  • either my tablet glitched, or someone put a 1/2 second subliminal clip in this video showing some evil figure while Buckley is talking. Can someone take a look?

  • @Dragoon91786 Yes. It's the evil presence from The Exorcist: Pazuzu.

  • @VonManavis- what point are you attempting to make? 'Projecting' how, precisely?

I stand by my statement: Oedipally- conflicted 'rebels' reject authority figures out of ego-pathological motivation.

No authority, no God, just 'boring old farts'.

    Pathetic epistemology...

  • The rantings of atheistic boys, especially against paternal authority figures, is nothing more than unresolved Oedipal issues.

    Rejection of the Father...

  • @TemplarLeonem

    Hmm...strange...

"Oh FATHER, though art in heaven..."

    Projecting...mmmuch?

  • Pseudo-intellectual? Hardly. Buckley's accent is a result of his having learned to speak several languages.

  • @liwatcher- a rather livid and vituperating ramble. What is it that threatens your precious percept so? Can you not civilly agree to disagree?

Your railing speaks volumes about yourself- far more than what ypu rail against.

Reflect. Socrates taught us this- the unexamined life is not worth living.

Be more than a spiting reactionary...

  • What a fucking MORON. A prime example of how he exposes himself as a PSEUDO-intellectual. A man who cannot think in terms beyond his ideology. If we simplify--to put it in mathematical terms--his argument or answers, as it were, we come up with: "I don't know, it's a mystery; just believe! Just because!" (Cont...)

  • Cont How people got so fooled by his accent & verbiage is not beyond me. Most people, being superficial sheep in the first place, will be fooled by such idiots, as they have no grasp of substance as opposed to presentation, knowledge rather than mere pointless references & half-truths, much less wisdom as opposed to dry and empty facts with no applicable power for good in the real world. (cont...)

  • Have at it: worship the moron, and validate your own useless, meager existence...

    You'll always have--

Your empty words to console you.

  • Once a buffoon, always a buffoon.

  • Well, i dont deny anyone the right to give credence to any sense they perceive. But it seems to me that folk just cant help themselves in espousing these intuitions as fact. It is this innate quality which allows the 'fact' that Allah is the Creator of our universe to be used to persecute infidels & similarly Judao-Christian(and others) to do like-wise. Certainly we should investigate apparent phenomena but as a species, too many are willing to action their intuition without due process.

  • I've always disagreed with most of what Buckley said but, I have always admired his intellect and ability to frame his argument in a civil and logical way.

  • @tommystyx You mean like his answer to the problem of evil.....'christian mystery'. lol, anyone that thinks thats a good answer is treating the listener as an imbicile. Niether was he always civil

  • You can not argue about what has no proof. Faith is private; individual. I was amazed to see this one documentary, for instance, on the New York Dolls. Their bassist had a spiritual wakening, in church. Something lighting up within. Have heard these tales before, but this one stayed with me. Not to mention the matter of fact way, the priest claimed to have witnessed this many times. The problem of faith, is basing laws on what you can not prove. The basics are one thing, the details another.

  • @FritzIdler1 white noise......and you are willingly rationalizing it as music.

  • @gallus1 Your comment's off point, though I'm one to talk. Something I left out. The "spiritual" experience described in the movie. Happened to me too. Years ago. In fact, it's happened twice. But I got there in two different ways. It showed me, there's more to consciousness than I knew. Could be an inner mechanism, I know. I assume you have not had such an experience. I know a bit about what the shouting of the mystics is about. Not the doubter I once was. Atheism is white noise.

  • @FritzIdler1 What atheism has that faith doesn't is reasoning. Its all we have + math. Because you experience something, it doesn't follow we make an accurate account of what occurred. Just as any number of our physical parts are vulnerable to breaking down, likewise our mental faculties misinterpret the world around us. Evolving within a narrow band of the macro world and blind to other spectra, any sense we glimpse outside the norm is explained as supernatural. We now know better

  • @gallus1 This is true gallus. That was my point, which I did not put across. It's off- putting, to write of such things. But if one explored a few meditative techniques, a person might get more than bargained for. I did. I don't think one bases science, or politics on them, because lack of proof. If science knew more, it might keep ill-rationalism in check, and help science. But for now I am agnostic. I can't just dismiss it all. I'm curious, have you read Rand?

