  • Your daughter's hair is is beautiful & you did an amazing job :D !

  • where did you get your flat iron

  • @ShantaeNiicole18, on eBay

  • I can wait to have a daughter so I can do her hair! I treasure my son but there is only so much my husband will allow me do to him, lol

  • I'm kinda of late viewing this video but I just want u to know that This is much needed advice and i tried this on my daughters hair and I used all of the products and her hair is beautiful.. All I can say is thank u and now j don't have to pay anyone to actually do her hair.... Thanks a million

  • @Beautyqueenosity - You are very welcome ;o)

  • i see no rough handling what so ever, some people are just sooo..................... Love the hair by the way

  • her hair came out soooo cute...i think i will try those rollers..I never knew they gave those kinds of results..and by the way..LOL@ the see no evil picture...i know, you are trying to protect her identity....

  • Awhh, She is so cute.!

  • lmao, "get out dog!"

  • wowwwwwwwww!!!!!

  • That's A-MAZ-ING!

  • Great video! Love your daughter's hair..it's healthy and thick.

  • your daughters hair is beautiful

im 15 and i have never had a relaxer, and your daughter will appreciate it so much when she gets my age!

i have friends whos hair is so damaged for relaxers and trying to cover it up with weave.

i know all the pressure she is going through wanting to get the relaxer, but tell her the absolute BEST thing to do is to not get one! :)

  • OMG IOVE HER HAIR ITS SO PRETTY GREAT VID

  • I am envious of your daughter's thick, healthy head of hair:)

  • thats exactly like my hair except i'm half indian so i use a wire brush instead of a comb, lol, i have prize giving at my school 2morrow so i'm 11 and flat ironing my hair!!

  • dang! do my hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Love the video. I disagree with the others. I dont see where you were too rough at all. But then you do have some people that will take something and blow it all out of proportion. Her hair is healthy and she seems as if she enjoy getting her hair done. Keep ing doin what you do as a mother. Kudos to you.

  • I WISH THEY MADE FLATIRONS WHEN I WAS THAT AGE,BUT MY MOM USE TO USE THE HOTCOMB ON THE STOVE LOL!!!!

  • @JustBeAwesome1 - Your comment is taking this video way out of context. Your comment is respected, but to assume that I feel I own my daughter from a hair video is ridiculous. My daughter loves getting her hair done. Like I said in previous comments, I can understand why some believe that, I was rough, but if you really look at the video, you will see the real reason her head moves.

  • nice job thxhring for sharing!

  • @70sbyrdjah, Thank you and yes it does. It really keeps her hair conditioned during the drying process.

  • @TawanaNicole, Thank you ;o)

  • Your daughter has a beauuutiful and healthy head of hair! Seeing this vid reminds me of my grandmother pressing and foam roller setting my hair when I was a kid. Like you, she didn't want me to have a relaxer and kept my hair healthy without one. Nice work!

  • @joydubyadee, Lol and thank you ;o)

  • you take very good care of your childs hair! and it turned sooo beautiful!

  • @cassie5561, Thank you ;o)

  • I think you are so awesome for not relaxing her hair! She's going to LOVE you for it! Thanks for sharing!

  • @juicysyd18, Thank you and you're very welcome. ;o)

  • pretty good job... too much product used. I understand the reason for how much product was used but it is a common mistake.

  • @butterfliesxox, I'm a little lost with leave-in, heat protector topped off with oil being too much product? I use very little of this little bit of product. Less is more. A commom misconception is that what I use on my hair is all you need to use on your hair. Everyone is different. Use what works for you, but this works for us and proves to be healthy regimen for us. No damage, no breakage, no build-up.

  • @beautystudent08 Maybe it is hard to tell through the video, but it just looked a little greasy. either way kudos to you for not relaxing it!

  • @butterfliesxox - Thanks for the response, I understand what you mean, the oil sheen was added after her hair was flat ironed, prior to putting the rollers in.

  • Her hair is beautiful!!! Question: Is the silk product that you use some type of heat protectant? I worry about my ends being damaged if I flat iron my hair. How do you protect the ends from getting damaged when you blow dry and flat iron the hair?

