Hi im an indian who cant speak hindi iv only spojen english all my life ... iv always loved japan its a really beaytifull country and i wish to go there and become a citizen .. im still in college after 3 years i hope to go to japan ... but all the indians i know who are in japan are either very rich or very very poor the majority of them dont get good jobs and come back or go to america i wanted to know whether there is any scope for a computer engineer ? and how are indians treated there???
Those plates are telling the story of a monk named Manmai, who went to Jigoku without actually dying and there he found a monk being tortured, and it turned out that he was suffering on behalf of other sinners there. Impressed, Manmai came back to this world and made a Buddha with flame around, the one you can see in some parts of this video. Btw, nice work as always :)
@Geil1485 interesting. not often that i learn something from my own jfaq. may i ask what the name of the story is? i would be interested in learning more.
@unrested The title is 矢田地蔵大士縁起 (Yata jizou daishi engi) This story is consisted of two picture scrolls and it seems they are showcased in Kyoto national museum.
@Japanekie yeah its a strange little nook in that arcade right? i was really fascinated by its presence as i have not found as such in osaka city where i live
@Japanekie my bus goes past that arcade like every day and i have never even walked inside for a mooch tho i do often see shrines like that along the high street too that i have also never looked in more than a glance as i wander past. shows u that u should have a look when u have time and u might find something cool. Thx as always unrested
@TubaBuddha no it has nothing to do with avoiding hell. these votives act as a sort of prayer to the gods that mix with shinto/buddhist beliefs. writing your wishes on the back you then hang it with others and they are later collected by monks or priests of the temple or shrine. dont worry i will do more on these later in future jfaqs.
Sory for the typo its SPOKEN ..... i had written spojen ....

I've seen this place but I didn't go inside. It was so weird to see it in an arcade. I wish I went in now.
