this is the most blatant and the least allegorical out of c. de burghs numerous drug anthems. at the time when this song was penned, de burgh was in a emotional tailspin, and, according to his fanzine Shades of Red: the Man Behind the Mullet, he has described this period as a glimpse into the personal hell that was his psyche. though he found music very cathartic, the fact that he still is mulleted here shows hes still dabbling with dolls. the noncommital cut is a telltale that he is still using