  • @ondeemia, Yes, it is a heat protector. You want to make sure you apply minimal amount to the hair focusing on the ends. Make sure you don't keep the heat on the ends. Keep it moving when you get here. Make sure you use a good moisturizing/hydrating shampoo and conditioner. Make sure you're using a good leave-in. This will keep the hair well conditioned until your next shampoo.

  • @beautystudent08 Thank you for the advice. I am going to buy some of that silk stuff and an ionic hair dryer to see how things work. Her hair turned out beautiful and I'm glad you choose to keep it natural rather than perm it. Like others have stated, she will love you for it when she gets older.

  • she has vey pretty hair

  • @ShantaeNiicole18, Thank you ;o)

  • this is really pretty, do you have to put rollers on it again before she goes to sleep at night every night?

  • @Nnsull, Yes, every night. It only take about 8 minutes to do ;o)

  • she is so cute!!

  • @mzstephaniebayba , Thank you ;o)

  • Ur such a good mom 2keep ur daughter's hair natural! Trust me, she'll thank u in the long run! :)

  • ahh thats so pretty!! she will never need a relaxer !! shes got lovely fine hair!

  • This is awesome! I hope your daughter never decides to use a relaxer. Black women have natural beauty and should be proud of it =)

  • @RBCHILD4EV, Thank you and you're very welcome ;o)

  • For less damage you may want to use a hatchet style hair dryer and no oil before flat ironing or blow drying. That oil is frying her hair straight as the iron goes over it. That fine toothed comb to blow dry is also pulling out her hair. The dimethicone in that silk infusion makes the hair look healthy but over time it will make the hair dry and brittle. Holding that heat on there WOW! I couldn't watch this past 5 minutes because there were so many harsh things I saw... sorry.

  • @L0ve365 It's ok to disagree, but your comments are false. First, I did not have oil on her hair prior to flat ironing. Silicone works for some hair types not all. It works for me and my daughter that is why our hair is not thin & no damage. Her hair is mid -back length now and mine is close to bra-strap. Our hair isn't dry/brittle, especially mine being I've been using the same method for 6 years. There are other videos on YT for you, but this method has helped me and many others.

  • that turned out really pretty! at that age, no way was i going to sit down for that! lol.

  • @nenechicka, Thank you ;o)

  • Don't ever put relaxer in her hair!! If only I knew then what I know now!! I'm 46 and have had a perm for 30 years. I am going without a perm now, and this little girl has beautiful hair!! Relaxer - chemical - will break her hair off. She has healthy hair!! She's beautiful!!

  • @cintronrenettah, I won't and thank you ;o)

  • Do you know how many watts your blow dryer is? Also her hair looks great!!!

  • @phattygurlluv24 , Thank you, and it 1875 watts.

  • Real mothers understand girl! Lol

  • @CaliforniaCastles, Lol ;o)

  • be more gentle? Im lost because I never saw you being rough.( Lol) Her hair came out real nice and I always thought I needed to put 3 types of oil sheen to get that nice shine. do you trim her hair? if so how often?

  • @tharealtreal, Thank you! No, I only applied the oil sheen prior to rolling her hair. This shine came from Biosilk when flat ironing and the oil sheen prior to rolling her hair. I trim her hair as needed. Mostly every 3 to 4 months.

  • her hair is so pretty!

  • @Deobesobi, Thank you ;o)

  • i cant wait to i get my hair flat ioned yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • @ihatenoncommenters, Lol ;o)

  • is ionic blow dryer the only kind that will work for the pre-flatiron straightening?

  • @Ch0xie no, any blowdryer is fine

  • @LoveForPhysics, I don't know about that. Any brand maybe, but I choose the ironic blow dryers because they keep the hair soft and conditioned when drying the hair.

  • Just curious, why didn't you just roll her hair from the start? Instead of flat ironing it.

  • @rlw10101010

Because her hair wasn't as straight as I wanted it to be for a roller set.

  • She looks adorable. Thank you for making her still look like a cute little girl. Some of these hair styles and clothes parents buy for their little girls is SCARY!!!

  • @Sulu66

    Thank you ;o)

  • u know you dont really need to get her a relaxer cuz that just damages her curls just get her some treatment that's kind of a relaxer hope this helps you can find it in any DOMINICAN beauty salon. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOTHERS IN THE WORLD. by the way ma BIRTHDAY IS TODAY YAYY MEE

  • @jaylinn0105

Thank you. She will not get a relaxer while in my care ;o). Her hair is trained now. Her curls are more elongated when I shampoo, therefore it is easier for me to blow dry and flat iron.

