  • I really enjoyed this! Great camera work and narrative! Very well put together and pleasing. This is the kind of video I want to make

  • @MikeFromSF thank you! was my first film with a cast!

  • This little guy waited all the way till June for me! He knew id be comin up that destined path! Great film, love the perspectives and i want to know the gnome, the gnome unknown! :D Bravo!!

  • @cooksterz thank you, the gnome is on a mission to save the world! (better get cracking! lol)

  • What a wonderful collab! Congrats! Luv that voice, too :)

  • @LizBizToo thanks Liz. The voice is another youtuber, I love his voice!

  • This is great~ !

  • @HeidiSaid thanks beautiful! x

  • Bravo! Sheared on Facebook

  • @LeSaMilano is the gnome mother earth

  • @philosage I like the way you think

  • Absolutely brilliant, well done (again!) Lesley!

  • This voice is Theramintrees.

  • @Loustrikesagain good ears!

  • @LeSaMilano He just has such a distinguishable voice.

  • Loved this :) anthropomorphizing objects and the secret lives of objects is fascinating and the context of being freed from the garbage heap and taken to the woods makes me smile :)

  • @DJBerber Thanks - we were on a mission to save the world! Or something like that LOL

  • Brilliant work as usual!

  • @phekwig Thanks Andy, we made this a year ago and had to get away from it for a while to be objective. - you know sometimes when you are too close or involved with something and you get sick and tired of looking at it? 'nuff said! lol

  • What a great video. You definitely don't fit in any box and we all love that about you!

  • @NaturalTwentyFilms We've outgrown our Victorian Box - it's bursting at the seams with guitar parts and cigar boxes! Thanks Carl xx

  • Loved this, but, I love all of your work ms. very talented lovely lady;-)

    xo

  • @blueclouds4me Thanks Mary Lou, lots of mixed emotion surrounding the time I made this film - it was very hectic, frustrating, exciting and , I suppose - worth it - as I learned a lot- not just about film making but about myself. Kind of gave me some direction! xxx

  • @billyCtv Thanks so much Billy. This was the first film project I did at school which was a 'collaboration'. Made for some intense moments, but was all worthwhile and valuable experience. I left it on the shelf for a year because I was tied of looking at it by the time I finished but now I like it again!

  • I remember when the gnome was kidnapped and travelled the world with the kidnappers sending pics along the way :)

  • @MotherReiver oh right - wasn't that a troll? notatrolltraveling?

  • I always leave smiling when I come by your corner!

  • @Jervns you should come round more often! xx

  • I should do a gnome video. I could put him in a clay chair and have him tell what the Latin name is for various plants. I could call it Gnomeinclaychair:) He could give HotForWords some competition, LOL.

  • @Blinkazoid Good idea. Maybe you could name him Gnomer Simpson. LOL

  • Brilliant collab!!!!

    Thanks for the grins.

  • @Elaina43 thanks Elaina , was quite a learning experience!

  • Great film Lesley! Whew, all that hard work paid off I'd say. As if I didn't already feel like a slacker on the video front here lately, reading your description made me feel even more so, LOL.

Loved the little wise and laid back guy. Us people have the human genome project. I guess this was your ceramic zen gnome project:)

  • @Blinkazoid Thanks Robert. We made this over a year ago and we were so sick of it after editing (and evaluative coursework) so it was shelved for a while. I thought I'd dust it off (and make a few editing changes now that I know what I am doing in final cut )....

that genetic stuff is simple, really. Gnome woman, gnome cry. :)

  • Brilliant. Did you like editing on a Mac? A friend once told me that most artists and film folk use FinalCutPro. I'm a simple WMM person on a PC- sometimes I'm tempted to switch to a Mac but have never done it.

  • @myrnaukelele Thanks Maureen! I LOVE my Mac. I'll never go back to a PC. - Mac's are really easy to use.

  • Now I want a Gnome = ) Well done, Leslie!

  • @Pippilly check out eBay - mine may be headed back that way! hehehe

  • Well done Les!! You never fail to amaze.

