Alan Sues' bits aren't dated because they aren't political. So much of Laugh-In and Smothers Brothers were all tied up with Vietnam, Johnson, Nixon, etc. which is all worn out these days. Being goofy and doing a parody of a kids show is timeless!

As I watch reruns of this show it occurs to me how many of the other comedians and their sketches seem dated, but everything that Alan Sues did is just as fresh and gut-busting hilarious as when I first watched it over 40 years ago. RIP Alan, you were awesome!

I got meet Alan Sues (sp) (the guy in this clip that played Uncle Al back in the early 80's.  A Very nice person. I also like him when he played the part where he rings a bell and does the sports.
