The one point you should realize when giving it this much veg is to make sure that you clean its cage out if the carrot remains uneaten otherwise harmful mould will infect your hamster. I'm not so sure about the coke but as long as you don't feed it more than a cap full in 1-3 years then I don't think it will do any harm. And yes, I got advice from a qualified veterinary surgeon before posting this.

Hamsty didn't even eat the carrot; it kept half of it in its cheek pouches for a later snack, which may stop it from going hungry later on and maybe even save its life. As Reitanna said, hamsters know when to stop eating.

As for you idiots who keep posting about overfeeding, your comments are worthless. Feeding it 1/2 a carrot will not hurt it; in fact it may just do the opposite. Just like we need our 5-a-day, they need fresh fruit and veg to keep healthy and this is a good example of doing so.

Wow, you are stupid. Their pouches are for STORAGE. My hamster does the same thing, and puts the STORED food in her igloo for a later consumption. If they do not want the rest of a food item, they will leave it alone when they are done.
