Awesome video. Thanks for sharing. That's when men looked like men and women still took pride in their appearance. Those were the days..............Oh, and let's not forget that GORGEOUS Buick either!
The former residents of Roseland were the owners of the great businesses and restaurants throughout the area. The current, decent, middle class residents described below have been there for over 30 years. Any idea why they have not invested in the area and created businesses and a place to be proud of?
decent black people with jobs started moving into roseland and west pullman and the white people left! probably because they could not stand seeing decent hard working black people live good. when they left some factories closed down and businesses did not invest in the neighborhoods! so with no jobs
no investments in the community crime goes up! todya there are hard working, decent, loving black families that live in roseland and west pullman! yes there are gangs and drugs and crime!
yeah that area looks like the suburbs, I think those who post videos on youtube saying how its all screwed up, were poor back then and could only afford those cheap frame houses. Roseland is city in its self, there are areas that are very nice and there are parts that not. My mom still lives there she makes over 100k, yet some people live there make 20k. One day I will film Roseland and show the varies parts throughout
There are still very nice places in Roseland particularly 115th King-104th and King West from King to Indiana between 111th and 104th. East 113th there huge mansion across from the Palmer Park. West Roseland west of Michigan Ave is has much cheaper houses. Down the hill the houses are much nicer and still look good.
we have to put pressure on our alderman to get businesses to invest in roseland and west pullman! iam not talking about liqour stores, korean owned beauty supply shops and
sharks and jj fish owned by arabs who dont invest back in the community! its a shame to see young black men standing on 119th and michigan with no jobs hanging out with long white t shirts on or no shirt at all gang banging and wasting there life away! as black people we must stand up and take back our community!
