  • ei, youtube, vai tomar no cú

  • Ahh, much prefer Ian's vocal style on this to the baritone style he does now

  • my family gets sick of hearing this tune lol. its sooooo goood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Que chimbaaaaa!!!

Nunca me canso de oir esta cancion

  • Seen The Cult 5 times and still mesmerized by the sound of Billy Duffy's guitar!

  • The Love album - I think it's the only album I've ever bought multiple times (the vinyl in 1985, first issue CD in 1990, remaster CD in 2000 and Omnibus edition in 2009) and still treasure every copy I have!

  • I love how Ian SINGS not SCREAMS, Billy and Ian...both highly under-rated.

  • every day, nirvana

  • This song has changed my life, now every day is like nirvana! The Cult 4ever!

  • Did you mention Lady gag gag in the same sentence as true artists?! The Cult has been a favorite of mine for quite awhile now, but not many people I know now(Later in life) have ever heard of them. I played a couple videos today for my HS students, and they were blown away!!!!!!

  • 110,000 views?! Wow, Lady Garbage would garner that in a couple of days. Doesn't it make you feel a little smarter watching this video? Like you know something that the majority of mankind doesn't....The Cult is one of the greatest bands ever! I feel privileged that I came across these guys in the mid 80's

  • I read where Billy mentioned that all the stations in the UK back then were playing nothing but POP BS and all the Synth crap that started when Punk was dying, and thats all they would play, just mainstream nonsense, and they would purposely overlook anyone like him and ian and ignore it all. In order for them to get noticed, they needed to leave the UK, along with others like Depeche Mode, New Order, The Smiths, etc..

  • Yea, its sad these guys flew under the radar for song, but i think it sorta foreshadows their name. It's like they are a 'cult' to people who really appreciate what they are about.

  • I can't get enough of the Love album, it's just an amazing cd with that awesome 80s sound to it :)

  • what an amazing solo.

  • Mezmerising, Ian and Billy look like they are from different decades yet compliment each other on stage so beautifully. No other band had this echoey, soaring sound with a relentless beat. And it sounds even better today when you can appreciate it compared to other stuff out there now.

Billy so serious. Ian so flamboyant. So much talent in one band.

  • gotta completely agree

completely overlooked by the music establishment as a whole and to see some of the shite now on the air and on tv makes me sick

astbury and duffy have arguably been two of the best songwriters of the last 30 years

anyone whos heard 'embers' will have to agree, fucking magical

  • fecn rokin lol

  • Love this live version with the original line up, booming rhythm section!

  • wooow, really cool song :P It really sounds like NIRVANA :D lol

Love dat Chorused Guitar... makes me want to start a new wave band.

  • Did Ian get sorted into Gryffindor with that hat? just kidding, LOVE has always been my favorite album

  • Love is album that will never get old. Just bought the box set. I can't believe I have been listening to this for 25 years. There are few bands from high school that have stood up the test of time.

  • Underrated is an understatement! Completely overlooked and they should of had more success back in the day. And Billy Duffy was beyond criminally underrated! Everything in their music is simplistic back to the basics rock and roll with their own unique flair. Great stuff.

  • Billy Duffy has SUCH stage presence! So serious, and capable. And don't forget the great hair.

  • Why d all you groupies talk about riffs and toe tapping,...there is a deeper message in music and in their CULT themes, find a balcony fuckers. sorry balance..wanna mosh only? boring....LOL fuck you all can talk some shit

  • Comment removed

  • The Cult una banda no tan reconocida de los 80's, les dejo un videito del album "Love" muy recomendable.

  • all-four-musketeers!! fresh gr8 sound!!

  • They do not look to me so underrated ´cause they are just like my spirit... so appreciated in my soul, and it will never dies!!!!

  • wicked witch of the south.

  • tell me is their any band today that comes close to this mid twenty year olds yet so tight sounding and the look so original the cult had only mid grade success for their time but blow away any of the new shit of today

  • Comment removed

  • They are so good. Ian Astbury was so good looking and only improves with age. Awesome voice!

  • see you in Orange County tonight!

