  • ugh, does anyone know what string rafa uses? i hate the sound it makes when he hits the ball, it sounds like hes hitting the frame every time

  • @scorchfrost i am pretty sure he uses the RPM blast

  • Srry srry srry...... Nadal does use semi western

  • Actually he uses full western - maximum topspin. I don't know how you can tell from slow motion videos, especially considering that the two grips are technically less than a centimeter apart. It appears full western anyways since the racket face is down before the pronation. He gets the racket speed from correct form and strength; something all 5+ level players should be able to do. On top of that I'm sure he uses lead tape and puts it on the top tip of the frame for extra power.

  • where the fuck do you get that racket head acceleration

  • @cj397 go look at fed's haha its way faster :O

  • Que nalgas tieneeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!1

  • 1:03 that's insane

  • i can do that

  • 4:10 and on is more insanity

  • The unbend iron will+ Steel like body = Rafael Nadal

  • omg he is SOOO sexy. especially with the haircut. i can't BELIEVE i missed him. i went to the qualifiers on the 29th with my sis and saw safina and hantuchova o_0

  • Nadal is so entertaining to watch play not like boring Murray. It's not like I hate Murray but I think that his game is not fun to watch even though he plays very well.

  • Nadal is the man!

  • Thank you for the video.

I love it. Love the comments. You guys are

    awesome. Respect for Roger Federer.

Tennis world got his God back on the court.

    N A D A L - welcome back.

    I wish you the best.

  • I'm starting to doubt he uses a full western anymore, it looks more like a semi-western to me. It doesn't look like his palm is facing upward when he's made contact with the ball, which is the western grip should look like. I'm not asking to be flamed, but just making an observation, and if someone could point out where it is a western IN THE VIDEO that would be great.

  • he is using semi western. How can you tell. Through logic

  • he uses a semi-western, you can tell in his slow-mo vids

  • um no he use full western. You can even tell from this video of how he drops his rarquet and how he hits it too and who dosent know that nadal uses western

  • i don't know man, i watch his slow-motion videos a lot and when i pause it at the right time and look at his index knuckle, it's clearly on the 4th bevel, not the 5th

  • the 4th bevel is full western

  • i'm sorry, but the 4th bevel is actually a semi-western. the 5th bevel is a full western.

    2nd bevel-continental

    3rd bevel- eastern

    in-between 3rd and 4th- extreme eastern (federer)

    4th- semi-western (rafa)

5th- western (basically reserved for clay-court specialists or weird people like novak djokovic)

ps. i dont mean to criticize nole, he's an awesome player

  • That's true. Like it's been said all over the place, Federer is the legend, but Nadal was better. He doesn't have what it takes to beat Federer's record I don't think, his chances of course have gone down quite a bit, maybe grand slams in the double digits, but 15 is gonna be hard to beat, not to mention possibly much more. I think Fed's still got 3-5 grand slams left in his career, if all goes well.

  • Roger Federer is the undisputed king of tennis but Nadal, if hadnt been through injuries would have created history by completely out classing Federer. With over 90 % clay court record and 13-7 advantage over Federer he proved him self better than Federer.

  • Thank you for sharing the video! I hope his back hand won't trouble him during the competition!

  • hah, nadal with a hat! that's new for me!

  • "Nadal doesn't only beat you. He takes off your will to play" (Guillermo Canas)

Nadal NEVER gives up.... and his strength and intensity is intimidating to his opponents who have to maintain a high quality game and intensity all through the match...... not easy to do "unless the champ is hurt"!

  • yoramgaon1 good job mate.

Does anyone think that Rafa has a higher chance of usual of not getting to the second week?

He has just recovered, and hasn't done spectacularly well in cincinnati or montreal, he's certainly not playing his best.

  • With Rafael there is always a chance --even if he is on a wheelchair!! You are talking about the best guy in tennis!! His perseverance is famous!

  • Very good! Thanks for posting

  • good quality, steady camera, thanks!

  • Thanks for the good feedback guys. I really had only my wife's canon sd1000 and I had to stablize my hand on the sit in front of me.

  • Amazing video! Good Job

  • wow...thank you !

  • Yoramgaon, thank you for the info -you heard Rafa complained about his backhand!

  • Yeah at one point he screamed in great frustration "que passa" at his coach and the crowed laughed and immitated him. He didn't like it.

  • Kholschrieber looked amazing though....particular that serve of his...I was there for the last 20 mins.

  • Very good quality and steady camara! Well done! Excellent close picture!
