  • wow...

  • She is just amazing

  • je ne me lasse pas d'écoûter cette interprétation. une petite fille, onze ans, très douée avec une âme de grande musicienne.

  • super talented o_O

  • A divine interpreter, I am charmed

  • technique is so even - it's incredible. great use of dynamics and color. phrasing is sensational.

the tempo hurts me a little...but it's perfect for the instrument she's playing on.

the overall character lacks a sense of adventure and surprise, but i can live with that. that being said, my heart broke a little when she didn't take the repeat. that i cannot live with. :((((

  • @coolsnak3 lol^^

  • i love all of your performances~~ you have an amazing talent!

  • I've been watching all of the Waldstein interpretations on youtube for a paper I'm writing, and Poon's rendition is among the best. This girl is amazing.

  • I wish I had the music vocabulary to tell you how well you played this piece! Smooth perfection!

  • sounds like the phrasing and articulation have been carefully instructed by her teacher! ;P

  • @chenjingzhu her hands are too small for some of the parts (hell i feel like mine are sometimes!) i severely disliked 2:20. but she is amazing for her age.

  • a true talent..amazing

  • virtuosic

  • Incredible! And from an 11 y/o? Great control of sonority. Proud of you!

  • OMG ! Is this real ? I had to pinch myself to make sure my ears are not betraying me. She seems to be as good as Kempff, or Schnabel... Please correct me if I'm mislead... This just fabulous.

  • @kerawelt listen to andras schiff's recording and you might change your mind

  • @amxmachine Never heard Schiff on this one. Heard him play Schubert's sonatas. Undoubtely a wondrous pianist. But know what ? Schiff by now is 58... and this lovely girl is only 11.... Did Schiff play the Waldstein like this when he was barely pubescent ?...

  • @kerawelt if he did its something I doubt either of us could prove. what makes Schiffs recording my favorite is how he strays from Beethovens writing on the page; something I doubt this girl could do. perhaps she wanted to and her teacher made her conform back to the score... who knows? that is why i find it strange to compare her to greats such as Kempff. she is good and virtuosic, but she has a long way to go! :)

  • @amxmachine I sure can't argue about that. True, she has a long way to go, we'll see how she handles Beethoven when she's 58... :)

  • @kerawelt id love to see her try something like this.. watch?v=2XMSxnAqLJc

i can span pretty much everything in waldstein... but OMG a four note chord spanning 10 keys!!! Alkan is the devil

  • @amxmachine Overrated devi, haha :P

  • wow, she is so good!

  • the 3 people who disliked this can only bang the keys incessantly until someone tells them to stfu

  • @IxWinxUxLose More like older pianists that are jealous that they didn't have the same opportunities as this one did.

  • So amazing

You do the music worth of listening !

  • very musical. bravo

  • Amazing! At 31 I can just about play the exposition, and this is played so well!!!!

  • wonderful!!!

  • This is wonderful sensitive .More than just note playing.MShe's got the personality already. This is music making. Her Chopin ballade is there.I was given#3 early cuz its not so deep However ,the G minor is !Most teachers give really difficult technical stuff Henselt , Moskowski ,Chopin etudes before they give "life experience " music. But this is powerful, grand playing.Dynamically modulated .B R A V A to you .Will look forward to your posts!!!

  • This is a very hard piece. I jeoleous that you could play it so beautifully with such a young age.

  • this is great!

  • Wow, this is spectacular! I performed this when I was fifteen, and from what I remember, it was nowhere near this musical and great. It's amazing that an eleven-year-old possesses this much talent. Just imagine how she'll sound when she gets older.

  • Great and unbelievable ...

.... thanks for posting this video ....

the best "Waldstein" I've ever heard!

  • I can't believe what I'm seeing here. You have to admit that Asians really put in all the hard work, plus I think they're also gifted, and most of the females play with grace and elegance no matter what the piece is. They must all be taught that because they all do it. Asians are great at whatever it is they do because they are so deciplined.

BRAVA, little Angel. You are truly a little piano genius. And I love how you're playing this most difficult piece so accurately.

  • @TheLovelyPiano: Yes, God told me that they are technically gifted. Artistically, the same is true. If they have that potential, work is still needed to manifest it, but it is released more readily because of the inherent aptitude deposited in them by the Creator. Part and parcel of the gift is also their anatomical difference, the natural aesthetic appreciation for classical music, their intellectual capacity and natural disciplie or temperament for it. All of this goes a long way.

  • @TheLovelyPiano I think you've made something of a generalisation about Asians. There are lot of them and they're mostly well-educated. You can't teach what Tiffany brings to the piano apart from the technique. She is mature, musically, well beyond her years which, taken with her obvious technical ability adds up to something approaching genius. She's not just a kid playing the notes; she's a musician in every sense of the word.

Keep it up, Tiffany, and don't burn out!

  • I've heard dozens of Waldsteins. This one's right up there. Only the highest precocity could bring out such sounds flawlessly. I'm sure we'll see and hear great things from this pianist in the near future...

  • bravoooo!

  • Thank you Tiffany. You are very gifted and play with such sensitivity. This was heart-felt playing.

  • She is really good. You have to be to even attempt the Waldstein.

  • well, the 1st movement is easy. watch her play the 3rd movement, thats the impressive one. of course tiffany poon is amazing! a few suggestions would be to slow down the lyrical section (~1:40) and give it more meaning. Im 16 and it took me a week to learn this song, i think the hardest part here is the left hand in 1:08, and tiff nailed it! 1:40 is hard too. Then the part at 2:33 i usually give more scherzo and mysterious feel. but thts just me. good job!

  • im 12 and i also play this song. I am not even clso to playing this good. i find it so hard to control 1:08. and the octives seem to be so easy for her. her dynamics are excellent. shes amazing!!

  • Fantastic! Incredible! Words fail me.

  • Bravo!! You are unbelievable.

  • thank you, excellent, fantastic

    un saludo

    Raul ...

  • What a convincing interpretation! When I started listening, my first thought was that it was slightly slower than I normally like this movement, but you make this tempo work very well. Congratulations on your remarkable achievements!

  • Very good!!!!!!!!!

  • very good! youre dynamics are very good and your technique and accuracy are well balanced

  • Dear Tiffany: First of all, bravo for your tempo which is so perfect. I love the way you calm your right hand when the second theme appears at the left hand. As a whole, I very much like the intimate mood you give to this movement. Unlike many pianists who seem to be playing the "Tempest" Sonata, you play the Waldstein....!!

  • @klingsor93 she played the tempest, too
