@crankartist yep totally, if your just using naked bamboo it would be better to use a grippy type ball like a basketball or a playground ball but i would reccomend wrapping a rough type of fabric on the sticks and gleing it at each end, this is what i do with all my sticks and with the ones i sell these days, it stops the side to side slippage and adds a bit more power too. The ultimate balls are the 9.5inch "jumbo tennis balls"
Rule #3 is awesome. When I was introduced to hacky sack circa 25 years ago this was one of the rules. To this day it is a pet peeve when someone apologizes and they haven't done anything 'wrong'. If you forget to pick me up from the airport say you're sorry, not if you're learning/ trying something new. -just keep trying!
Can this still be played effectively with polished bamboo poles? It seems to be the only sticks we have around here...
