I believe teleprompters help outline the points they want to cover so a person does not leave out an aspect they deem important, yet one among many points. Palin just writes in on her hand, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that either. He came to my area recently at an energy company and I got a chance to hear him speak and he was very thoughtful and articulate.

Except it is a bottom up government, that is why we call it a republic-democracy. The people of each part of the nation elect representatives to serve the people in the federal government.
While the executive branch has nominations and appointments they still have to be confirmed by congress so they are vetted and questioned. So even they aren't just given a position.
If the fault lies on anyone it is always the people.

He'd get big applause when he mentions lowering taxes, eliminating government agencies, auditing the Fed, and shrinking govt. Unfortunately, when he gets to the part about decriminalizing pot, allowing gay marriage, and claiming that terrorists only hate America because we support Israel's illegal occupation of Palestinian territory, they'd charge the stage and tar and feather the guy.
