  • reminds me of Chuck Schuldiner sometimes xd

  • Great version, but the Sepultura cover is better than the Dukes version!!!

  • @MotorheadNL I Think the sepultura cover is good, but dukes is probably my Idol as a vocalist, and dukes kicks ass man!

  • this version pumps me up

  • this is heavier but no one can match the intensity the paul brought Kill all posers

  • sepultura y no hay mas

  • I think it sounds sick!!

  • @maceek1 same. not that i hate the vocals on the original but the recording quality was such crap

  • I would like to clarify that Nu-Metal has nothing to do with thrash. Thrash is pretty much on the opposite end of the spectrum in comparison. How the hell can you compare Exodus' tempo with a Nu-Metal band... that's the most obvious huge difference. If you want to say "oh man, exoduse sounds like a NEW metal band" with that over production sound then be my guest, but don't mix facts. Nu-metal and Thrash should never be mentioned in the same sentence...

  • @blackwaterdrowning : it's fucking heresy man!

  • if Paul be in this album...this will be 100000000000000000000x better than the original...but Rob Dukes ruined BONDED BY BLOOD ALBUM.

  • i'm learning how to play this song as we speak & will cover it real soon. killer riffs from the forefathers of bayarea thrash

  • awesome drunms

  • the remake is very very, more fast

  • Six Feet Under does a wicked cover of this song, check it out if you haven't already.

  • thats great \m/

however, i so fuckin' much preffer the classic version

  • the original is way better, the raw production makes it more authentic, more aggressive and thrashier!

  • Rob Dukes > Zetro > Baloff

Baloff just was never a good singer in my opinion, his voice makes me cringe.

Zetro's pretty good, but Dukes just takes the chalice and holds it up with might.

    Either way Exodus #1 \m/

  • rob isnt as good as paul but in my opinion hes better than zetro.

  • I think this is better than the originals.

  • We were just covering this today :3

  • The original is better ;)

  • Fucking great this album remains me the first strike still deadly album by testament

  • loving all of the remakes, giving exodus future taste!

  • good song......but the original is better

  • PIRANHA OF BONDED BY BLOOD, IS THE BEST

  • this song kicks ass!!!! i hope someday they come to rio de janeiro!

  • The vocals sound a lot like "Mille Petrozza" from Kreator

  • damn, the intro to this song is what i loed about it, now its ruined, it sounds like static in a tv. why do bands have to do this? first destruction, now exodus... >:(

  • i have been with exodus since they were a local band in the bay area. rob dukes sucks. baloff and souza are far better than dukes. this recording is wrong on every level, and is an insult to past members of exodus and the true exodus fans

  • All the argument over which version of this song is better and no one even mentions the ~best~ version of this song. Forget who wrote it, or who has died, or whatever. ~Unquestionably~ the best version of this song is by Sepultura. Fucking speed metal.

  • @HohoCreampie so did u lol

  • I like this, but the original was better. And stop having fights over who's the better singer, they all have talent!

  • only baloff is true. he didnt deserve to die

  • not even close

  • better than the original for me....fdont start insulting i like Rob Dukes better

  • i dont like this... and i LOVE exodus..., sorry ill stick to the original with Paul Baloff's awesome vocals

  • The frontcover is the only thing that is better than by the original

  • Not bad, but too slow.

  • Doing this stuff to their music makes it more accesable to modern audiences who are used to high production. While I know that sentence sends up alarms in metalheads worldwide (I know, I know), it does attract more attention to this kind of music. After all, anyone who wants to can find the originals.

  • Original sounds 10x better. I don't understand why bands find it necessary to down tune their classics. Ruins it.

  • well they do it if they changed their sound a lot, like exodus, but megadeth needs 2 stop doin that

  • ...Megadeth doesn't downtune.

  • yea im talkin bout rerecordin or remastering ther old stuf

  • Yes they do. . . KIMB and Peace Sells are 1/4 step down (yea I know not much, but still) and the Youthanasia is tuned down 1/2 step.

  • @razorslice17 I know that, i just mean they don't anymore.

  • @exile166

    thts fucking right

    it sounded sick :original

no fuckin homo triggers or bullshit

old school thrash bro for the fuckin win !

  • @exile166

for a start if youd watched the exodus dvd youd know that gary wanted to redo it as a tribute to paul baloff and he also wanted to record it as he thinks its his best album and he wanted it to have the sound of the records that are around now

  • @dimerules88

For a start. I dont have to have a dvd to know the classic is better and this sucks compared to the original. Sounds like something Disturbed could've done.

