  • OMG you were of sooo much help. THANKS!!!!

  • thx man..im passing my quiz tomorrow :D

  • Watchingyou was my Homework... no really, it was. Best HW EVER!! XD

  • how about 1 over x'squared - 1 Minus 1 - x over x'squared + 4x +3 ?

  • I love how he says I know it looks like you arent doing much here! I hate math

I like this video good stuff.

  • OMFG THANK YOU! No more 64%s on my tests anymore :)

  • Thank you! You are so much better than my fat ass math teacher that is ruining my GPA because it doesn't feel like teaching.

  • in the first problem at the end you can factor out an x in the numerator, should you do it or leave it like that?

  • Hey, how would you get 6/2x+3/2=4x ?

  • thank you very much!! this helps me alot!! :)

  • x'squared'+5x+6 = (x-2)(x+3) ???

    i dont get it..

    someone..explain to me please

  • @yachiruvicecaptain it does not equal, so you should not get it.

  • @patrickJMT lol smart ass..the person meant how did you get (x-2)(x+3) from x squared+5x+6....

  • @yachiruvicecaptain it equals (x+2)(x+3). use the FOIL method to check your answer.

  • @yachiruvicecaptain x^2+5x+6. Take the six and multiply to x^2 you get 6x^2 now find something that multiplies to get this number and adds to get 5. We have 2 and 3 :) 3+2=5 and 3*2 equals 6~ :D

  • @yachiruvicecaptain x^2+5x+6=(x+2)(x+3)

  • @jackwcps when you expand (x+2)(x+3) it gives x^2+5x+6

  • @yachiruvicecaptain it should be (x+2)(x+3)

  • 2:28, Why did you multiply the fraction by (x-6)?

  • Question: how would you factor a denominator like: 8x*to the 3rd power*y*to the 3rd power*

sorry idk how to do sanscript

  • i come from china. i steel bad at math.-_-

  • You are helping me for my exams SO MUCH. Thank you so, so much for your tutorials! They are helping me immensely!

  • @Videogamefangirl glad i could help : )

  • thx man

  • @Jeergirl Lol. I'm also left handed but I'm not good in Math =)))

  • Love you

  • I love your videos they are soo helpful :) but I have a question. What if both denominators were x-3 and 3-x and the denominator on the right side is x^2-9? :(

  • thank you very much you help me alot =)))

  • THANK YOU!

  • why pay for a tutor, we have youtube..

  • thank you so much! this video helped me greatly!

  • if you get an answer like (6x+8/2x+2y) can you simplify the 6 and 2 and just make it (3x+8/2y)???

  • @Itsmyfaceonthescreen do you mean (6x+8) / ( 2x + 2y) ? if so, the answer is no. you can factor a 2 out of the numerator and denominator and cancel those however.

  • imagine having to do 60 of these problems for your homeworks... Every chapter, I have to work on 60 freaking problems. I agree with the person who said we do not use this in real life.. I don't see how unless you're a math teacher.

  • @lilcrazyaznboy i agree, a lot of this is not used in real life for most people. i do not make the curriculum however, i just try to help you get through it.

  • Lord thank you for giving Patrickmjt to us!

i am very thankful that your a great teacher through internet

Tomorrow is my exam and i am reviewing right now in math

  • your tutorials are saving my life right now! my math tutor didn't show up and i have a big math exam tomorrow. thank you so much for the help! :D

  • @Gossipghurlx33 hope the exam goes well ; )

  • wait..help!! i was lost with the second problem: x/ (x+2) + 4x/ (x-6) why did you multiply (x+2) to the 4x/ (x-6) <<--- explain in depth if u dont mind. in the first problem u didnt solve it the same i just got lost for a moment

  • thank you so very much. wow.

  • Well, if the bottom is both 8v^2u^2 would it change to that squared or stay the same? If that makes sense

  • Who ever created this crap should be killed... Thanks for teaching this to us though.

  • @patrickJMT with all due respect but ur last simplifying problem (x-1)/(x*2+5x+6) - (5)/(x-3) was wrong

  • thank you soo much i got an exam tomorrow lol

  • what about when you get a trinomial rational?? youv only showed us a binomial...Am i using the right terms? lol

Im just having toruble doing the trinomial ones...

  • thanks you saved me from my exam

  • Thanks for the help, but I need an answer A.S.A.P. at 6:45, I see you distributed your signs there, How do you know if you have to distribute your signs?

  • omg, thank you so much. i have a test tomorrow on this and i was totally lost.

  • @Anumm123 good luck on your exam : )

  • Absolute genius! Thanks so much for this free help. The world needs more people like you!

  • THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

  • it was a little boring but super helpful tnx bro

  • id love to see the house he made

  • WAIIT IN @4:11 YOU CAN STILL EXTRACT X FROM THE NUMERATOR RIGHT? I'M KINDA CONFUSED WITH LOWEST TERMS AND EVERYTHING

  • QUESTION: What if the expression given after the MINUS sign is x+1 without the parenthesis do I still have to make it -x -1before I add the like terms?

