physics dictates that a pendulum motion is far more efficient than a jackhammer motion. when you play with one pedal, your energy in your leg is traveling in a jackhammer motion. slam down, rebound foot up, stop energy in mid air, slam back down.

when you play with two feet or two pedals, your feet are sending kinetic energy up one leg, through your pelvis, and back down to the other leg, if you're moving correctly, this makes doing double pedals or two feet extremely easier than one if you have the coordination and experience to do double bass.

I still can't believe this is only a 5 on drum difficulty wheras I can play The Trees no problem on Expert and it's Red on drums.

I'm hoping the next rock band will let you edit the difficulty if the player believes Harmonix didn't rate it properly and the song would adjust itself into a different difficulty category.

How long did it take you to get your leg to go that fast, i know you've been drumming for 5 years, but was it the full 5, or did you hit your leg speed peak and remained there?

Well, before drums, i'd been playing DDR since 2000. Years of playing that game, getting up to speeds of even 12 steps a second before Rock Band came out, that helped a LOT with foot speed/stamina.

The fastest i've been able to do is around 13 steps a second on DDR which translates to 7.5 hits a second: on drums, I can do everything on RB/GH so far, so at least 8.5 hits a second with one foot.

I'm probably pretty close to my peak, but not there yet: i can still improve :P

people get better: generally the later you start playing rock band and the younger you are, the better your potential is to be good at the game as well as how fast you can get good at it.

this is because the younger you are, the faster you learn, and the later you come into a video game, the more videos, tutorials, quality equipment, and difficult songs are available for you to utilize to get better.

don't get me wrong: i don't see this as unfair, it's just how things are.