  • @exile166

pfffft ur a funny guy lol loser

  • @exile166 Then dont listen to this then, simple as.

  • @exile166 this is not bad but i agree...

  • @exile166 agreed

  • @exile166

    then dont listen to it.

  • @exile166 I think it is a matter of taste, really. Actually, i think this version is more killer and way better than the original "piranha" track. My opinion overall. : )

  • This version is much better than the older one, he had a voice like if a dead was singing :|

  • @JediStamos hey fuck you . the original is 20x better

  • This version sounds like the six feet under cover...

  • what? The voice is completly different!

  • I mean the production of the song (guitars, bass drums). The overall sound reminded me of that, not the performance. Got it???

  • @prokyon70 It's Rob Dukes singing, the new singer. This is from the re-recording album Let there be Blood. If you only have their old stuff then you're in for a treat. Atrocity Exhibition:A is a stellar thrash album!

  • hmmmm

    i prefer the standard tuning.

  • No i have a chocolate spoon I wanted vanilla you lawn troll.

  • fucking drums men theyre so SIC AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nada se compara ao saudoso Paul Ballof e tenho orgulho de um dia ter estado ao lado dele...RIP maan!!

  • this virgens better

  • duke sucks

paul baloff was the best, is the best and always will BE the best!!!!

  • I prefer Souza myself, but yeah, anyone's better than this fag.

  • no man this version has more energy other thing its that Paul Died that changed everything but this version IS PURE FUCKING THRASH

  • @vodoomadness no way. not even close. the original had young energy... this is old man energy

  • Rip Paulie

    You WERE metal

  • Holt may BE Exodus but Lee is a bad mother! And screw all the Dukes haters, they probably still have mullets and gay spiked leather arm bands,THE 80"S ARE LONG GONE GUYS. I swear to God some of these dudes sound like my grandpa talking about the music from "the good ole days".

  • yea yea

    this is still shit

  • in the 80´s music was so much better:) Dukes is OK vocalist on their new songs, but in old songs he sucks!

  • I think in old stuff you just get used to it being that way ( I know I do sometimes ). I just feel that if Dukes had came first everybody would be bad mouthing HIS replacement ;) . I don't agree that 80's music was better myself, I grew up thru the 80's, I'm GLAD things have changed. Producers finally learned how to record this stuff without 99% mids and treble tearing your eardrums out. I like that bands write about more mature subject matter too.Even at 17 I thought a lot of it was cheezy! :)

  • I don't like dukes, he's too screamo and screamo does not fit on Exodus.

  • no matter when he would came in exodus

  • Ha ha! I like you man your just honest, I can deal with different tastes and likes. I will say Zetro ( in the song War Is My Shepherd) did what "I" call screamo, in other words something so high pitched you have a hard time understanding it. If I can't make out the words, THAT'S what "I"(just me) call screamo. I can understand Dukes, to me he just sounds pissed off. I'm real old school I guess, I grew up on Foghat, and BB king. Exodus is the only thrash band I REALLY- REALLY love. Be cool man!!

  • @bloodmoonblooz obviously you dont like metal and your a fag...

  • @bloodmoonblooz your a dumbass.. your opinions are stupid

  • @morbidsaint1 Wow!, some child hurt my feelings, I'm gonna go boo hoo now. LoL. I was listening to metal before the best part of you dripped out of your mamas twat, so whatever. I don't care what you think of me OR my opinions, and I'm sure you feel the same so we're cool, I'm gonna go back to my beer now . Take it easy dude.

  • This is fucking slow.

  • i acctually like his voice but yee not s good as baloff but still great metal vocals

  • man rob dukes is definetly not exodus style they should get some one similar to zetro or paul balof

  • "Rip out your eyes, tear off your flesh an agonising death" Best line ever! This is the first time I heard the remake having had the original for years. I don't see why everyone has a problem with this IMO it has gave it a fresher sound. Maybe a bit of a cash in but still I may get this re-recorded cd, I have the original anyway so would be nice to have both versions.

  • This is okay but they shouldn't have tuned down. And Baloff kicks the holy shit out of Dukes any day of the week.

  • Agreed, they shouldn't have tuned down. And Zetro is also loads better than Rob Dukes!

That said, this isn't too bad. Just isnt as ferocious or as vital as the original.

  • q la bateria no suena computarizada sino q el hdp es un buen baterista y si es cierto suena mas limpia... aunq en esta cancion el sonido de la bateria me gusta mas en el cover q hace avulsed

  • ooof who let this cocksucker in the band. One of my fav. exodus tunes ruined.

  • What the fuck does this song have to do with nu metal? It sounds nothing like nu metal.