  • @FritzIdler1 Compelled to credit our inner experience,we constrict our ability to judge and reason.A Bible, Koran, Bhagavad Gītā are often self-refuting but this fact is smothered by a willingness to remain ignorant in the face of all evidence we are ignorant, a consequence of the power of 'our' personal experience. We now know that in almost every facet of life, many of our intuitions are wrong. Agnosticism is reasonable but often mistakes doubt as cause to give 'true' or 'false' each 50-50 odds

  • @thesparitan: Hey there -- haven't the slightest notion as to why you would target me for your psychobabble; kindly, ramble on elsewhere ... For starters: 1) I have never communicated knowingly with you; 2) I haven't any interest in doing so other than this notification; and, 3) spew your spamming/trolling assertions elsewhere. Reading your dross rates akin to hacking up dogs, rats & maggots, then feeding the diced admixture to unwitting vegetarians: unpalatable; not even funny ... go away!

  • I found Jesus! He was behind the god damned couch the whole time!

  • Comment removed

  • @CabalBoone: LOL -- hilarious! If it's Jesus behind the couch; then, who the is that in fragments stuffed between its cushions where only the hand of gloved-well-paid-staff ought to reach: you tell me! Incidentally, Buckley looks like that ghoul depicted in those archived "Tales From the Crypt" VIDs: Degenerate ie, pickled liver going on in that harmful face; pie-puffed eyes, wreak with puss deposits; misaligned lizard-lips slither with venom; and, a nose in a state of advanced decay: creepy

  • So why did you flash the deamon face 1:13 into the interview? is this some sort of subliminal brain washing you are attempting? a joke perhaps? I'm not amused no mater what your moronic motive is.

  • @bikoeng Jesus Saves, lol

  • @bikoeng LOL what a douche you are.

  • @bikoeng: LOL: You're one attentive & astute viewer ... Incidentally, it appears that this WFB VID attracts a bright following; in a manner of speaking, many of us wield a quill & dagger, as if certain of us had attended Big Red aka Cornell University & had joined its social org by that name -- lol -- or at least were friends of Paddington Murphy? LOL.

  • @CarCriticAssessor thank you, it's nice to be appreciated. :)

  • @jklseattle

If you believe that faith is in any way compatible with honest intellectual endeavor you must subscribe to myth and superstition as well. If you are citing Augustine as an example of intellectual depth there is no hope for us.

  • @Rationalreason777: Lol -- you said it aptly. Um ... Maxwell's Demon Paradox 'ism .... blah, bla, bla .... down a winding road to ... err ... no where? LOL.

  • I strongly respect Mr. Buckley but I just can't understand how he could be a Christian...

  • William F. Buckley, was severely deluded, imbued with prig and sprig grandiloquence, which compounded the echo-chamber impact of his dithering verbosity; notable are his a) nearly arch eye movements, b) flamboyant torso posturing, c) haughty ruse of an accent, akin in its inane superciliousness to that voiced by miss-informed Grace Kelly; both clearly unwitting fashion victims of an era touting WASP arriviste glare, d) while Grace had beauty and charm, e) Alcohol-Bill proved bore & closet-case

  • @CarCriticAssessor Wow, your command of the English language is amazing. :)

  • @CarCriticAssessor See my point? Here is the same comment you posted before on the other video, ergo you seem to be spamming and logically we can assume that chances are good you are trolling. So as you can see I was justified to assume you were trolling. I never agreed with Buckley but I don't go around spamming videos of his moronic ass because that seems a little crazy to me.

  • Comment removed

  • @CarCriticAssessor Psychobabble? I was just being logical, in comment on this video I was addressing the spamming charge. But yes I am sure that you are mentally ill for sure now. You have poor thinking abilities and you also cannot read and understand what other people write. You need professional help.

  • @thesparitan: Hey there loopy-poopy-pants, learn what & how to punctuate eg, insertion of a comma where needed; otherwise, your drivel rambles on ... wakes the dead & drives future dictators, facists, UFOs, mad scientists, status-quo-goers, lesbo-nuns & homo-paedophile- priests ... um ... reaching, clawing & knawing plaster off-of-the-walls. If you're good .... simply fade away. Got it? LOL ------------------------- duck soup.

  • @CarCriticAssessor I have stopped reading what you write because its inflated with unnecessary verbiage. You are by far the most insane person I have ever seen on youtube and that is saying something. Why can't you just write normally, without all the pompous syntax. You take yourself very very seriously.

  • OK, am I losing it, or is there a clip of the possessed girl form the exorcist?

