@frankthemanification those words, are words from shakespeare time, the language of that time is called ELIZABETHAN... thou = you, thy = yours, doth = do, dost = did!!
Fuck shakespear hes gay who cares and we have to study this shit in english. who gives a shit!! really i dont care about a gay playwriter 300 yrs ago! like if u agree!!!
Wait, this is wrong! Antony did defeat Cassius' army, but Brutus defeated Octavian's army! this is critical because those were brutus' soldiers surrounding titinius, which this flawed video didn't even mention.
cassius has his slave stab him. again mentions nothing about sending titinius out and assuming he'd been capturing, which is one of the major ironies surrounding cassius' death.
Thanks- This helped with my homework! So basically this is the story:
The conspirators killed Julius coz they thought Brutus would be better, antony became angry and killed all the conspirators- except brutus and cassius, then cassius and brutus commit suicide because they noe they have lost?
@omarshafi111 Not that they thought Brutus would be better. See, Brutus's ancestor and others helped establish the roman republic. As a dictator Caesar threatened this. Even though Cassius had an ulterior motive because Caesar didn't like him. But the point is that Brutus's tragic flaw, (as the tragic hero of the play) was his idealism, and so he didn't rationally plan his actions and helped work against what government his ancestors had set up.
I thought the man, " This was a man" he mentioned was Brutus. So, did he means that Brutus was the "noblest man" in these characters? I thought it will be Mark Antony. Because he was a greatest orator and conqourer over to Brutus.
@MrVanluai It was Mark Anthonys opnion of what a man is! In england there is a poem it is called "IF" by Rudyard Kippling, It goes....if you can put away childish things, if you can be selfless, if you can be kind, if you can be good than a man you will be...So Mark Anthony saw a lot of good things in Brutus, even though he made the mistake of commiting murder, but a murder Brutus thought he did for JUST reasons while everyone else did it for selfish reasons like jealousy
@iLuvAkeys4ever that was also the only reason the other conspirators could get Brutus to go along with them, so they had him deceived in addition to their jealousy and fear. I've always wondered if Brutus had resisted them if they'd still have gone on with the plan and killed Brutus as well. To be honest I think they would have.
@therarglefrargle they killed him because they thought that julius' decisions were not to benefit everyone, so they didnt want him to be in power. At the end they decided to kill themselves because they knew either way they would be dead so instead of the army prosecuting them and taking credit for it they decided to kill themselves and take their own credit and also they were ashamed of what they did afterwards.
I love the ghost scene! And so glad Brutus and Cassius got what was coming to them. Anyway, they wasted their time, because all the Roman rulers had absolute power from then on.
Acctually Brutus wasnt at fault so much as Cassuis... Cassuis and poosibly some of the others wanted the throne for themselves... They swayed Brutus to their side by letting him believe that Ceaser would become a tyrant... so Brutus isnt really what I would call an antagonist here... more like a tool for Cassius (for the first 3 Acts at least...)
