  • @DiogoProducoes15 It's about $280.

  • work this on fl studio 10 ??????

  • @BazzaBeatz No.. Its MOTU BPM..

  • @BazzaBeatz Yes, it does.

  • BPM got a nasty factory sound kit, and the effect are off the chart, but i hate the control and sync time, never get what i put in out...gotta punch in all the patterns, i like playing live more

  • @DiogoProducoes15 NO!.. Its not free.. You have to pay for it

  • Still can't get it to load a sample and move the transient slider to chop without it crashing every time. No response from MOTU in nearly a year to address this issue. I feel flat out robbed. Any ideas???

  • i got the software but nothing is coming out no sound

  • @Kinimod009 Did you make sure your outputs are assigned correctly?

  • how can I make the sound come out of bpm

  • @Kinimod009 What do you mean? Do you have studio monitors and an interface? If so then you should be good to go, I am not following you by sound, do you want to route the sound out of BPM's I/O? Please explain more

  • @Kinimod009 smack it one time...

  • I have a question. I bought BPM 1.5 and run it on Win 7. Every time I try to chop a sample in the clip view, BPM crashes. EVERY TIME! Motu support is non-existent so I wonder if you have encountered this problem, and if so, do you know a fix for it?

  • @mugm2 get more RAM..2 GIGS MINIMUM...

  • @strugglebuggietv Very ture.. you will need more ram

  • @strugglebuggietv I have 4 gigs. isn't that enough?

  • @mugm2 Did you figure it out, or still need assistance?

  • @orecordings still crashing everytime. I bought Geist and it runs fine. Still want to use BPM, and now just for drums, but would like to slice with it.

  • @Imhoteption What part is crashing? When trying to open it, when using the BPMsampler? etc... You can slice using BPM

  • @orecordings ok. sorry. I will try to explain better. When I press the clip button and drag a sample in, it loads fine. As soon as I hit the transients slicer BPM as a whole crashes. Every single time. Am I doing something wrong?

  • @Imhoteption As of now MOTU is aware of the situation and having their engineering team coming up with a solution and they will get back to me.. As tech support was stumped.

  • @mugm2 up your ram on the computer, im run on win7 thru pt8 no issue

  • Does this have something similar to the CHOPPER in fl studio?

  • @THEREALtrappajohn Yes it does

  • 1:33 How is you Finger so Fuckin Big ? !bpm must be only part of the screen lol im high , BPM dope wit that MV thou , i Went wit Giest and a MPC ..

  • Wikid!! Better than Reasons KONG! WAYYYYYY bETTER

  • @australiandj BPM looks better than my MPC , but the Way i can chop rex Files Kong and shit is nice ,

but bpm has a SEQ in it , like Geist .. and Geist is Sick ! im not sure but I My Geist is probly better than BPM

  • @JSprayaEntertainment I wouldn't bet on Geist being better than BPM, lets just say they are different, keep in mind this BPM video is out dated, this is Version 1.. Version 1.5 is killer by far.. I will have out Geist

  • yEAH

  • a download link ???

  • @Miaumiauize What? what do you mean by a download link

  • @Miaumiauize BUY!!! U dnt just download this stuff

    or free hey

  • @Miaumiauize You have to BUY it. It's like $280.

  • My volume won't play. Its says unable to mount volume. what should i do

  • @81RichYung What are you trying to do? load a sample? play the stock sounds? etc?

  • When I open my bpm software it always say UNABLE TO MOUNT THE VOLUME FROM 'C:/ PROGRAM (X86)/ MOTU/BPM. Do u know what I would have to do, cause it want play any sounds?

  • @81RichYung Where did you place the .UFS file at? it should be located inside that folder

  • does this work with a typing keyboard

  • @ajaydatindiekid96 I really don't know, I have never tried.. I will try tonight and let you know..

  • help me with installation in windows

    plese

  • @ronnie80able What stage are you at, with the installation?

  • help me with installation in windows

  • help me with installation in windows

  • thanks man, for a lil demo of it, cuz imma go find one in guitar center

  • Let me know when you do.. I'm making a Motu BPM DVD tutorial

  • daamn THATS whut i need, and u can control it with a keyboard?

  • @InsomniusPFA Yes you can control it with ANY controller

  • yo what do you think about Maschine O compared to BPM

  • Check your PM box, as I sent you my response.

  • is there a demo out or is it seeded some where...want to try it before i buy it....

  • No.. There is no demo.. I'm not sure if you can rip it from torrentz, but I wouldn't try.. Plus you will need an ilok to enable BPM to work

  • im confused someone please help me out here ok..so this is just a program not an actual board thing?

so what board do you use to control this beat maker thing?? like your keyboard or wut???