  • @Daftajest who said it should it is exodus the best -thrash metal- band ever so why should it sound like fucking nu metal?

  • @TheMetalkey Some dumbass compared my beloved Exodus to shitty nu-metal. I don't feel like digging through the archives of the comments because I hardly remember this comment, so feel free to do so yourself :)

  • Props to Rob Duke for trying, but I just can't get over Souza's absence. I love when old bands rerecord stuff though. Anthrax's Greater of Two Evils is just a rerecording and I honestly feel it turned out to be their best album. -shrug-

  • Fuck Dukes. His vocal's just boooooring.

  • Baloff was way better but Dukes is good too

  • the shitty recording sound back then deffinatley gave this song a better taste, this is kinda to clean for me

  • This is one is more thrashy to todays standards, but the old version with that poor recording sound quality and baloff's voice was pure classic thrash! That's why those remakes suck

  • its really awesome remake of old piranha

  • where's the HQ? sounds 'junkie'......just sayin..

  • This is actually really awesome, but they shouldn't have slowed it down. Also Dukes did ok but I still wish souza woulda done this one.

    Thrash 'Till Death!!! \m/

  • prefer the drums here

  • I like the thing they did for Baloff's laugh. It sounded more evil then Dukes'.

  • not bad but i prefer the bonded by blood album

  • true that..

  • This ain't bad, it's way heavier sounding than the first, i mean Dukes is good, he's not Baloff but he's good and Baloff is dead so i think this is the best we're gonna get so stop fucking whining unless you faggot ass posers can do any better

by the way this has ABSOLUTELY NO nu metal feel WHATSOEVER, you need to pull your head out of your ass and take a look & listen to the definition of nu metal fucking queer

  • well spoken man. im glad i found someone that feels the way i do. baloff died and souza left by choice and dukes isnt as bad as all you assholes say he is. you know what he is doing that you fags arent doing. its keeping a 27 year old thrash band still going. Once one of you fags do that then we will talk

  • true rob isnt paul but rob has paul's atittude if ya know what i mean if you see exodus live today the performances are impossable to beat exodus are the greatest live band and heaviest and fastest band of all time plus the godfathers of thrash these guys invented thrash not metallica GARY HOLT IS GOD!!!!!! R.I.P PAUL!

  • actually your wrong. there are so many bands that came out within that era that they all contributed to its invention. metallica anthrax slayer and (unfortunatly) megadeth are the 4 biggest and best known

  • @Assaultthrash What, there is a definition of nu-metal beyond gay and repetitive?

  • @Assaultthrash Heavier is better.

  • Excellent remake of a classic

  • BOTH ALBUMS KICK FUCKIN ASSSSSSS!!!!

  • The singer is trying to hard to be heavy instead of just being heavy, they took a great thrash album and fucked it up with that shitty nu metal feel.

  • asshole! you know nothing about this band so get the fuck out! this is pure thrash!!! dumbass poser!

  • Comment removed

  • Tempo of the Damned is also a great album, just like other Ex albums..Steve Souza is indeed done a great job replacing the great Baloff even for a short period!!! EXodus Rules!!!

  • man, sorry, but this is nothing compared to the original. i mean back in the day Piranha was one of the finest thrash songs. it had aggression, it was fast, complex and it was fun to listen to. This version is sloppy, overproduced and it seems so.. forced.

Why do bands have to re-record perfect classic songs anyway? in order to make money? or did they think they would make it better if they produced it more heavily?

  • You know, I , for some reason, like the new Exodus more. I think that the old Ex was too... What word is best for this... 80's thrash-like. I just don't like the style of thrash that they were in, but i think that ballof was a good singer. I also think that new Ex is heavier.

  • Baloff was indeed excellent.. Well, the new Exodus is definitely heavier, the production is better and they use drum triggers to get that heavy bass drum sound.

Well, I think Tempo of the Damned was their best new album and is equal to their old albums.

  • yeah, paul baloff is indeed great (r.i.p)!! rob dukes is also great and 'shovel headed kill machine and 'atrocity exhibition..exhibit A' are awesome albums!!! definitely better albums.. cant wait for 'Atrocity Exhibition..Exhibit B'

  • didn't know that the next album would be titeled "Exhibit B" But nice concept! When is it going to come out?

  • yeah man, they will release it on August of this year..

  • I think in the US, it will be release this june..

  • a band should adopt itself to a changing times,dude..80s thrash is different from today's man...more aggresive, the heavier is better!!! exodus rulez!!

  • you should open your mind that the sound of the 80's is different from now..and this version of Bonded by Blood called Let there be Blood is also awesome!!