  • Comment removed

  • these aren't radicals...but thnx for helping others. and srry for my crude language but how the fuck do you use this to build a house?

  • @Tu51ndBl4d3 You dont. Hes we using it as a metaphor.

  • Thanks for the help!! You clarified this to me as clear as daylight!

  • fuck math

  • still don't get it... -_-

  • thank u so mmuch

u can teach bette rhten my math teacher

  • YOUR A GENIUS!!!!!!!! i am definetly going to pass my final thanks to you!!!!

  • @summertime3978 hopefully there's no english final, I think you'd "definetly" fail that one

  • i dont get how x^2 -100 = (x+10)(x-10) is it correct?

also i need an example about different numerators but same denominators. the 1st fraction has a exponent + a number and the 2nd fraction is a number.

  • i dont get how x^2 -100 = (x+10)(x-10) is it correct?

  • @YTesko1r2d229 Yes, look of FOIL math in google, for help.

  • i feel sad for the other videos about math. your the top dog!

  • Im going to pass my test now :D

  • You are the fucking best man. THANK YOU SO MUSCH :D

  • uhhh I love you.

  • I UNDERSTAND IT NOW!!!! YAY!!! X3

    Thx m8, your a lifesaver

  • Your a lifesaver thank you.

  • thanks a bunch

  • ugh it makes sense! can you fit in my backpack and go to class with me? :D

  • thanks

  • Wow..thanks, this is helpful. :)

  • why didnt you keep on factoring the 5x squared + 2x???? because you can pull an x outta both of them.

  • thanks :)

  • thanks.... @princesskim96 he used a method called factor out

  • can u plz tell me were the (x+2)(x+3) came frome because im going crazy trying to understand it

  • thank you sir, you are my teacher for the rest of the year.

  • this took my class three days to learn. -facedesk-

  • dude you save my life thx

  • I love you man no homo, you saved my grade =]

  • I wonder how much you spend on Sharpies alone x]

  • i love you

  • Thank you so much for this video! I couldn't find any example problems for this in my Pre-calc book...lifesaver!!

  • up loader comments are pretty sassy

  • patrickJMT<3

  • f Thats Cool! Just keep going, this too will pass! :)

  • @Dalianforever You're bad. Depending what your definition of the "N word is. If you were referring to the Black race, you are DEAD WRONG.

Benjamin Banaker once looked at the inside of a watch, went home

built a clock out of wood that STILL TODAY hangs in the Smithsonian and

    keeps time!

He also laid out the entire Washington, DC on map, Thus creating the Benjamin

    Banaker Almanac.

  • @starwars45 I HATED Math too! Seriously, look into MATHNASIUM in your community! Mathnasium is SHIFTING the minds of youth so Math Makes Sense! DON'T GIVE UP, DON'T GIVE IN! YOU WILL MAKE IT!

  • what about the ones with 3 terms in the denominator. like : (x+2)(x+3)(x-1). and they continuously cancel out.

  • @Dalianforever maybe niggers cant. but negros can. im in AP Calc.

  • @starwars45 i think it's a heck a lot better than social studies or language arts. i really only like science.

  • are you left handed? btw your videos are awesome they make everything way way way way easier. hahaha

  • I really wish my math teacher watches this and go's " ohhhhh"

  • @XxIP0d70uchxX lmao! mine too !

  • i wish my math teacher taught like this -_____-

  • this vid helped me so much !!!!

i was saved from the 50 item assignment !!!

    thank u so much !

  • your vids saved my math grade!! thank you so much!

  • at the last part..... -4x-11 i think it should be -4x+11? because at -1 -10..... negative * negative = positive

  • @punkaddict02 The only time when a negative and a negative = a positive is when you're multiplying. you aren't multiplying -1 and -10. You are adding them. That's why it comes out to -11.

  • @punkaddict02 that is only when multiplying, he did the problem correctly.

  • why dont u become a utube partner?

  • This stuff is wicked boring, and half of it isn't even applicable to real life! Yet, we still have to do it, and I'd much rather watch your videos than spend $80 to have someone take an hour to tell me what you can in 10 minutes.

  • @ntr11023 well, this stuff is not exactly interesting (much like hammering a nail in a board is not interesting). however, when you can do this and some other 'boring' stuff, all of a sudden you can make something interesting (like a house). to say it is not applicable is, of course, extremely far from the truth. to say that most people have no idea HOW to apply it would be much more accurate.

  • @patrickJMT True, true. But when I was in 8th grade, my math teacher said that most of the stuff we would be doing is only important if you plan to be a math teacher, and despite extensive searches, I've yet to find relevant uses for most of the upper math concepts.

  • @patrickJMT Not applicable to me. Math is important but it is not important for everyone.

  • alright so in this problem i'ms tuck on. the denominators are 4xy and 4xy^2. are they already factored? im not sure what to do because i can't find a video with monomials as denominators

  • i can't understand what you did at 6:46... :(

  • @shebna12 since your subtracting. You have to change all the sighn after the subtrating sighn ( -)

  • Very useful. Thank you so much.