  • I use my Roland MV8000,yamaha kx61 midi keyboard and I use the akai mpd32 to control motu bpm..you can use any controller, keyboard or drum machine to control this software

  • i notice u said u were gonna use emu sounds and yamaha soundz.. i have an alesis fusion 6hd workstation i use it as a controller for the keys and a mpd24 for drums n such How can i use sounds from the fusion? do i have to sample them or is there a way to play them directly in2 the bpm

  • You can route the outputs of your Fusion, into BPM inputs by either two ways you can sample directly.. Or what I do is play the part ( I use my yamaha keys) into BPM then since it export as midi just mute the sound from BPM and use my yamaha as a sound module.. Are you recording into a daw also?

  • i just use bpm in stand alone. i figured it would be along those lines but everytime i try n open tha sampler it says error initializing audio realtek speakers. is there any way you could give me a step by step process of the way u said u do by exporting midi and muting tha bpm or do a video or something. i have a midi cable going from tha midi out on tha fusion to tha midi in on tha mpd and a midi cable going from tha midi in on tha fusion to tha midi out on tha mpd do i need any more cables?

  • YES.. I can do a video.( you may have to give me some time tho!). What is your interface? I notice you said Realtek but that is the factory PC interface...

  • koo i would really appreciate it if u could do that for me ur videos r quite helpful. Youve definitely kikked me down alot of knowledge i copped bpm after i seen it on one of your videos like 2 months ago. oh n on the interface thing r u saying i have to have a usb midi interface before i can sample?

  • No.. I'm askin a normal audio and midi interface.. like a Motu ultralite mk3, presonus firfox, tc electronic konnect.. something where you would plug your synth into.. I will show you in my video

  • can you record a video where you sample external sources and show us how the sampler work thanks

  • Sure.. I can do this.. But I think I already have, I can do this again tho! Check out my other vids Sampling inside a daw, and Resampling within a DAW..

  • can u add complex loops like chords from a record or sympony?

  • Yes.. It as creative and complex as you want..

  • A homeboi, can u apply grove and swing to individual lanes or does it only apply globally?

    Nice vid

  • Yes you can apply a quantize feature to each individual instrument such as swing hi hats an leave kick alone. However you can do it globally too.

  • great tutuorials and very helpful info. Thank you!

  • Thanx man!

  • yea i use a midi controller, but i was thinkin more like bongo and hi hat patterns, for latino style percussion

  • thanks for the feedback but , i have no idea how to get any pattern with the roll function, it just doesnt work for me, getting any kind of groove from it, how do you work with making a percussion groove. thanks again

  • I use the Roll function and then split pan the rolls this is great for snares and kicks I then adjust the swing and it gives me what I need.. Are you using a midi controller?

  • any idea how to work around it not having note repeat

  • I use the Roll function

  • hey man, cool vid, just a few questions, can u export the drum pattern as midi to your daw with the same groove, how many pages can u have on the step sequencer screen,16 level pad tuning and mpc style poly, mono and note off for samples on pads..thanks

  • #1 Yes, transfer midi drum pattern to daw..

    #2 pages up to 8 bars.. 1.1 to 8.4bars

    #3 Yes

    Your welcome

  • is this free? or store bought or something?

  • You can buy this at your local music retailer or online @ guitarcenter, sweetwater, MOTU, musiciansfriend, sam ash, etc...

  • like which kind of stored? could i get it from a guitar and microphone and stuff like that kindof shop?

  • A Music store that sells New software. I would suggest ordering it online.

  • I don't have a midi controller yet but can you use the computer keyboard to trigger?

  • All the videos except the one mentioning the Roland MV.. I have used only the mouse.. YES you can use your keyboard or Mouse..

  • Cool thanks. I'm assuming you can route sounds/pads individually out into the DAW tracks. (For example, I can route a kick into it's own DAW track, a snare into another, and so on). I guess it would be dumb for MOTU not to do this........I'm also waiting for the new LinnDrum II later this year (hopefully) to see what it does.

  • (Nevermind about LinnDrum II this year - I just read his news update)

  • Yes.. You can route pads/sounds to the individual outputs

  • over the top of your keyboard it looks like you have an e-mu yellow mo-phat module is it?

i had the purple one was great but would had been bomb if had a sampler built in

  • Yeah I know but it's so worth keeping.. I'm looking to pick up another one.. It's probably the best midi sequencer ever

  • i saw on back of a mag thought is was an actual hardware piece until i watched ya video. i use to use an mpc and an e-mu mp-7 now switched to reason live & pro tools with an akai mpk49.. i like the fact that really acts/looks like an mpc type of piece

  • Yeah their marketing scheme was very deceiving

  • Can you make death metal beats with this?