  • brilliant track!

  • I will always hate myself for missing this show. I was too busy going to metal shows at that time.

  • LOL.......Billy and Ian were at it long long before Kurt Cobain......

  • @ABTE67 Yeah. Seeing that The Cult came before them. lolz

    idiot

  • Billy Duffy on guitar. Oh man!

  • Killer show..A couple of whiskeys and a tab of X .sure didn't subtract.

  • A young Cult. One of the better shows I attended in the 80's in my ealy 20's. Wish their were more bands like this today but alas, it's mostly refried shit now. No originality.

  • I always thought The Throbs wanted to be The Cult, I liked The Throbs.

  • como no dejar de ver esta gran banda de ROCK N ROLL influenciadora de grandes viajes mentales fuera de todo status. the Cult tus sonidos y tus letras son eternas, buen rock eterno!!!!

  • OMG I was at that show, up front of course! The Ritz was a GREAT venue!

  • I wish I were you!

  • do you think Kurt Cobain like really loved this song???

  • man, Billy rides that guitar like a lightning bolt,go boy!

  • Billy Duffy is one of the most criminally under-rated lead guitarists in rock history, IMO.

  • Well said, I agree 110%

  • Hey, thanx 4 the kind words. 36e. Billy, Ian, & Co. could (& still can) bring the ROCK. I got to see them this summer @ The Palms here in LV.

  • Billy Duffy isn't lead, he's friggin THE guitarist

  • True, and I kind of stand corrected, which I don't really mind. But, Americans often refer to THE guitarist in a one-guitar band as the lead guitarist, even though there's no rthymn guitarist.

  • Amen. Saw them last night at Amos' Southend in Charlotte NC. Opened with Nirvana and it sounded just as awesome as it did in 85. Ian had his Jim Morrison thing going on. Awesome!

  • Cool! Speaking of the Jim Morison vibe, I got to see Riders/Doors2the21st/whatever here in LV @ the Palms as well; same casino, but I think that it was a different venue in The Palms.

  • I totally missed that tour when they came through here with Ian up front. Kicking myself ever since! Thanks for the note.

    Party on Garth!

  • You must mean the Astbury-fronted Doors tour?

Excellent, party on, Wayne!! (Cue the guitar riff.)

"This man blows goats; I have proof!"

  • That's the one. Nice comeback!

  • Thanx for the kind words, tmc.

"If she were a President, she'd be Babe-raham Lincoln!"

  • I was at that show, too! It was incredible!!!!

  • One of the best I've seen. Amos' is a great place for a show.

  • Yeah, we drove down from Raleigh for the show. Amos' really is a great venue. I met Ian and John Tempesta outside and took some pics with them. One of the highlights of my life for sure!!!! I'm seeing them again in Raleigh next week...cant wait!

  • Awesome. Can you email couple of those pics if I give you my email address?

  • Where are they playing in Raleigh?

  • @TheLegendfamily You're so right:

Riffs from: Lil Devil, Wild Flower, Fire Woman, Sun King + many more have all stood the test of time as have most of the solos. Top, top guitarist.

  • @birchy007007: Thanx for the kind words, birchy, & I agree w/you 100%.

  • @TheLegendfamily

I agree 100%. Duffy produce a lot of nice riffs since early 80´s. Brazil loves Cult forever!

  • @zelucadorock: Nice to hear from the Brazilian chapter, zeluca!! ;D

  • @TheLegendfamily I agree 100%

  • ian did vary well as he allways do .vary good singing and the band played on vary well . rock on to the cult never change .

    ty ms patty daniel.

  • Think I've got the whole video of this show on VHS somewhere!

  • Always this way ., nirvana. this song rocks talking to u now

    Now We Know

  • So smooth!!!

  • I had (ONE) of the most AWESOME 2 minutesof my life waaaaaaaaaay back in the early nineties. It was at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento,CA I was there to see my all-time favorite band...METALLICA! Low and behold, whom was sitting next to me in the upperseats...IAN himself! What a stud! I was in my...200th bit-of-heaven (sry all...I'm a bit of a...groupeeee from way back when!) And all I can say is... it was sheer..."NIRVANA!"

