  • Not many people actually know this, but Siouxsie went thru a whole bunch of Hitchcock movies before she finally landed on Spellbound for a lyric. Let's see now, there was "Psy-cho, psy-cho, a huh huh boom boom boom psy-cho" and then, well, you get the idea.

  • What type of shirt is she wearing?.

  • Siouxsie's voice is so haunting and sexy

  • John McGeoch & Stuart Adamson have got to be two of the most overlooked guitarists in rock history.

  • Me love... yes... JUJU... yes... I love.

  • John McGeoch's guitar composition with this song pretty much blows everybody else away. It's so abstract but completely tasteful and what a hook. Always enjoyed listening to this while speeding down the freeway. R.I.P. guitar man. Rest of the band truly extraordinary as well.

  • Which albums did McGeoch play on ?

  • @sunnibird

Kaleidoscope, A Kiss in the Dreamhouse, Ju Ju.

  • @skywalker74 Thanks :)

  • I can't get over him being gone-what a GREAT guitar player

  • Budgie is a hell of a drummer!!!

  • Saw The Banshees twice on this tour - One word - AWESOME!!

  • flawless... f*ck posers/hipsters siouxsie wannabes. zola jesus is just a ripoff minus the confidence, charm, the BAND!!!.....

  • They should play this at every spelling bee competition.

  • i love her voice. :)

  • NADA COMO SIOUXSIE!!! GENIAL!!!

  • She looks kinda like Helana Bonham Carter :) just love her! ;)

  • like if you got here cause you got entranced by the spellbound

  • Moira Scar

  • Awesome! Happy bday. Steve Severin!

  • My nickname when I was little was "juju" :3

  • juju — one of the most interesting albums every released....

  • Think Jonny Marr had been influinced a bit by the guitarist ! Defo` similaritys in certain passages ! Anyway this band were great ! At the youth club and school a lot of the birds dressed and made up like her ! Another great BRITISH band ! Peace Ye`All !!

  • @auto4union John McGeoch made #10 on Johnny Marr's Top 10 Guitarists list and praised him for his work on Spellbound ;p

  • @narkon2055 Thanks for that mate ! I play myself ! probably spend too much time comparing/analyzing music as just enjoying the "Tune" ! I know other muso`s do this also..! Bit of a curse ! Anyway! I notice John McGeoch isn`t in any videos like "Happy House" or Christine"! How long was he with them before the drugs took over....?Great player!Love his style ! Peace Ye`all !!

  • Like this song if it makes you want to eat people

  • God Siouxie - You are and were fit as hell

  • Watched this line up at the Apollo in Glasgow. Also seen them with Smith on guitar. 2 of my most memorable concerts.

  • True blood

  • The greatest line-up the Banshees ever had by far. Too bad it only lasted one (and a half) albums. McGeoch is just brilliant here.

  • @cmdraven 3 albums dude

  • @LightFromADeadStar He played on part of 'Kaleidoscope', all of 'Juju' and 'A Kiss in the Dreamhouse', yes. But I really don't care for 'Kiss' much at all, so that's why I said that I thought one and a half albums with him were brilliant.

  • I realized how old I was when this played at the end of TB on Sunday night... Rock on Siouxie...

  • this really isn't very good is it.

  • @latoalex Talking Shite pal...!

  • Like if True Blood sent you here!

  • @allygray69 calling all vampires into the sun! :P

  • heard this on the ending credits to true blood on sunday , had to see it.

  • wow... just great... she sounds awesome... love it

  • The drummer is on fire.

  • I was lucky to see one single time this band in concert and it was at the zenith of Paris(france) in 1988 , it was wonderful and unforgettable !

  • Steve Severin's not bad, to be fair!

  • SHE and John are beyond words and the rest of the band is incredible! Thank you for posting this excellent video!

  • if any of you can make even the most vauge connection between lady gaga and siouxsie..you sir ma am ..ARE LOST go watch a justin beiber video leave actual music alone...you might hurt yourself

  • WHY THE FUCK DO PEOPLE KEEP MENTIONING LADY GAGA???

Look, I like gaga. She's kinda alright, but her name has no place anywhere near a clip like this.

  • @SpankRamen2 because they dont know %$#&

  • @SpankRamen2

gaga, like madonna before her is all about the acceptance of individuality. siouxsie didn't take it so far as to make an artistic statement about it, she just didn't give a fuck what people thought. A true artist.

  • yup, YAM SG

  • i seen this band at least 10 times ..the best band ever

  • MAJOR! VOCAL!! POWER!!! Christ, someone should enshrine her lungs and vocal cords after she dies!!!

  • the lovely and beautiful john mcgeogh!

  • Magnificent.

  • Great directing.

  • great video

  • WOOOW SIOUXISIE LOVE YOU!!!

  • True songwriting from the heart!

  • Something like a browser plug-in that identifies makes and models of guitars in YouTube videos--the Google corporation would buy it from you for the h*ll of it.

  • @rsp196607 It's a Yamaha SG2000

  • I still love this song.

  • Total class.