  • BPM is geared towards hip hop, but since it's a sampler adn you cna get a wide variety of samples from UVI too.. I would say it can do death metal.. But it really shines towards hiphop

  • Oh since when are instruments tailored toward music genre?! Of course you can make death metal with. As well as house or county music! The sound library might be Hip Hop only but that doesn't mean the instrument is limited to that!

  • You just answered your question..

"Oh since when are instruments tailored toward music genre?!" The sound library might be Hip Hop only but that doesn't mean the instrument is limited to that! Your right, I never said Instruments are tailored to one genre, but the program/software is? You said it just right sys2074.. I completely agree with you.. Thanks

  • you can make fire beats with it , its just practicing.

  • Yeah.. you can make fire beats w/ BPM I got some new vids coming shortly

  • kk, i'll be checking

  • great video !!!

but..... i got one question ist that motu bpm or motu mach five 2

  • I'm using BPM

  • Thanks

  • can you bring in sampled drums on the next one? I mean som hard and gritty Hip-Hop....I wanna see that! Then ill be convinced

  • Okay..I will post another video

  • where can i find this ?

  • Anywhere, guitarcenter, sweetwater, musiciansfriend,etc..

  • Where else????????

  • I'm interested in using the new M-audio Axiom Pro49 and it has the hyper control feature which automatically route the plugins to the keyboard.I'm wondering which Motu BPM controls sync up so I dont have to purchase a Akai MPD32?

  • Most of them.. The transport (Stop, Rec, Play, etc..) Some rack controls (vol, Pan), cutoff, ASDR controls, pad controls, Pitch controls, AHD controls, pitch envelope, All mixer volumes, pans, and Reverb sends, delays, aux controls

  • Yyour information is helpful and infomative, but wheres the beat at? I've heard what the bpm is capable of so when will u make a beat thats hot and innovative in conjuction with your tutorial side? I'm not hating on u man...Again this program has 15 gigs of sound to use, but you produce an abc 123 casio beat???? Come with the fire next time dude.

  • I will make a complete beat making video.. Come with the fire, yeah I will.. Still show some love and rate my vid.. Thanks for the real talk.. stay up

  • Nice vids on BPM.

I want to use this with another program like Ableton Live.

  • Thanks.. Yes you can sure use this with any DAW..Lucky for you the manual tells you how to use BPM with Live... I would get this software.. I will help you thru this if you need help

  • I just got mine yesterday !! Did you run into any problems when you installed it ??

  • Yes.. I had problems with the ilok and MOTU is fully aware of the problem, it was a short problem, they overnighted me a new ilok..

  • Also Vista installs things differently..For x64 Vista users when it comes time to install the DVDs of Sounds, you might be stumped when the manual and the Readme file both say "startup disk:\Program Files\MOTU\BPM\Plug-in\Sounds" ---Vista doesn't create this file..you have to do is go to your program files (mine is in the C drive hence the startup disk name) click on MOTU then select BPM then create a file and name it sounds or plug-in then you can copy or drag your sounds from the DVD over

  • I had the same problem, my man here helped me out and confirmed my suspicion of a wrong license.

Called Motu and they added a new license to my ilok account. Problem solved. whole process took about 10 minutes.

Apparently they screwed up and sent out a bunch of boxed BPMs that had Ethno licenses instead.

I will be using this product with LIve6

Still need to pick up a controller tho as I recently sold my MPC1000

Now its time to learn this beast!!!

  • I'm glad everything worked out.. when ya ready let's collab on some projects. ya cool with that?

  • No Doubt, i'm always down to collab.

Right no i'm having a problem trying to track out the individual pads at the same time from BPM onto multiple tracks in my DAW (Live6)

Its prob just some stupid little thing I overlooked. I can't seem to get bpms individual outputs to show up in my daw only the main outs.

Maybe you can show in a later video how to set up and track out your sequences track by track into a DAW.

  • My copy of MOTU BPM arrived today(glad I ordered quickly cuz its already sold out quickly at guitar center and musiciansfriend websites). but I am going to wait until I get my computer upgraded with more hard disk space first before installing it. I have a Boss DR880 drum machine which has midi functions but if that doesn't work out, then I'll buy Akai MPD32. thanks again for the inspiration and showcase of this software.

  • Your welcome.. Let me know if you run into any problems

  • wut up man, where can you download this program?