  • how do i know if the equation is not rational?

  • @RhiannaCzennelle what is a rational equation?

  • @patrickJMT Make a video on Complex Numbers please!! No one else makes sense Dx

  • @2Larissa2 i have LOTS of videos on complex numbers. : ) do a search on my videos on my channel page!!

  • @RhiannaCzennelle the factor needs to have an equivalent expresion if it doesent its rational

  • Great vid thanks, just needed to refresh my memory, currently studying my A level Maths here in the UK :). @yeedust I'm pretty sure, but someone correct me if I'm wrong but to solve that I'm pretty sure what you need to recognise is that in the numerator [9-(x^2)] can be viewed as the negative of [(x^2)-9] which you should recognise as a difference of two squares. So that will factorise to -[(x-3)(x+3)]. You'll notice the (x-3) on the bottom of the expression with cancel to unity leaving you wi

  • Oh my god... Youre a genius! Thank you so much!

  • @ 2:21. Why does he mulitply the top and bottom by (x-6)?! Im trying to do this for algebra 2, and my teacher refuses to teach us, because we have to learn it out of the book for ourselves? ughh.

  • @timwarner2012 i am just getting common denominators

  • @patrickJMT

I THINK MULTIPLYING THOSE DENOMINATORS WITH THE DENOMINATOR OF EACH OF THE FACTOR IS SENSELESS..

  • I love you're vids~! You teach math really well -- you actually TEACH unlike my math teacher. >.> Thanks <3

  • he! i was wondring how can solve this? 9-x^2 / x-3

    thanx

  • You help me more than my math teacher

  • ooh! sharpie! haha..

thanks for this dude.. you're awesome ^^

  • THANKS I got It 100%,.,.

  • Love ur writing.. It's so neat..it helps to understand faster! :)

  • i love u!!!!

  • thank you patrick i use these videos to teach my son, this is why he passed his retake test to, is there a way i can send you a 130$ gift ?

  • @Mcciiee monetary gifts are always accepted! : ) you can donate on my old website justmathtutoring... there is a link on my channel page. thanks a bunch!

  • Isn't there a math tutor website that you feature your videos on? I thought there was one I used to go on for Calc. I and II. Can you give me the name?

  • @crazyjloop89 you can not post url's as comments as youtube blocks them. there is a link to my website on my channel page.

  • @patrickJMT okay. . thanks

  • I seriously wish that you were my math teacher. You explained this so much better than my Algebra 2 teacher did. She just did an example of the first 2 & never showed us an example of the third. It confused me soo much. So glad I found your videos! You helped me so much! Now I won't fail my math test tomorrow! (:

  • @anythingwithwings good luck on the exam!!

  • thanx bro

  • Great Review Thanks for taking the time :)

  • I like your penmanship :)))

  • Thanks Sir Now i got it!!!

  • thanks a billion dude....you are the best. i wish u were my math teacher

  • oi gag0 panu naging 5

  • @kimmi023 cancel x tapos matitira ung 3 tsaka 2 kaya add mo pwede icancel ung x^2 kasi pagfinactor mo yon x times x

  • I wish you have live classes at Ustream :D

  • @creator549 i wish someone paid me to have live classes on ustream

  • Thank you i never understood this untill now your awsome! I copy down your problems step by step it helps so much

  • I actually get this now. Why couldn't my professor just explain it that easily?

  • Dude u r the best u dnt know how much u helped me thanks so much!!!

  • You are AMAZING!! For all of those math-dufuses like myself, this has been a lifeline.

  • @TheLovelyClouds that is what i am trying to do : ) glad i could help.

  • I was told to just think of one side of the equations are negative numbers. For example you could skip an entire step by just saying -5x + x = -4 -10 + -1 = -11

    Same answer, less work.

  • thanx dude really needed help i'm taking an online class so no teacher and my teacher in school never explained anything.

  • @mullins557 i feel you dude.... -_-

  • great video! now i wont fail my math final

  • be my math teacher

  • This video saved my life from failing a math class. XD

  • @xXSmileMyDearXx now you only get A++++++!

  • math finals tomorrow! this helps like amazingly!

  • This was really helpful! My math teacher just barely explains anything to us and kind of throws us in the dust so this was really a great help. Thank you so much! I will definitely be watching more! :)

  • Your video helped me a lot, but i believe that if i had not already had an idea how to do this, watching this wouldn't have helped as much. it would be much better if you'd show every step and explain why you had to do each step. But thanks again! Thumbs up!

  • @bigwes804 ha, ok,, thanks - i am not trying to be a sole source of information - i am trying to be a supplement

  • omg! you've helped me more then my teacher has this whole semester. I have last chapter test tomorrow and finals on Wednesday... I am also going to watch all your videos.. on rationals.

  • After watching this...I got an A on my math test. THANK YOU.