  • R.I.P. McGeoch. Who can make a guitar sound like that? I feel like any true Siouxsie fan would say at the least he gave them such a sound. A masterwork by a master craftsman on the guitar. Of course Siouxsie is second to none.....

  • John McGeoch was my favourite guitarist of all time. He was into sound in an almost abstract way. I loved the fact that I could say, "I want this to sound like a horse falling off a cliff", and he would know exactly what I meant. He was easily, without a shadow of a doubt, the most creative guitarist the Banshees ever had." In the words of none other than Siouxsie Sioux. Now thats a statement....

  • @synch08 Indeed, Sioux did say that. McGeoch was a legend !! R.I.P. John ..

  • Friday the 13th!

  • please watch "ANDI SEX GANG KAMIKAZE BEAUTY"

  • I bet Keys would love to smash that!

  • Nice a Yamaha SG, the most underrated guitar ever.

  • Siouxsie Sioux is my idol...

  • 7un '81

  • John was not only one of the greatest guitar players of his time, he was also one of the nicest guys and best friend. R.I.P, My friend.

  • @davedorger And you seem to be buzzing...

  • @davedorger

You spelt it all correctly but the use of a double hyphen is wrong in so many ways. Sorry to disappoint you. Oh yes, and I have all my teeth, thank you. Lastly, you know "Souixie Souix" is English, right?

  • @davedorger

No offence, but shouldn't you be able to to spell the name of your all time favourite?

  • I am entranced !

  • this harks back to a time of real people and real musicians. not like todays macdonalds method of manufacture.

  • This woman is my hero and I wish I could play that bassline....if only people were capable of making music this good still....

  • Siouxiee, can you sing a chanson for me to sleep?

  • One of the few punk bands I like, probably because I don't think they sound punk at all. This song has been stuck in my head all afternoon now.

  • Comment removed

  • song for Corey Duffel's part in " Right Foot Forward"

  • the original gwen stefani

  • ..."23 folks can't spell"...?..."23 people need to be bound"...? how does this shit work?...

whatever: Fucken great song. thanks for uploading!

  • my favorite North Plains Indian...LOL!

  • wow siouxsie seimpre grande unica una verdadera diva y pionera de todo un movimiento i love you forever

  • Aces! Other than PJ Harvey, Peaches, and Alison Mosshart, bad-ass rock chicks are thin on the ground these days.

  • women could make music then.

  • Quelle voix !!

Magnifique, j'ai toujours admiré votre talent.

    Stéph

  • brilliant stuff my ex got me in to !carl memories will never go away !

  • @misternylon ... totally agree. ))

  • Is McGeogh the guitarist here?

  • @mcol3

    John McGeoch, yes.

  • i love this song! and live is even better

  • CHRISTIIIINE!!! !

  • Lady Gaga or whatever she calls herself does not even have the right to be mentioned in the same breath as Siouxsie.

  • Lady Gaga has nothing to say, actually - she just puts on a slightly extreme, intentionally-shocking show - she does performance art for art's sake, because she likes to show off - rather like Madonna in that regard - nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't carry an value beyond entertainment -- if you can't read a song's lyrics and be enlightened to some degree, then it's low-value - I much prefer an artist who has something of interest & value to say to the audience - Susie does this -

  • Saw her at the second Womad festival just outside Clevedon , bristol, she was a pain in the arse , arrogant, wannabee diva, kept stopping and sending bouncers/stage crew out to take cameras from the audience everytime a flash went off, as the headline act for the final night it could not have been a worse choice, thank goodness Gil Scott Heron and Toots and the Mayalls providing good memories from the friday and saturday

  • I miss the days of post punk and gothic rock...even though I was born in the mid 90s.

  • what a women

  • 777 thumbs up

  • she was amazing to see live. Thank you for being you Siouxsie!

  • @quartzheart It was a time when singers/groups had originality.

  • @Urko2005 ya I know i was there.......

  • Nice Goth!

  • why would anyone mention lady gaga here? Siouxie actually had talent.

  • This woman is...so fuckin amazing !!

  • Siouxsie is the greatest. nobody these days even comes close!

  • i don't know why people keep bringing up lady gaga. she's not even interesting enough to be bad.

  • My 3 fave female singers are Hope Sandoval(of Mazzy Star),Chrissie Hynde,& Siouxsie.Sioux's compelling to listen to here, but I compare her to Hope singing live.Siouxsie's great in studio,on key&stunning, but really, she found it hard to sing nearly as well live.On so many notes she's WAY off key.But listen to live recordings of Hope! She has the most beguiling.emotive, sensual voice&sings equally well live,on key&with so much subtle nuance&control. She's a wonder!

Chrissie's on key live too.Sioux? No

  • @Bobjb999

I like Ann Peebles, Etta James, and Elis Regina.

I really like the three you listed though. : )

  • Dear Sioux, can't you send up those clothes for me if you happen to have them still? You look too fucking badass.

  • Bellissimo concerto, nel pieno del periodo migliore di Siouxsie e compagnia, sono mesi che vedo questi video e non mi stufo minimamente, lunga vita a Siouxsie e i Banshees!

  • No female 'pop star' will ever come close to her. Lady WhoHar?

  • she is the best !!!!! love her music so much ,damn good!

