No it wont say that, the parry system was a great step forward, it gives to the fights incredibles possibilties and reversal of situation, this game is 10 times more skillfulness than SF4. And i dont even speak about the masterpiece accomplished with the 2D animation.
@TonyAerts I agree I did like the animation in 3rd strike. The parry system itself was a good idea but the focus attack system is better imo because it balanced itself out. you not only had to read your oppenets move but you could also capitalize off of it or use it to cancel out of a normal or a move into another move.
Now the SF's are made for everybody, when you see MVC3 and SFxT, you can't deny that the gameplay is to attract a maximum of people. It's the same thing for SF4, 3rd was too skillfulness for most of people and also they dont accept the new characters, maybe it was the main error from capcom to remove the old ones, but it was courageous

Honestly, I was more impressed with his spacing during the matchup. He was standing right outside of dhalsim's limbs range. The combo itself is fairly easy to do with a few minutes of practice. His understanding of spacing and his fundamentals are just incredible though.

What's not impressive isn't the combo in this vid but what Daigo did to make the combo hit his opponent. He purposely charged his Focus Attack to Lvl 2 on Dhalism's wakeup to make his opponent backdash which would create an opening for him to start his combo and end the match. What amazes me is that all of this was going through his head while mid match. High level play in fighting games always amazes me, it's like chess but without the turns.

You got it right...alot of people try that Focus Attack trap on wake up, but seeing the presence of mind/foresight required to plan and then nail the entire combo sequence after the FA, instead of a regular 'generic combo' is just amazing...

That combo is actually very worth it, getting your opponent to the corner is the only hard part. I think the impressive part of this video is how much damage he did in so little time. The fact that he linked a crouching fierce from the solar plexus strike and the jabs from the solar plexus to the sweep is secondary. The rest of the combo isn'tt that hard to do. I have done it before, it is worth it and will more than likely dizzy a 900 stun character, (around 850 stun + 80 from the throw)

Amazing combo but after you do the solar plexes punch he could uppercut cancel into Super and it would do the same damage lol! His combo did zero damage after awhile. Damage scaling takes over after awhile...

I don't see anything to be wowed about regarding this daigo. All he did was use a EX FOCUS which consumes 2 segments of your Super Combo Gauge. My point is, anyone who can do the motion to throw a "Hadoken" with Ryu, can do a EX FOCUS during a intense battle, canceling there focus attack, and repeat it oce more. Daigo will be no match for Dark Chun-Li--up and coming future EVO champion.
@ChunLisBUTTCHEEKS They wow-ed because Daigo Focused and dashed in at Lv2 to bait Mochi's Backdash which eventually killed Mochi and of course they were further impressed by the 15 hit + 5 hit combo which took the game.Just as easy it is to perform, its as easy to drop it in a framechart game.
Its hard to explain but I think you're missing the point. Both players are two games up and Daigo desimates Mochi to take the match point. Its just a build up of events and games don't tend to finish in such a fashion. Yes combos are farely easy in this game despite 1-frame links but its just the context that made it special.

Daigo moved to yun because ryu has trouble with dhalsim, and it was daigo's worst matchup. He said it himself in an interview.
However, I still think he should've used ryu in evo vs latif and poongko.
Yun does not suit daigo. A fundamentally sound character for a broken top tier? Daigo doesn't pick broken tier over fundamentally sound.

This clip is brilliant. The combo is great, and Daigo being able to tell it would stun was pretty sick, but I really liked how he baited the backdash and punished it so badly. DAAAYMN!.

Amazing combo but after you do the solar plexes punch he could uppercut cancel into Super and it would do the same damage lol! His combo did zero damage after awhile. Damage scaling takes over after awhile...

@MadLeprechaun Thanks for stating the obvious why do people always have to mention damage scaling when someone does a long combo.We can clearly see that ourselves but anyway thats what made it a great combo the fact that he did it even though he new it was going to be DS.People are often scare to do combos like this because they want to save there meter.

Ryu isn't made to make that much combo, unlike a Chun Li and her Hyakuretsukyaku, and Mochi is enough skilled to destroy you with... 10% of his-her capacities, so PLEAAAASE don't act like "the SSF4 expert" because what you said showed clearly you're not one. I don't see anything to be wowed about regarding this daigo. All he did was use a EX FOCUS which consumes 2 segments of your Super Combo Gauge. My point is, anyone who can do the motion to throw a "Hadoken" with Ryu, can do a EX FOCUS during a intense battle, canceling there focus attack, and repeat it oce more. Daigo will be no match for Dark Chun-Li--up and coming future EVO champion.

@ChunLisBUTTCHEEKS They wow-ed because Daigo Focused and dashed in at Lv2 to bait Mochi's Backdash which eventually killed Mochi and of course they were further impressed by the 15 hit + 5 hit combo which took the game.Just as easy it is to perform, its as easy to drop it in a framechart game.

Its hard to explain but I think you're missing the point. Both players are two games up and Daigo desimates Mochi to take the match point. Its just a build up of events and games don't tend to finish in such a fashion. Yes combos are farely easy in this game despite 1-frame links but its just the context that made it special.

@RRappadura are you serious? do you really wanna say the reason he doesn't land this combo in every single match is because it's difficult to do? man, you need a full super bar, a cornered opponent and an opening for solar plexus strike to land this. plus even if this things are given, it does not always make sense to do it since just combo into super may be a better choice in certain situations. the combo itself isn't that hard, theres only one 1-frame link, the rest of the combo is bnb...

@MrCookTM well, its a pretty nice combo anyway, I didnt get that he was using up his meter with this. but if it gets your oponent stunned its a very useful combo. so after the hadouken he goes to focus attack and dash forward, and that chains it all together. neat.
