Actually that isn't true......the neat thing about accepting Christ is that it "opens" the mind as opposing to closing it. The easiest way to refute those who are closed minded is to point out that the folly in their closed minded ideologies. There are many non-Christian scientist…stressing the scientist part and Christian scientists alike who dispute evolution. It shows their closed mindedness by their insistence than no “intelligent” person refutes, evolution….

Great, funny, entertaining and so overlooked movie. David Duchovny, Julianne Moore, Seann William Scott and Orlando Jones were brilliant. They should've made a sequel. Evolution is one of the most underrated Sci-Fi films of the 2000's (along with Supernova, Mission to Mars, The Cell, Ultraviolet, Equilibrium, Cube 2, Alien Lockdown, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Serenity, Signs, Hulk, Terminal Invasion, Avatar (2004), Ghosts of Mars, A Sound of Thunder and The Chronicles of Riddick)

I think that life on earth started in the atmosphere. It's exactly what Stanley Miller showed.

@anticorncob6 The Miller experiment failed tremendously. The atmosphere he used isn't even the atmosphere that they believe the early earth had--evidence shows it had oxygen. And if it DIDN'T have oxygen, then ultraviolet rays would destroy the bonds as well. Whether by oxidation or by radiation, the amino acids would be destroyed. It's a lose-lose scenario.

Stanley Miller actually used ultraviolet rays and the acids got no harm. He also didn't use oxygen. The early life probably didn't get killed by ultraviolet light or oxidation.

That's why it's lose-lose.

Since most atheists have only heard of the Miller experiment, it's addressed in order to have a greater effect on the listener. Would you care if anyone criticized something you'd never heard about? I don't think so.

Origins of life is separate from evolution. However, Miller experiment is in no way "refuted", although it has been re-run with updated conditions later based on new knowledge about ancient atmosphere etc. The aim of that experiment was never to "create life" but to show that polymers can form in conditions that existed billions of years ago, and the experiment showed exactly that. So what exactly is refuted?
