Yeah, well. You do realize that the baby was covered in amneotic fluid that had probably dried and gotten a little gross. A vagina is not a carwash. That's a part of giving birth... I bet babies get a lot more "ew...ew...ew..." when they start pooping themselves.

I think what's on the baby's skin is actually a wax-like material that protects the baby from all of the liquids/fluids in the womb.

Yes. Laurie, the woman who plays Jackie, was really pregnant during the show. If you pay close attention to the few episodes before the one where Jackie announces she's pregnant (especially A Stash From The Past), you can totally tell that the actress who plays Jackie is pregnant. In fact, her water broke ON SET, and she finished filming before going and having her baby. The pictures in the end credits are of "Jackie's" real-life newborn son.

That's right. She was in labor during the episode, but gave birth off-camera... elsewhere. She didn't give birth on the set. Oh, no, the producers couldn't and wouldn't let her do that.

I'm pretty sure if she was really in labor she would not want to shoot a scene for the television show. She was pregnant, yes. But, in actual delivery mode? Not likely.

No, she was. Laurie Metcalf said that her water actually broke while she was filming the episode. The actual labor where she was in the hospital bed... probably not. But I can definitely say that Laurie Metcalf admitted that her water broke during the episode.