  • @hallbe Thanks Ben....I haven't uploaded *all* my films - for good reason! LOL

  • That was beautiful. I'm trying to come up with a short film myself but it's harder then it looks. Kudo's to you for this wonderful production.

  • @EdEditz Thanks Ed - you got that right - there's a lot that goes into making a film - and here I thought I could simply 'point and shoot'!!

  • Gnome is where the heart is ... if you were here, you'd be gnome already ... gnome is where, when you have to go there, they have to let you in ... gnome sweet gnome -- lol -- punned out ... excellent film, Lesley, wanting nothing.

  • @liz1060 Whew, I'm glad we got all the puns out of the way! LOL Thanks for the praise Liz, I'll share with Sam.

  • Intense! Very well done Lesley! Thumbs up!

  • @greggfla thanks Greg - I think the gnome is wintering in Florida somewhere....

  • wonderful work Lesley, really enjoyed that :)

  • @RobElliottMusic Thanks Rob - The Gnome thanks you too :)

  • Video making par excellence. Again. Must've been a tough shoot for Brian, having to rummage through rubbish and guzzle wine!

  • @BradThunder Drunk in charge of a shopping trolley on a public highway!

  • @BradThunder Not much of a stretch, eh? LOL

  • Great film Lesley!! It's got it all....humour and a serious message put across in a unique way

  • @bemuzic Thanks Belinda - you should have seen the original drafts of the script - talk about heavy!

  • Fav'd - really wonderful story and well told by you and Samantha. xo

  • @anniehiggy Thank you xx (it was hell paring down to 6 minutes - imagine 2!!)

  • Great film Lesley, thoroughly enjoyed watching. 5 thumbs up from me

  • @benzone50 Thanks for your support Ben. Every exercise is a learning experience - I learned a LOT from doing just this one short film!

  • Quality

  • @Evilspartacus thank you, good to see you :)

  • With all that traveling I guess he's a gnomad. Lovely film and thanks for giving me a part where I didn't have to dress up or get in character! x

  • @MrRandomWritings Going to have to think of a part for your new coat! x

  • @LeSaMilano How about Buttons - something off the cuff?

  • Bravo! I really enjoyed this wee film Lesley ! hugs, Chris

  • @bugsinrug Thanks Chris, I'm glad......but the gnome is still waiting for Melvin :(

  • Cool Lesley!

  • @VictorTheGr8 Thanks Vic....but you already knew I was cool ;)

  • @LeSaMilano uhhhhh no Lesley....I said "you drool" .....Drool Lesley...not cool.

  • @VictorTheGr8 damn, it's these new choppers - don't fit too good LOL

  • Ha! It WAS Link! I had started doubting my Link-Sense by the end of it, but I should have had a little faith... ;)

    Great film, L. (and Samantha).

  • @AncientAtheist he's been outed. LOL Thank you xx

  • That was a really fantastic video, but they always are! He is all by himself now, I feel bad for him. I think I understand the message of the video.

    Lauren

  • @justwant2bhappy Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed. The message is possibly open to interpretation :)

  • very nice

  • @kidblood1 thanks, it was an interesting project!

  • I recognize that Gnome's voice...:-)

A wonderful film yet again from the "Mistress of all Things"!

I was wishing that I could be the next one to drop by and pick up that little gnome! I was feeling worried about him out there all alone without a friend! LOL

    Bravo to all involved! *applause*

    xoxoxo

  • @GreatGig1 He was a great gnome, wasn't he? This film was sitting on the shelf for a year so I thought it was time to dust it off (plus got nothin' else! LOL)

    thanks C xx

  • Wow! Very powerful, beautifully filmed and gorgeously narrated (by Theramintrees?)

  • @Perroquet51 Yes, without TT's voice and talent the film would have been lost! Thanks Mark xx

  • Gnome body knows the trouble i've seen.Really great video as always.

  • @bearchay889 LOL!

  • @bearchay889 I always like to start the day with a good pun! :D