  • The Mortuary or Immortality

  • Buckley is stupid.

  • This guy sucked. He speaks a bunch of bullshit and says very little.

  • Before Reagan, before Goldwater, there was bill. A conservative and distinguish intellectural who won debates and thwarted history. Who gave us a way of seeing the world thru a dignified model by which anyone can ascertain and judge if its the truth.

  • @vkorchnoifan Actually, before Reagan, before Goldwater, there were all our Fouinding fathers, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkein, Thomas Aquinas, Augustine, most all of our Presidents up to Wilson, and about five after him, most all scientists before 1850, George Whitfield, John Locke, Monteisque, Sir Wiliam Blackstone, Adam Smith, well I could go on forever. Today we deal with those on the left that cling to ideas that have never, ever, ever worked in history and hear them say we aren't intellectuals

  • buckley is too intellectual to believe in any christian nonsense. he feigned adherence to avoid alienating the conservative right he was part of.

  • @jaykertiss You heard it here, folks. The sociopathic, atheist youtube troll with the inside track to WFB, Jr. If you are confounded by Christian intellectuals, I suggest it is less because of their faith than it is your own inferior, posturing intellect. After all, WFB was a wildly successful author/thinker/writer/commentator, and you are sitting around in your dingy urban apartment trolling Christian-ish videos on youtube.

  • Buckley was smart enough to know the truth that there is no god. He was a pandering apologist with a hyper-snotty delivery. Now he's dead with nowhere else to go.

  • Buckley, a Lowlife dishonest fool, otherwise known as the "Entity".

  • Comment removed

  • What the fuck happened at 1:12 ? "Contempt" *BAM! ghost will eat your babies*

  • What a blank fellow

  • The problem with religious believers lies in the FACT that they won't acknowledge the FACT that, if they were born in another time and place, the odds would be OVERWHELMING that they would hold different religious beliefs.

Buckley, like EVERYONE ELSE who holds a man-made religious belief, may believe in God, but his faith has been put in ignorant MEN who lived thousands of years ago.

  • @sgapplebee You might be right but it certainly isn't an argument against the FACT God exists. There isn't an argument against the existance of God, just logical rational reasons why there has to be a God or supreme being.

  • @BizaroMustard100 ,

    1) It's not a "FACT" God exists.

    2) Of course there are arguments against the CONCEPT of God. Is God alive? If so, Is he, she, it or them (which is it?) a member of a species? If not, then by definition he, she, it or them cannot be alive. Is there any such thing as a 'Monospecies'?

The very concept of "God" goes againt every single natural science.

What "logical rational reasons" God exists?

  • @sgapplebee God isn't physical. He made what we know as nature. William Lane Craig has some reasons more eloquent than I can put. Hope that helps clear up some stuff. Listen to some of his arguments then come back. I won't respond if you just try and hate.

  • @BizaroMustard100 ,

Already have. Name the video and I'll tell you exactly what is wrong with it. He says nothing that hasn't already been said and refuted.

  • @sgapplebee: Yeah .... and the "Biiiibel" itself, in several instances, asserts that there exists or existed numerous gods ... oh screw the monotheists' control of and dictates to grammarians; I'll say, I'll shout it out: GODS ... all or at least initial cap for all those unsung super-heros and super-villians of eg, Olympia and their free-ranging kin of the several Asian regions: lol.

  • @CarCriticAssessor,

Yes, of course. The Bible says there are MANY Gods, but you're supposed to follow the one IT says to follow. Which is a problem because the God of the "Old" Testament is much different than the God of the "New" Testament.

May I ask which post of mine were you referring to?

  • @CarCriticAssessor I'm curious, Why do you do this? It seems like a strange thing to spend so much on... You know all this writing and responding to William F Buckley videos. Other than being repugnant, you are interesting to me because we likely share the same political opinion but I have no relation to your state of mind. So why do you spam these videos? What is your problem with this guy that you must put a negative comment on every video comment page(not that he doesn't deserve that)

  • His wishy-washy reply to the problem of evil certainly suggests he's not very close to God at all. Perhaps he feels that his adherence and loyalty to his religious tradition combined with being an "ethical individual" somehow magically confers intimacy to God? Or perhaps the title is merely rhetorical as in meaning that nearness to God is some lofty aim one can admire but needn't really pursue diligently. Religion as window-dressing? anyway, I have no plans to read his 1997 autobiography.
