@Canoots All depends on where your at, in the shallow backwaters by the farms I wouldnt eat em, But in the rivers and deeper parts of the lake I eat the shit out of em, Madisonville is only 20 miles from me, I fish tellico and FT louden weekly, ate the fish for years, No problem's so far lol

I fished with Phil in 2007 right after he caught his 103 pounder in the World Catfishing Championship. We caught about 250 lbs of Blue cats in about 6 hours, including a 42 and 48 pounder.

me and my dad where fishing one time and i got a bite did every thing he told me and when i realed it in i don't know how... but i had 2 fish with 1 hook kind of... one had the bait and the other was kind of on the side it looked like when i pulled it ran into another fish and the little spike that cat fish have implaed the other one so when i relled it in im like umm... dad...i think i just caugh 2 fish.. hes like what do you mean? then i showed him hes like lol!!!!!

@yourdaddy342 i caught a fish with a night crawler and it came up with another fish in its mouth. almost like the little fish went for the bait and the big fish went for the little fish lol. they were both alive to!

i was fishing for bass out in the cove's not to long ago it was about 2:30 pm and god damn i was using a spinner and i caught a damn 20lb blue catfish i didn't expect it it's unusual for that to happen

I notice you guys using baitcasting reels. Everyone I know uses a spinning reel when catfishing. What's the preference for a baitcaster?

more accuracy and to be honest they work alot better and cast better if u need any help add me and i can give u a hand with any of ur questions.

Well I know they're more accurate, but honestly how important is that for catfishing ?? And I can cast farther with my spinning rod than I can with my baitcaster when using a catfish bait, plus you don't want to sling a catfish bait with a baitcasting rod, do you? I guess everyone has their own style, just seems odd to me.

@jobu88 I think it's for the power. You try and reel in a 40+ lb cat that's stuck under a log with a spinning reel, it isn't going to work very well.