  • your daughter's hair is beautiful natural, please remind her of that. she will regret it if she relaxes it believe me. :)

  • @tekimz

    Thank you and you're right!

  • ha! my mum use to do that to my head. Instead of just moving my head nicely, she would just yank my hair! why do mums do that??????! Its hurts!! And it makes the whole hair routine so much more uncomfortable! Oh well atleast i know how NOT to be with my kids when i eventually have them

    Great vid though! xx

  • Her hair is kinda thin u should never perm it, because more than likely it will really break. Her hair is too soft.

  • @wishywashygirl19

Actually her hair isn't thin at all.

  • trust me most balck people wou;d trade hari types if they could and getting black peopls hari don is hard work it takes 4ever but a lot of pain=a lot of beauty at the end

  • @xXRockyCoCoXx

It actually doesn't take forever to do. An hour isn't long at all.

  • I luv this video. I myself has totally stopped the usage of relaxers and my hair is definetly wreaping the benefits from not using and abusing anymore. I flat iron my daughters hair as well and I will never purchase another useless perm again because all it does it take out my hair and does not grow as well like it does when its natural.

  • @SoSoThikk

Thank you. I am glad you and your daughter are natural. It is the way to go. Now only if I can convince myself to go natural..... ;o)

  • i never get tired of watching this vid ... what a great job!!

  • @razz0dazzle

    Thank you ;o)

  • Great looking hair. thank you so much for taking the time to help keep your child's hair healthy and natural. If only more mom's would take the time to invest in their child and their hair. Thank you for the post and thank you for your consciousness. Best + Blessings

  • why all the yanking on the child's head?

  • her hair is beautiful..I am so glad i stopped getting relaxers..i wish my mom never started me on them

  • wow, her hair is longer than mines! (my hair is just on the shoulders)

  • @JustBeAwesome1 She was not handling that child's hair rough and you know it! You're just putting down her parenting skills to feel better about your own b/c you're probably the one doing actual REAL abuse to your own kids. Then you make yourself feel even more superior by throwing that god crap at her. Your pure jealousy at her doing a great job at her dughter's hair came through putting down her parenting skills for no reason. You are indeed a low-life....

  • Great vid but Amen I was blessed with boys lol. 2 days?? I'll find $50 and send her to the salon. In/out 2 hours. I hate sleeping in rollers and if I were a kid I'd rather be playing outside. Bring back memories of momma lining us girls up for the hot comb.

  • what flat iron did u use?

    great work

  • Please mama be lil gentle I'm tender headed lol

  • I thought it was harder than that....WATTA RELIEF! :-)

  • wonderful! never let your daughter get a perm, relaxer, or texturizer. her natural hair is beautiful! good job mama

  • You just gave me some very helpful advice for my 6 year old that loves her "long hair" as she calls it. *tee hee hee* I can't wait to try this technique on her natural hair. God bless.

  • im currently transitioning and i have had a relaxer so long i dont even remember what my curl pattern was like i hope its like your daughters ..it shouldnt be too bad since my moms mixed with white and black, she got sum good mixed people hair and my dad is bald so i dont know lol

  • wow...smh

  • Your daughters hair in it's natural state looks amazing! Can I ask how you (helped her) maintain it over the years? Simply by using the same products? Amazing head of hair. If I had haid like that I would not be thinking about heat, I'd just be throwing by soft bushly afro around all the time :) Gorgeous hair, makes me regret not caring about it until now :( (I'm 23)

  • my hair looks like that when it's straightened lol i kinda want a relaxer because it won't stay that way for the entire week!! my mom says that a lot of people would die for my hair my cousin got a relaxer and her hair looks gorgeous and i was thinking about it but now that i've seen this tutortial, i'll definitely tell my mom about it! :)

  • her hair is so long and pretty keep straightinning it out

  • What setting is your flat iron on?

  • wow thats nice. I can never get my hair to stay that str8 when i flat iron so i gave up. Thinkin about tryin it one more time.

  • @Babybabe99 Samee Thinq With Me

  • Wow now thats how these moms should be taking care of there kids hair.. Great video mom..

