Great! This is a very popular song from the Mexican Revolution that was renamed when it was copied in Texas. The original name is Jesusita en Chihuahua and you can hear many mariachi versions by searching under that name.
I love it! So young and talented! Makes me jealous a bit. My Grandfather use to make violins and teach lessons. Although, I never really had the patience to study during the time he was teaching and I was too busy with high school!
Beautiful! The sheet music for this is in the Craig Duncan Master Fiddle Solo Collection. Thank you for playing it so well, now I have something to refer to.
That was awesome. It is definitely going on my list of songs to learn. Think I heard your teacher say at the end "Thats a winner" I would have to agree. Thanks.
that very first part, however, is traditionally played pizzicato (the actual name of the piece is "Jesusita en Chihuahua" and it's pretty much standard mariachi repertoire). It's very hard to explain the part i mean, but i guess if i had to call it, i would say 0:03-0:13 and its supposed to be a little faster. of course the great part about music is that its open to interpretation :D
pizzicato or not, though, you played that really well, i enjoyed it.
Great to listen to this again after several months. I appreciate your videos even more now that I'm attempting to learn to play the fiddle. And this was two years ago; I can only imagine what you do with this tune today. :)
That's fantastic playing! My daughter, Piper, is 9 and is just starting that piece. A ton of notes in there, that's for sure! Maybe someday we'll post her up here.
¡Excelente!
