The Cal Stanford play was not like rugby because in rugby you can fall to the ground with the ball or the ball can touch the ground, in NCAAFF if a player goes down with the ball or the ball is on the ground it cant still be in play

Of these I like the Cal vs. Stanford play. But my favorite all-time is the "flea kicker" play for the 1997 Nebraska vs. Missouri game. That saved Nebraska's title hopes.

My vote goes to the 1995 Virginia Cavaliers stopping #2 Florida State on the goal line. It broke the Seminoles' 29-game ACC win streak, the record they held since joining the conference. These days in Charlottesville you can still find paintings (no joke) memorializing that crazy goal line stand.

Other than that, GEAUX Tigers! Anytime there's an LSU game, something wild or stupid happens that will top any of these plays. That's about the only positive I can attribute to Les Miles.

It's not the crowd, it's the Stanford band. They thought the game was over and were celebrating. Cal vs. Stanford is one of the biggest rivalries in college football. Ironically, the band ended up acting as extra blockers, and helped Cal win the Big Game and the Axe. :)