  • I was the same way when I was little. But now I wish I could get my hair back to the way hers is. Tell her her hair is gorgeous natural!

  • at 9:56 she looks like a doll...

  • see.. NO PERMS... and i love it!

  • Awesome video..I just purchased the Hype Hair Rollers yesterday and I am glad to know the results are good...Thanks :)

  • the very reason her hair looks so great is because it's NOT relaxed! very nice job. I hope she's smart and never chooses to have chemicals slowly eat her hair away... peer pressure be damned! lol [she has a gorgeous profile btw]

  • cool

  • Your daughter has beautyful hair. I have a five year old and her hair is natural. This is my second attempt to straighten her hair. I dont get the same results. Her hair is super thick and it seems as if I can never keep oil in her hair or on her scalp for that matter. Perhaps I am using the wrong products. I will make a list of the item you used. Thanks for the tutorial.

  • whatever you do don't give her a relaxer lol she's got gorgeous hair! i got my first one when I was her age and i 10 years later want my curly hair back

  • @Tuchie09

    Thank you, I won't ;o)

  • What a darling little girl. Im so glad you didnt relax her hair. Good job mommy. x

  • i love that flat iron...it is a miracle worker

  • Where can I purchase this flat iron?

  • Your daughter is sooo cute ! Thank you for this tutorial ! I'm actually using this tutorial for myself! I have natrual/ relaxed hair ! I havent had a relaxer in about 2 years soo i have a lot of growth! Thank you LOTS! best of luck to u n ur daughter!

  • Very informative video. My daughter has a pageant this weekend and I will be following your instructions. Thank you for this tutorial.

  • très jolie, votre video permettra à plusieurs mères a pouvoir bien coiffer leur enfants.

    Thanks

  • Very pretty!

  • i really like the way u take care of her hair. But plz be more gentle to her next time, she looks unhappy :(

  • Moms do not be caring... My mom was the same way with me b4 I got grown and cut all my hair off!!!

  • @Ashleyln16

omg me too! i cut mine off. TWICE!

  • @whitedaisez Yea... my hair is back to natural and its been growing FAST since I stopped perming and cutting it like a wanna be rihanna...lol

  • @whitedaisez

Thank you! Believe me, it was gentle. I know it didn't look like it, but we have our method/understanding down. Since some have made comments that I was just too rough, I will leave it like that. I will not justify with the explanation, but any mother who child acts the same would know the reason why. As far as her not being happy, it's because she didn't like the blow dryer back then, that's why she made the faces. Now, she doesn't have any problems with the blow dryer ;o)

  • Thanks for the information. My daughter has thick hair. I always wanted the perm look, but never could get it. I'll try the bio silk therapy and see how this works. Thanks!

  • her hair looks great!

  • Her hair is beautiful. I hope this makes her not want to relax.

  • i wish had as much experience with straightening natural hair... I grew tired of braids and begged for a relaxer. Now i am an adult transitioning back to natural hair... NICE JOB!

  • why was your daughter covering her eyes at the end i really tlove your daughters hair it really looks bouncy and silky it lovely

  • You take such good care of your daughter. I love how gently you speak to her while you are doing her hair. She must feel very valuable and loved.

  • Do you hot comb your daughter's hair too. My mother hot comb my hair to get to the kitchen because it doesn't really get straight by flat iron.

  • your daughter's hair is beautiful, can you tell me what products you use on her hair on a consistant basis - ie - shampoos and conditioners?

  • soo gorgeous!!..i am wathcing this with my 6 y/o daughter and am about to try ironing it for the 1st time!...she seen your daughters results and took the biggest gasp in and whispered .."WOW!"...hope hers looks as good!!

  • her hair is so pretty are you a hairdresser you did a good job.

  • Wow! What a wonderful transition; Where can i get a flat iron like that and do i have to have an ionic hair dryer? My hair is natural and I keep it twisted or braided alot, but I would love to have the straight look for a change.

  • lol she reminds me of my mom when she does my hair. apparently i cant keep my head still so she yells and forces my head down uhhh..mommy

  • wonderful job!! my mom took good care of my hair wen i was young like you are doing with ur daughter but as i got older i bugged her about getting a relaxer and she gave in--biggest mistake. im currently growing out my hair and after two years of having it relaxed. ur daughters natural hair is beautiful! make sure she never gets a relaxer! natural is the way to go!

