I have to say, in the whole world of musical instruments, the steel drum has arguably got to be the most annoying rattletrap noise making contraption ever.
I've played this song before and they are doing the difficult version bc the one i did was the easier one.. i'm serious ... they are playing it in a different key than what i played... seriously.. its not like that can't play well.. i'd say it's pretty good for this level ..
Coming from the birth place of the steel pan, it's great to see other cultures and other people taking an interest in the steel pan.. you guys are amazing.. keep practicing and keep playing. don't ever let anyones negative comments take anything away from your talents... KEEP PLAYIN' & KEEP "JAMMIN"
thats pretty good... the only problem is the strums sound off. i feel like they are too ridged and you almost aren't feeling the music. Removing sheets would help.
Nice job for beginners. My advice is eliminate the sheetmusic, it just gets in the way. It's obvious these kids could easily memorize this tune, if they just gave it the effort. And, not a better drummer, but a more involved drummer! Other than that, have fun, ignore the assholes online, and enjoy what you're doing!
I liked it. You might want to watch how hard you hit your notes, but it still sounded pretty good. My first group didn't sound any better. Keep up the good work guys.
Well...criticizing is SO easy but these are peole learning. You should give them a break. Supporting people that are trying to learn is much better than criticizing.
rhythm.... I see none... It's not a straight beat, it's swing reggae, don't try and make it straight, it sounds like crap when you do. Also, you need a better drummer to get any better... Good try, though. It's beginner, but for you guys it sounds good.
