  • Great stuff by!

  • What are your rest periods like between sets?

  • @philopathy

I usually rest about 1 minute between sets.

  • so you just thought you'd stand in the rec room next to the trophies for the start of the video? LoL

  • Lee would it be possible to make a video for people with runners knee not matter how good my technique is my knees aren't to strong and pop with aching as I bend, it goes away after warming up could you show use some leg exercises to help build good legs without stressing the knees to much.

  • @leemhayward Lee I play football and was wondering if this video and your bench press workout routine video would be good for my football test. The football test usually consist of 5-8 reps or sometimes 1 rep max for squats, bench press, and power clean. How long should I do these routines? And can you put up a video of power clean workouts? Please reply and thanks!

  • @huntingman96

If you are looking for a good overall mass and power program that will help with sports training check out my 12 week program. Just google "Lee Hayward's 12 Week Program".

  • @lee : hey lee its cool man ....

  • I like to mix in the box squats every now and then also,I`m just not a big fan of the high box squats...Most of the powerlifters I know squating the huge weights don`t go nowhere deep enough.I don`t think that the wide stance high box squats build huge quads.Unless your on huge amounts of drugs.Much rather see a set of 20 with 405 OLY STYLE..

  • Lee how long have you've been powerlifiting? Just want to know how far behind I am lol....

  • @ripperduck

I don't really consider myself a powerlifter, after all I've only done 1 powerlifting meet. But I will include powerlifting style workouts in my routine from time to time. I'm more of a bodybuilder as I've competed in 12 bodybuilding shows since 1995.

  • @leemhayward Oh I see, thanks for the response....and the vids....

  • hey lee i used to do half squats but started doing full squats and it hurts in my growing when i squat even with body weight squats i was wondering if there was anything i can do to get rid of the pain when i squat exercises/scretches. Thanks

  • @weideriron

I'm assuming you mean it hurts your "groin" not your "growing".

If that's the case you pulled or strained a muscle and simply need to let is rest and recover.

  • Very informative. Thanks. Also very soft spoken for someone who is so damn ripped!

  • He doesn't look like a bodybuilder, bodyfat looks pretty high too me...

  • @JorvikMatt

well check out my latest videos where I'm dieted down a bit.

  • @JorvikMatt lol thats cause most of the year is bulking up eating alot and putiing on muscle mass. Then before a comp. they lean out cut downt the food and get ripped to show off what is under the fat.You see you cant gain muscle mass unless you consume massive amounts of food.Majority of bodybuilders of seeason look chubby or bulked.Sounds to me like you need to read more and lift more lol.

  • @JorvikMatt

He gets shredded before competition. I've seen pics of him.

  • isnt that way too much rocking on the boxx????

  • Lee how about a ME day for the Bench and Squat

  • how fucking stupid are you? did i not just say you train a lift? by training a lift you dont actually do that lift. what point of me saying you TRAIN your squat bench and deadlift didnt you understand? to TRAIN a lift means to do exactly what lee is doing. assistance exercises. holy fucking shit youre stupid. lookit my profile. youre a fucking bodybuilder. i do this shit for a living. holy fucking shit i cant believe how stupid this kid is.

  • and no you cant just do squats anytime you feel like it. your profile says youre into bodybuilding. that explains alot. go fuck yourself

  • when the fuck did i say there was no right or wrong way to squat? do you know nothing about powerlifting? you have a day that you train your squat. you have a day you train your bench. and you have a day you train your deadlift. you can throw in small workouts with accessory exercises once in a while. but generally youll have a DE and an ME day. you train the 3 lifts. im just im just wondering why he is primarily training deadlift muscles with exercises like shrugs and pullthrus' on a squat day

  • @foottothroat21 Its cause he is cycling a power lifting routine for a while and they do back and legs on the same day and all pushing on one day with a little arms in.Hes a body builder but hes mixing it up by doing some power lifting routines.

  • so you did pull throughs on a squat day? and rows and traps on a squat day? does it help training like that i always saved that stuff for the next day for my deadlift training.

  • You're working out in Converse all stars! That's SO old school man. Big props, Rocky style. :D

  • I didnt think you were supposed to actually take a seat when your box squatting. All that weight going through your spine is pretty hard on your body. Wouldnt it be better to just touch w/ your glutes and thus keeping constant tension on the legs

  • No, you momentarily relax your ass forcing you to then contract them as well as your hammies to get yourself back up off the box.

The bit about the weight on the spine is irrelevent.

  • Increase very much vertical leap

  • this guy posts on every site...

  • Lee How far should yuo go down when going for a max out squat i went down for 90 degrees for 325x5 reps and i 15 and weight 160 is that far enough and is that good enough

  • For a squat to be counted in competition your need to break parallel. This means that you squat down until the top of the legs, at the hip joint, is lower than the top of the knees.

  • Now How can you tell weather the squat is parallel like my stance is very wide so i cant really tell and could you give me a powerlifting routine for my squat and bench. that would be very hopeful because i am going for power and i havent really found my routine yet .

    Thanks Lee,

    Dave

  • excellent!

  • I tend to hear a lot of emphasis on overweight people becoming power lifters, converting their fat to muscle. I happen to be tall and skinny, is it still plausible that I could be a power lifter with my build?

  • if you eat food, you can be a powerlifter.

  • I second that. I have by nature a very wiry frame. I've managed to build alot of size from powerlifting style training.

  • there are plenty of weight classes in PLing and most plers are not overweight

  • very professional camera work and nice clear audio in the gym

  • explosive NO! Olympic Lifting! Jump! ATG is better!

  • SMITH MACHINES ARE AWFUL ! Lee I am surprised you use one. They should all be melted down and turned into free weights !

  • I agree. Smith machines are the devil

    However it's an excellent video.

  • how much rest do you get in between sets?

  • Less then a minute between sets for the box squats to keep the intensity high. For everything else I rest 1-2 minutes or so between sets.

  • thanks for posting

  • great

  • yues i love when u post your workouts
