Another MAJOR bad for this is that if you use it for audiobooks then, unlike the iPod, it doesn't 'Remember Playback Position' so if you play something else then go back to the audiobook you have to remember where you were in the audiobook and fast forward to it which can be a long way in. So it's practically useless for audiobooks and just useful for short songs which is a shame because it's a nice bit of kit.
Come on Sony it can't be that difficult to include 'Remember Playback Position'.

The back and option buttons are also quite hard to press - as in they don't stand out enough for me. The back is okay, it's the option button that is quite bad.
While the navigation is not too bad on the A829, it's not like it is on the iPods.
The major "WTF" is the noise I get with the CX300s, and a little bit even with the supplied in-ear headphones. Not to sound like wanker, but that's not really acceptable.
maybe u should lose some pounds lol if there that hard for u to press,second if u insist on having problems with your fingers,that does not make it a problem with the device as others do not have the same problem,so u should post that in your reviews,thirdly id prob try out a device at a best buy or something before u buy it lol.

Walkman is a Sony's brand. Same like Playstation or CyberShot. Sony however uses some of these brands on their phones (Sony and Sony Ericsson). Srsly, most of the cell phones from SE that claim to be walkmans don't even have an 3.5 mm jack on the device. I've been yousing my T650i as an MP3 player but the extra cable you need to use is just pain in the dickhole.

I wanted Ipod Nano Chromatic but I chose Sony NWZ-820 (this is the same that NWZ-S739FB) and I don't regret. It is brilliant. The screen is bigger than the Ipod's screen.
I had a Sony NWZ-718 8GB, exchanged it for an iPod 5G 30GB due to Sony firmware which doesn't allow playlist creation on the device. Playlists are made with WMP. I needed more capacity and with 16-30 GB of music scrolling through songs was easier on the iPod.
I regret the exchange, and I'm looking into the Sony with Bluetooth. I wish that Sony would include a better and faster scrolling system, as well as, provide a way to create playlists on the device itself.

My BIG concern with all these new Sony players is the fact the battery is integral, and batteries have a limited life, even the best quality ones. So when the battery dies your expensive players becomes waste bin fodder.

Can somebody tell me wether it's normal having such TERRIBLE slow USB speeds with this player? This is just FAR from max USB 2.0 speed, I think I spend an hour putting 8 albums on it...

Anyone know if and how you can stream music to the PS3 over the Bluetooth function? I read it somewhere that you can. My PS3 picks the unit up after scanning but when I go to pair them after entering the passkey it comes up on the screen 'Error in operation'

Bluetooth is only efficient for transferring photo files, it's too slow to transfer music files. It's made in Malaysia, not China, so it feels very solid and the metal casing is great. I never owned an iPod but I can't imagine having a MP3 player any better than this one. I got mine on a discount at J&R.
I have the 4GB version and I like a lot. The sound quality is incredible and has so many audio options to tweak to your liking. Very nice and comfortable ear buds, they don't bother my ears even after hours of listening. And 2.4" LCD is bright and crisp, I watch music videos on it all the time. 8GB is probably the ideal one if you have tons of music, but 4GB is plenty good for me. I wouldn't get the Bluetooth version since it takes too long to transfer music files.
I agree. i was considering getting the 16gb model but the $300 pricetag is a bit too much. you can get a 16gb zen for around $200. if anything i'll go with the 8gb.

This is going to be one of my birthday presents from my cousin overseas.
I feel stupid, not because this looks horrible or anything, but that fact that I chose it over a Nikon D40 SLR.
Hopefully after getting the A820 I won't feel as if I did the totally wrong thing.

Does anyone know how you can put pair Album art foto's to Mp3 music files so when you play it in you mp4 or windows media player you can see the album art in the display ?

You can do it with a lot of programs.
Windows Media Player and Winamp can search for AlbumArt and implement them automatically.
Just search for AlbumArt taggers with google.
there are a lot of Taggers which automaticaly search for this pics

Can somebody tell me wether it's normal having such TERRIBLE slow USB speeds with this player? This is just FAR from max USB 2.0 speed, I think I spend an hour putting 8 albums on it...
Besides that, this player is awesome, great sound, great screen, great feel.
Transfer speed just sucks. (Maybe I'm doing something wrong since I don't see anybody complaining about it on the internet? Please tell me ^^)

Anyone know if and how you can stream music to the PS3 over the Bluetooth function? I read it somewhere that you can. My PS3 picks the unit up after scanning but when I go to pair them after entering the passkey it comes up on the screen 'Error in operation'

Sharp, but I'm at least holding out for expandable memory. If Sony's locking me bin with Pro DUO then I'm at least going to try and buy something that uses it.
Would love to see Wifi on future models for Internet Radio. Fingers Crossed :p

Bluetooth is only efficient for transferring photo files, it's too slow to transfer music files. It's made in Malaysia, not China, so it feels very solid and the metal casing is great. I never owned an iPod but I can't imagine having a MP3 player any better than this one. I got mine on a discount at J&R.

I have the 4GB version and I like a lot. The sound quality is incredible and has so many audio options to tweak to your liking. Very nice and comfortable ear buds, they don't bother my ears even after hours of listening. And 2.4" LCD is bright and crisp, I watch music videos on it all the time. 8GB is probably the ideal one if you have tons of music, but 4GB is plenty good for me. I wouldn't get the Bluetooth version since it takes too long to transfer music files.

Only the 820 model is. The exact same one w/o bluetooth is the 720 model.

I agree. i was considering getting the 16gb model but the $300 pricetag is a bit too much. you can get a 16gb zen for around $200. if anything i'll go with the 8gb.

I've not cared for another player since I got my Creative Zen Vision M... until now. two downfalls proprietary usb plugs but i guess its so skinny it needed one (at least no dongle!) and storage limitations... I wonder if I can bluetooth this to my brother's ps3 and listen to my tracks on there?
