  • When does this come out and how much is it?

  • @dartmoormyparadise

    Hello

The NAO will be available in July 2012 at the price of 125€ (depending of where you live). Best regards

  • Would this product still work as intended when the person is riding a Dirtbike? Or would the speed mess up the sensor?

  • @Perkuleezful

    Hello

It depends of where you're riding (forest of fields). Anyway you can adjust the reactivity of the sensor, and you can always switch back to a constant mode.

    Best regards

  • @petzlcrew awesome, thanks for the reply

  • Be interesting to see how it copes with proper pitch black in a cave/mine, also a price tag i would expect to be over £300, i think i'll keep my stenlight

  • Cool tech. Might wanna change the name though, I thought this was about the NAO robot lol

  • Proccesses incoming light... its a fucking ir reciever and transmiter detecting distance and controlling the light. not that complicated. whats complicated is making it rugged waterproof and pretty mutch idesructable

  • this will be perfect for my backstage work on tour...cant wait to get my hands on one..

  • @floatingdownstream till some bastard pinches it and youre out like 200 bucks...

  • Anyone else think that the guy talking sounds like Tony Hawk?

  • Nice idea, but nevertheless an epic fail: You cannot change the battery which makes the lamp useless. Suppose - as shown in the video - you are indeed spelunking (or mountain climbing), the battery goes flat and you are unable to change it? Could be rather dangerous, don't you think (or merely annoying when having to abort your walk due to light failure)

    Hello,

Yes, you can purchase additional NAO batteries as accessories and easily switch them out as needed. It is also possible to have several extra batteries to replace an empty one and NAO will accept two AAA batteries, to provide emergency light.

    Best regards

  • @buckaroo1970 Fair enough, but one of the core rules of caving is that you always go in with at least three sources of light. You COUNT on your batteries dying. Also, you shouldn't have just one flashlight.

  • @buckaroo1970 even more than that) not only can you change the battery but also is is just a regular 18650 liIon type that reatails for as low as $10 for a pair of 3000 mAh 3.7Volt battery)

  • @buckaroo1970 Especially when you use them underground, meaning they will be on full almost all the time. Battery be dead very quick.

Will stick with my Raptor and my MyoXP for now.

  • why isn't this done with a longer lasting conventional set of batteries?

  • i would still like to see some sort of manual adjustment. usually when hiking you need very little light, especially if you know the trail well.

  • @beholderlt

    Hello

You can also switch to manual adjustments if you want to, and you can adjust the brightness very low, with the OS by Petzl software.

    Best regards

  • @petzlcrew well this makes an interesting light then. maybe i'll look into buying it, of course this will depend on the price.
