naitinui i never thought was very special, but the eagles probably new that but for someone who is 200cm+, can jump higher than the average ruckman and run like the wind, it was worth picking him up and then teaching him the game, he has a really good season this year and other players like scott pendlebury and todd goldstein say in a few years he will be the best player in the AFL, he has got real potential still and is playing well
He can play anywhere on the ground. Amazing athlete with great size. I'm happy we (Melbourne) went with Watts, but I would've been equally as happy with Naitanui.
some of u guys need to take into account that he is only 18, he has an amazing leap, but also has time to work on his skills, which i think he will be able to do at west coast
This guy will be really good if he stays off the piss and focuses. Will be like shaq once he puts on some size... should all go to plan... the team who gets him should do well
I would rather rich, less risk. Watts is going to melb at no1 and the next two teams (WCE and freo) have the best two ruckmen in the comp. But surely after all the hype he couldn't drop to forth
Agree partly. If he goes first round it is on potential. Watching the video there are some obvious reasons why it is a risk though.
Firstly, he won most of the hit outs but almost zero went directly to his teammates and resulted in a clearance. To be useful at AFL level this has to improve.
Secondly, he ran well and got the ball, but the majority of the time it ended in a turnover or disputed ball. He needs to be cleaner with disposal under pressure.
and is said too be more than likely staying in w.a with west coast havin #2 draft and fremantle #3 draft and the 2 teams would be mad not to keep him in w.a

if u dont know but number 10 with the big hair is the nab rise star danel rich from the lions in 2009
craigis123 2 years ago
watts is too overated i should say
the best picks from last year have been daniel rich or greg broughton
naitanui is just a tank
wikitum 2 years ago 3
That is short-sighted.
Watts is physically immature. At his level, he was very good. He may yet not succeed, but don't shoot people down before they've even taken off...
uraniumdeath 2 years ago
no, the initial best picks are rich and broughton, but naitanui and possibly watts as well looks like being a star in the long term.
cschultink 2 years ago
yeah watts and naitanui will take their time

Natanui is the best and when he play more in the AFL he'll just get better and better
TheMissionX 2 years ago
Same with Watts? From what i have seen so far, Nic nat isnt that great. Just a ruc who can jump high.
Buddha117 2 years ago
@Buddha117 i think if you've seen him lately you wouldn't be saying that he's "just a ruck who can jump high"
mercycollege123 6 days ago
hey dont say shit about mathew kruezer cause he is a super star and has proved that in just his first year at carltin F.C
fmxserb03 2 years ago
Nicknat is not a risk, he was allot better than last years #1 pick MK, his a proven wafl performer.
His got a good development scope and has improved allot in the last year, his attitude is amazing.

Both these things can be learned tho