  • wow

what a vision - I could have just died

  • so did you get lucky?

  • lucky you i wish i could meet him it would be vary nice

ty patty daniel of peoria iv never been to lucky on meeting any one like that but luck for some is a wonderful thing to have happen .best to you hun .

  • There is simply no one like the Cult and this was their best era.

I would give anything to have seen this show.

  • I jus love this song.... and the LOVE album is the Cult's crowning artistic moment... The majority will say U2 redefined "ROCK" in the 80's... but it's not so, and this album proves it.... The real unsung innovators of the transition of "Alternative" Rock. I love everything they do, - "but all the pre- ELECTRIC stuff is really the best.... Ian Astbury has such character in his voice, and i love 2 hear him SING in that beautiful baritone instead of cheap rock growling... Long Live THE CULT

  • went to see the cult twice around 84 & 85 just before she sells sactuary was released ...wicked band live...especially when they kick out stuff like louie louie by the kingsmen for an encore...top stuff

  • Kurt loved this band and this song. I think he named his band after this song.

  • I can believe that

  • I may get abuse for this lol, but I think Jamie is the coolest on stage, he just looks like he's really into it all the time and really rocks out :)

  • awesome bit from 3:20 onwards

  • Nirvana Nirvana Nirvana yeah yeah paska laulu muuten

When in Atlanta Ga i use to do the Mid -Town Music Festival . the CULT did the last song , on that stage ,. and i HAVE never SEEN SO MANY pEOPLE Jumping to Gitar . • Holymoll!!! AWESOME stuff. One of my cult´s favoured songs.

  • orgasmic i just known this song 2008, music has no time, music goes beyond everything baby, god is a musician!

  • This may be the Cult's best live performance ever. The sound is so tight. Just perfect. And to me the best cult line up with Ian, Billy, Jamie and Lez Warner on Drums. Brilliant!!!!

  • cocaine make the rules at this time... rock on IAN

  • love is one of the best albums of all time

  • just love it love it love it...

  • ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! 10 times better live that on CD! Billy could really do it all by himself!

  • This is my first time listening to this track in 20 years. But to this day I still remember the little indiosyncracies of this live performance. Awesome to hear to again.

  • the break of this song is fantastic , PurePoster, I agree, but they were obligued by the company to change their sound to hi the USA( confidential info grlfrd of road crew drummer ), this concert was an isle amid MichaelJackson/DuranDuran, remember 1986/7 they were aiming towards Motley Crew and the new LA glam scene, this music was so ´British´ very The Cure/Mission not so big at the time, anyway they loved the USA

  • LOVE-- hands down-- is the best Cult album. Hell, the best album ever! I wish they stuck with this formula, rather than listening to Rick Rubin and becoming more hard-edged. They had such a unique sound and look. True trailblazers for the time.

  • saw this tour in frankfurt '86...the album and this show changed my life...

Having said that, I love this song and can't seem to find it on any album....Death Cult, Southern Death Cult or any The Cult album for that matter. • words can't even begin to explain the magic of the cult :)

that voice...that sound...i think i've died and gone to heaven

  • This is the best concert video they ever did! We need the whole thing posted! Billy Duffy rocks the sh$% out of those strings. Ah, and long lost Jamie Stewart plucking bass. Nothing better.

  • I don't get what you mean by that. Please explain Nechepsos!!??

  • if someone would ever mention the 2 words 'rock' & 'nirvana' I would always associate this song - which I loved since it 1st came out. Kurt Cobain and his band took over that association and cheated me of that. That is what I meant and I still think is one of their best songs. every... day... nirvana... al... ways the same... yeah... yeah... yeah....

  • the cult is nirvana!!!

  • Yes, they are nirvana! This is unbelievable footage!

  • I don't care what they say about Ian's role in the doors. Some say he was trying to be Jim (noone can be Jim)!. He Just brought his music back foe another generation to enjoy.

  • I totally agree firewoman80!!!!

  • Thank you!! I love it when a guy agrees with me on somethng!