  • True, but my problem with the new Thrash sound (not only Ex's but also for instance Kreator's, Megadeth's or Slayer's) is that it seems to me like a mixture of their 90s and 80s music. It combines the melody of the 90s with the power of the 80s. And that doesn't work for me because if you mix two styles, then none of them will be excellent in one song. And I also think that new thrash riffs are less memorable. (logically, most interesting riffs have already been used)

  • agh... don't get me wrong iv'e been a fan of exodus for a long time but.. eh... for some reason i enjoy this more. whatever, just my own opinion you all have yours.

  • stop fucking talking shit about dukes already he is really good I liked Exodus with all their singers and I hate that no one really mentions souza that guy was there for the majority of their career and is fucking amazing Its cool for the respect for Baloff but dont slag on the others guys Exodus attack as long as Gary is there seriously

  • Rob Dukes sucksass

  • Fuck rob dukes! fucking poser! Hail Baloff & Souza!

  • i think they are all good

  • muy lento =/

  • this is a good song, of course the original is better ...

  • its just not the same.. :/

  • I like the old rougher sounding recordings myself.

  • Nothing about this is better than the original. Especially the production. The triggered drums are fucking stupid. Hunolt's solo part is not as good. The vocals are absolute shit.

PAUL BALOFF IS MORE METAL THAN ALL OF YOU!!!

  • Because clearly, it's ALL about who is most metal. Not about producing good quality music...

  • Shut up. This is not good quality music.

  • Anybody who says this doesn't know shit about thrash metal.

  • I know enough, granted I'm not a huge fan of the genre but I like it when it's good.

Baloff's main problem was him burying his voice under cheap sounding effects.

But he also had no idea how to scream, and didn't know how to push his voice using bad technique.

    at least in the recordings

    maybe he was better live

but to say a vocalist is a defining standard of thrash metal is ridiculous. vocalists are more or less disposable. Not always, but more often than not.

  • don't you have Slipknot vids to watch?

  • The original version was better but I hate old recordings so I perfer this version.

  • At least new Exodus is better than new Slayer.

  • Pff whatever, its all about Greenday

  • Many people lives in the past... Baloff was good, but he only record 1 album (and a demo).

Exodus is Gary Holt. He fight for the band in the past, and he fight for the band in present time. His riffs and guitar solos are amazing.

    ¡¡¡LONG LIVE GARY HOLT!!!

  • There is some truth to what you say about Holt, it is his band and he can do whatever he wants with it, but it wasn't Holts riffs or leads that captured our attention in the 80's, it was Baloff's sadistically angry voice. Baloff sounded like a certifiable maniac, and Bonded By Blood is the only Exodus I will listen to or recognize as Exodus. Baloff was Exodus, without him there is no Exodus, period.

  • he was only good in exodus, I heard him in Heathen and he was absolutely awful

  • Yes, I agree with you. Baloff was awful!

  • without the past, ur life would've no sense

  • Maybe. But I'm NOT a slave of the past. I respect the past, but I love and I live the present...

Oherwise, you can have the best fucking lyrics in the world, but without awesome music, only sounds like shit. And that is the reason why the real spirit, heart and soul of Exodus is Holt. He play like anyother in Thrash. He is the BEST thrash guitar player of all times...

    ¡¡HOLT = GUITAR GOD!!!

  • This reply seems to be popular, but Its quite ironic and puzzling at the same time. Its actually quite contradictory. On one hand, you claim to "live in the present" while singing the praises of a 25 year old album. Even if it is rerecorded, its still old materiel.

  • Of course, the "materiel" is old... But exist some differences with the original record:

    *Guitars and bass tune

    *Guitar solos (some notes)

    *Singer

    *Drums (hear this and compare)

I know that Tom Hunting record the original and the new drums. But drums are a little different!

    ¡¡¡PEACE!!!

  • WTF?! NO!!! You have created a monster, this song blows, and personally i hate the new vocalist, he doesnt even fit Exodus, Why cant they play with Souza anymore, hes not Baloff but hes better than this Shit.

  • lame! BALOFF IS EXODUS.. BONEDE IS BONDED... suck my balls gary... way to fuck shit up gary! used to like this song.. BONELESS RECORDS TO PAY TRIBUTE TO PAUL BALOFF look it up on myspace: My URL: myspace. com/your_a_fuckin_retard

  • i just realized im commenting to a bunch of kids who werent even born when this cd came out! its about capturing the sound of what should of been that wasnt there back in the days that you hear present in the new wave of metal. thats all, dont try and disect it
