I remember this its was great and it from a different time? Obviously! I remember seeing them at the George Square Theatre about '79 supporting the Cure. They did their now famous poem about the nuclear holocaust, all a treat and one of me favorite LP of all time, Author Author but now it make me feel old, hahahaha!!!!!
Aw, look how soft-spoken and fresh-faced y'all were back then!! This is the song my heart sings sometimes and the visuals are the stuff of beautiful dreams. This is really one of the best things about 1982 and I am eternally grateful for your having existed. Scars = ♥!!!
Fantastic stuff! I was in a band called Laughing House that supported theScars in Coventry. Sadly there weren't many people there that night, but they were great & really nice guys. Still love Author Author, should have been massive.....
I just visited Edinburgh for the first time...and scaled Arthur's Seat because of this video. Loved the windburn, the rabbits, and the teen goths getting wasted at that arch (2:02). It was great! Thanks for posting this!
The medusa is Guy Bennie - lighting engineer and original road crew... Jobs for the boys. We didn't really ask him to jump from the tower though, it was a camera slo-mo from a crane. The video was directed by Alex McDowell, once founder of 'Rocking Russian' Design in Soho London- now a legendary Hollywood production designer. The clothes were designed by Celia Matlock, wife of the original Sex Pistols bass player, Glen.
Great band - remember them well - but excessively BAD clothing - everything that stinks fashionwise about the early 1980s - bad bad new romanticism - how many more fans might they have gained if they looked different - i remember friends who were really put off by the bands visual image - refused to buy the LP cause of how awful they looked
such a shame they split up

Thank you Scoorie for letting me about these blasts from the past. God, how young we were but youth is only borrowed and you have to give it back.

How I wish the costumes had been vetoed by the band - they look much better in the live videos - personally I blame PRE