  • Beautiful! Keep that hair on that girl's head momma!

  • She is gourgeous! Her hair looks very lovely.

  • i bought instyler of ebay for only $53, it works great . just type in 200422555229 in the ebay search

  • aww she is pretty

  • Have you finished beauty school yet?

  • Thank you for posting this, it really helped me alot. I have natural hair which I keep twisted all the time cause hair styling was not my gift but twist I can do. I would love to wear it straight sometimes just to give it a different look but didn't know how. So thank you again it relly helps.

  • She's only seven or eight and she has bigger earrings than me! lol

Her hair looks nice with just a blow dry.

I think my hair was that length when i was about her age, but now i'm fourteen and it's pretty long.

  • how beautiful your daughter is, her hair so beautiful. I am learning more and more about this flat ironing business. I want to go back to live a more natural life style.

  • Her hair is simply gorgeous! I hope she never gets a relaxer There are so many women who would pay hundreds for her hair

  • The irony is many women had hair like hers! Just didn't know what they were doing...

  • @NegritaTanRica I agree.

I use to have like that until I fell into peer pressure. Now I'm on my way to getting it back

  • I agree I used to have waist lengh natural hair in the 6th grade. Now im a freshman in college and want it back.

  • Your daughter is so pretty. I wish I had a little girl to doll up.

  • her hair is beautiful before and after the style. omg I cant wait to go natural and when I have a daughter I am not perming her hair

  • Is the biosilk a heat protectant?

  • @meiren21 its a leave in treatment it also protects the hair from heat

  • awesome job!

I cant wait till I can do my kids hair. :)

They aren't even going to know what a relaxer is

    lmao at "Get out dog!."

  • omg my hair was just like that before i got mii first relaxer like a couple of months ago. i miss mii natural hair. but it's much more managable for an on the go girl like me lol you did really good with this video i will be subscribing.

  • Your Daughter;s hair is so beautiful!! Pray that she stays natural her entire life!! lol I have been natural for 2 years now and I so happy!! I guess better late than never!

  • Hello, I just wanted to thank you about the Hype hair roller suggestion. I went to my local Walmart and girl those rollers are almost $8.oo a pack LOL! So What I did was went to the dollar store, got a pack of Foam rollers, and a silk scarf all for $2.00 !! When I got home, I just cut the scarf into pieces and wrapped the pieces around the rollers and it works great!! There is no pulling of the hair and since I too use a Chi Flat iron , the hair stays so smooth and shiny. Thanks! Stay blessed!

  • can u tell me more about chi flat iron

  • seriously

    she will be SO GLAD

when she's older that you didn't perm her hair at a young age, my mum permed my hair when i was 7, it thinned out to nothing and im 16 now and its just about at my shoulders, i'll never get a perm again

  • Her hair is so pretty. Tell her not to give into the peer pressure. My mom never let me get my hair relaxed when I was growing up but then when i turned 18 i decided to get a texturizer and get it bleached light brown. Biggest mistake of my life. My hair went from past shoulder length to ear length in 6 months. Its been about 9 months since the last treatment and I am loving my thick hair more then ever. I know this video is over a year old but hopefully her hair is still thick and pretty.

  • I have natural hair but when i flat iron it, it looks thin. The rollers are a good idea for hair volume. i think i'm going to walmart this weekend Thanks and your child's hair is gorgeous!! : )

  • Very Cute i love it but i thought using oil then flat ironing it burns your hair?

  • I love those rollers. Off to Wal-Mart I go!

  • aww, so cute. it's a damn shame how adults hate on children, anyway her hair looks beautiful

  • Comment removed

  • your chi flat iron is fake.

  • Ok, I'll bite. No my Chi is not a fake. I bought it directly from the company. Not online, in person. I've had this same flat iron for the last 4 years and it's still going strong. Most fakes break within the first 6 months. No need to come on here with stupid comments. It's not called for.

  • oh wow!

if i ever have kids, i'm keeping their hair natural. this is very inspiring.

    gorgeous hair. : )

  • Thank you ;o)

  • looks pretty but watch out for heat damage...