  • Absolutely brilliant live performance.

  • A perfect strong willed, intelligent, amazing, talented, beautiful woman.

Fakes these days do not even come close to dreaming about being in her league.

  • Lady Gaga and that red haired whats her face dont and will not even come close to this...Siouxsie Sioux is on a whole other level from them. I dont get why people dont understand that. :P

  • @akira543 Man, i don't understand why people like lady gaga, justin bieber... there are good bands like Siouxsie and the Banshees nowadays but they are in the underground becouse tv and radio don´t want to sell they songs, they want sell they figure.

Lady gaga is only a figure, and a good manager of course

  • @akira543 well said

  • @akira543 - You mean, that she can actually sing, and pretty good? Back then, there was no auto-tune. Singers and musicians had to perform on pure talent.

  • @akira543 we do

  • @akira543 Because people have *GASP* opinions that differ from yours? Shocking, I know.

  • @IAmPlaysWithSquirrel Ummm no because it's blatantly obvious that she is superior to them in every way. :)

By the way this was a reply to someone who I forgot to mention it to. People just happen to agree, i'm over it now.

  • @akira543 because Lady gaga has evil marketing behind her, the likes we've never seen. keeps getting more advanced and evil. Gaga is a total satanic puppet.....great videos here break that down.

  • @infowazz

    Wow...yeah..I agree with that!

'Total satanic puppet'...yup...add NWO to that list too

Back to Siouxsie Sioux..well...miles better than Gaga...simple as.

  • @amaranth7777 she started off as Stephanie something and they created a monster......also if you notice the art world is also full of evil crap too. bloody babies, headless dolls, diamond encrusted skulls, gold skeletons.

the elites worship death and evil just as all ancient cultures did. the only way to get to the top is by becoming one of them----evil and grotesque. psychos and narcissists are drawn to that sort of power.

  • @infowazz

    Yeah...I agree with you.

The people behind the scenes are monsters and are extremely evil people.

It's such a tragedy that a high percentage of people cannot see that though and that's why humanity is pretty much screwed :-(

  • @infowazz

no she fucking didnt you prick

    wiki her

then take the drivel that you posted on her down

  • @kingofthedammed stephanie

  • @infowazz

What the fuck are you talking about? You sound like Glen Beck! Crazy conspiracy bullshit.

It is just a song. Calm down.

  • @BlogBitch nothing is as important than the conspiracy FACTS that plague your world today. Glenn Beck is just jumping on the bandwagon, he's a nobody but at least waking some people up.

we should be talking about this stuff everywhere instead of ignoring it. that is what allowed these sadists to do what they're doing to you even today. CHEMTRAILS exist dude

  • awesome great cool amazing yaaay!! i luv her fashion sense she looks so cool

  • She's so confrontationally beautiful - I wish I was her!

  • imagine seeing Gene Hunt walk through the crowds looking for someone

  • SPELLBOUND WHOO ...HOOOO

  • OOMG thus F**** song ROCKS!!!!

  • really good that

  • I remember seeing this on daytime TV. Was it 'Rock Goes to College'? They used to have all these 'YOUTH' programmes on BBC2 mid afternoon. It was like the housewives had BBC1 daytime TV with chat shows and cookery programmes, and on BBC2 they had all these youth culture programmes. That was because so many young people had been put on the dole by Margret Thatcher.

  • John McGeoch was there best guitarest they very had, read a statement that sioxsie said that. I'd agree with her. None of there other guitarst could matchup to John...

  • where did you find these videos at? wished they had it on CD.

  • Noel Feilding totally nicked her look.

LUUURVE Souxsie and the Banshees :3

  • AMAZING...ONE OF ME ALLTIME SUPER GURLS IN PUNKER VISION..SO DOPE..ME FAV SONG TOO...BAND SOUNDS GREAT.....

  • In some more ideal alternate reality Earth, Souixsie is more appreciated, way more admired and very famous, and people say "Lady Gaga who?" *sigh*

  • John ? who was John? bassist ? guitarist ?

  • my dark vids can be a bit scary...LOOK pleaser

  • what ever happened to Siouxsie??? what an amazing voice! she should still be beltin' 'em out!!! ♥ it!

  • @beachmousegirl she made a solo album called Mantaray in 2007 and early this year she went on a runway for Pam Hogg's designs .....

    hope that helped u!!

  • @Magalyrdz72 thanks! ☺

  • @beachmousegirl she's hiding because her son has embarrased her to the world. can you blame her?

  • @florencelovme oh, i had no idea. that's horrible! who is her son and what did he do???

  • McGeoch period possibly their best.

I didnt have a ticket when they hit my hometown, but we wandered up to hang around outside, got talking to some bloke who I assumed was a roadie or something. He asked if were coming to the gig and we were embarassed to admit we didnt have the money to buy tickets. He didnt have to offer and we didnt ask, but he put both of us on the guestlist. Only when onstage did we realise the bloke outside was McGeoch - friendly, approachable, memorable.

    Sadly missed.

  • super !!!!! et j'encule tous les ptits cons qui critiquent. jewish, scottish, french or vulcaniens close yours eyes and listen music