  • This program is not a download, you can purchase MOTU's BPM thru musiciansfriend, sweetwater, guitar center, or etc... This is a great beat making machine.. You will love this

  • What Up T ? Yo man... PLEASE let me k now if you can still sample directly into BPM when its in a host (like cubase, logic, etc...) I know it samples directly to the pad when in standalone..BUT I need it to be able to sample to the pad while NOT in standalone. Does it do this? Thanks man... Looking forward t the new video

  • Really feeling this u Need to post more videos right now im shopping around so im comparing this with Native instruments maschine and Guru but i like this if u know ne thing consering with is better holla at me i will be graetly appriciated

  • I will be posting a sampling video on Friday, using the BPM.. I did my research, and I feel this is the best one for me. NI's comes with a pad controller, if you don't have one then this might be for you. However you can still get BPM, and Akai MPD32 cheaper than NI's.. check out both of them..

  • CAN U MAKE ROCK MUSIC ON THIS,

    POSTBACK

  • Yes you can; however it is design for hip-hop , dance, r&B based.. but it does have Rock sounds for sure.. I would say YES you can make Rock music on it

  • hey does it always quantize your drums? or can you get it to be a little off or just off completely and quantize later? thanks peace.

  • No it doesn't always quantize your drums, just switch the quantize off. Then quantize later

  • Great video, just ordered mine. I have a question about midi recording. Can bpm record 32nd notes like a mpc for those fast hi hat parts and does it have a roll function?

  • Yes and Yes.. I use my Roland MV to control my hi hats adn you can set each HH, snare, kick to a different note function.. ie: kick can be 8th notes, snare can be 16ths, HH can be 32nd.. bass can be 16th note triplets or whatever

  • Thanks for the quick reply. I just received confirmation from Sweetwater that my order shipped today. Hopefully it'll be here by the end of next week.

  • tight as hell.. Man ya gonna love this.. If you have any questions hit me up

  • Does it has some kind of gate function or has it only one-shot mode? I mean the drum section btw

  • Kinda of.. You can adjust the Sustain of the pad so if you only want partial then you get it if you want it all of the drum hit then you get it, basically oyu decide.. I talk about this function alittle in my sampling from an external source video.. to my knowledge it doesn't have a true gate function..But I haven't also gotten in too deep with that side too, but I will now..

  • Comment removed

  • hey man, nice tutorial. what is the device above yr' keyboard with the pads? looks great.

  • Thanks man.. Above the keyboard is my Emu Command Station, It's probably one of the most powerful synths amongst equipment out there..

  • what makes this prog diff than Guru?

  • BPM has more to offer: 15gb library, smooth intregration with all Daws, supports 64 bit systems, you can collab much easier with others, can read Mp3s, Drum synth included, ASDR controls, No limit on layering sounds into one pad, runs in high sample rates in standalone and as a plug-in, workflow 100 times easier than Guru. Please don't get me wrong Guru is good, it's that they slept on it for so long adn the 1.5v update is still not enough.. at least for me..

  • thanks for a solid explanation between BPM and Guru especially since you have experienced both of their capabilities. Now I can go on and purchase MOTU BPM to enhance my studio...and you're using the Roland MV 8000 too!!! You should be on top of the world!!

  • I feel like I'm on top of the world.. Like I said before you will notice a change and much easier workflow.. When you get it hit me up, I will help you through anything..

  • where can i buy this stuff?

  • You can buy it anywhere: Musiciansfriend, Guitarcenter, sweetwater.. However they are pre-order only.. but if you buy direct thru Motu you will get it shortly.. So I would recommend MOTU direct, Monday is when you can buy it from GC, MF and sweetwater and etc...

  • thank you~

  • cool, gotta get this !!!

  • You won't be sorry, it is worth every penny..

  • alot of people are stuck on the new Native Instruments Maschine but I think this is the one !!!

  • I know.. I was one of them until I look at the price of them.. I can buy the akai MPD32 ($299) and Motu's software ($279) for less than NI Maschine ($599.00) plus get 10% of at guitar center on the akai & motu.. But if your like me and already have a midi/pad controller then you save even more money.. I bought extra soundsets from UVI.. Don't get me wrong NI's Maschine does look nice..

  • how much

  • The price is $279.00

  • Yes! it has been since NAMM 09 that Monday Jan 19.. .you must call MOTU themselves and order it from them directly..

  • What would be the number I would reach them at? I checked their website but I couldn't find any information about buying from them directly.

  • Phone: 617.576.2760

    (9AM - 6PM EST, Monday-Friday)

  • is this available for sale now?
