aerosmith, KISS, tesla, europe and white snake, skid row, were some only bands played in radio in my country. Winger is amazing, by far better than most of the bands I just mentioned. It´s sad and embarrasing being a metal dude for 25 years and didn´t know about Winger.

Winger was a decent act that had the misfortunte of arriving during the second wave of glam which i dub the "corporate" metal band. While Winger was far superior to the likes of Poison, Bon Jovi, Warrent and that lot, they weren't as good as the trailblazers of the LA scene such as Van Halen, Ratt and Dokken.

Winger were always a very Technically adept and Talented Band, they also had a great sense of Humour (check out the Video they released in 1990) but I think the Image they had (Big Hair etc) kinda Pigeonholed them in the Publics Eye as being just another Glam Rock Band, which they were most certainly not.

@miketheblueeagle - Yes, there was so many of them, but Winger had, in my opinon, loads of Musical talent which I think the Image hid a bit too much (not that theres anything wrong with dressing like that, but it can be misleading) Interesting you mention Whitesnake cos Reb Beach the guitarist from Winger has been with them since 2002. I think the only good Album Warrant released was Dog Eat Dog in 1992, the others werent so great, thats just my opinion though.

Interesting tidbit about W/out the Night - Kip mentioned this way back at a Borders gig that he had Miles Away in his head when he wrote it so the choruses are almost identical.  I like W/out the Night better tho;)
