trinity or Monotheistic all have some pagan concept - so that is BS to me to think that the Holy Trinity is then pagan. The OT clearly teaches ONE GOD, one who created the earth and heaven alone - nobody with him. It saddens my spirit to see so many videos claiming there is a pre tribulation rapture. If there was a pre tribulation rapture, Rev. 16:15 would NOT be located where it is - between the description of the 6th & 7th vial of God's wrath.
When the Bible says.. "The dead shall raised first" before anyone is raptured, it's not lying. It's tell you the truth.

Abalone, you are doing a good work. but one minor error. "Jacobs trouble" is a Jewish tradition referring to the seven years Jacob worked for his wife but was cheated. this is the reason i hold to a 7 year tribulation( with great trib being the 2nd 3.5 years) not a 3.5 year tribulation. God Bless
@AbaloneKid , yes Jer. 30:7 is the scriptural (future prophetic ) reference to "Jacobs trouble". It takes a "picture" from their tradition to show them something prophetic in the future. My point was. "Jacobs trouble" was a 7 year period from the past and would be a 7 year period in the future. In the vidio it had it being the last? 3.5 years

Paul's sent the second letter to the Thessalonian church to correct a false doctrine that was being spread. That teaching was a pre-tribulation rapture. Some say it's a modern teaching. Others trace it back to 3rd or 4th century theology, but it started right off in Christianity & Paul dealt with it.
I think it's an err to pick which of the 7 Churches of Revelation we are today. Because really, it's all of them. Note how Jesus titles himself. "First & Last". So are the 7 Churches.
actually the false teaching was that they had missed the Rapture(or there was no rapture) and they were in the "day of wrath". paul taught rapture in 1 thes. rev 3:10 and luke 21 both show we can miss/escape the tribulation.
@passnthrou I've studied both letters. Paul makes it very clear that the man of sin is revealed before Jesus is in his coming (which everyone will hear & see) and our gathering to him.
The period of great tribulation is not God's Wrath. That comes after he does and we're caught up to meet him.

@passnthrou I won't claim to know the Bible perfectly. Understanding it better is a lifelong process. But I do go beyond just reading the English translation by studying the original Hebrew, Aramiac & Greek words. And it does well for anyone to do so.

notice "those looking" not every eye as in the glorious appearence. also how many times did Yeshua say "look or Watch". study close and you will see there are 2 events. In english it is easy to combine them even though scripture never does.
@passnthrou Hebrews 9:28 isn't about a secret rapture/appearing. Paul is explaining to the Hebrews that at his second coming those who look for him know he was the fulfillment of the Law. He was offered only once for our sins. He doesn't need to be offered again and again.
Every eye & nation on earth is going to see him coming in the clouds (Rev 1:7).

Luke 21 and Matt 24 are 2 accounts of the same thing. But Luke studied under Paul and learned the Rapture. In Luke 21:28 ...when these things begin to happen look up..." vs. 36 accounted worthy to escape...." in the greek vannish is part of the def of escape.
@passnthrou The word "escape" in Luke 21:36 is ekpheugo in Greek. Used 5 times in the NT and translated as escape or flee, not vanish. The word for "vanish" in the NT is aphantos & slight variations on the word. Jas 4:14, Luke 24:31, Heb 8:13.

@passnthrou Actually I have a large hardcover Young's Concordance/Lexicon that I use. Pheugo by itself is used a number of times, but never literally translated as "vanish". Strong's #5354 says vanish, by analogy.
Jesus gives us a head's up on end time events so we're prepared. Just as he does tell us to watch and look up. Anticipate and look forward to when he comes. For those who don't expect him (and worse, reject him) He's coming like a thief in the night. It's one event.

But He will come as a thief in the night on the Day of the Lord which will begin the Great Tribulation of 7 years and He will finally come to earth at it's conclusion.

@passnthrou Right, Harpazo is the original greek word. Used a number of times in the NT scriptures. In Matt. Jesus' parable of the sower, when one who receives the word by the wayside, satan "catches away" what was sown in his heart. In John's Gospel, after Jesus blesses the 7 loaves & fishes & feeds the multitude, he perceives that they're gonna "take him by force" and make him King, so he leaves before they can do that.
cont. The word harpazo & it's later Latin translation by itself can be positive or negative in it's usage. But it's been blown up to represent an event, "Rapture of the Church" (a phrase found nowhere in scripture). And in doing so all this debate has risen about the timing of it.
If the title would be used more as Jesus phrased it, "Gathering together of his Elect", there would be no debate on the timing. Even Paul doesn't use "harpazo" in 2 thess. He says "our gathering unto him".
@KapaMan00 , actually i have pages of notes on the "gathering of the elect" and the "great assembly". they prove a pre trib rapture, the great assembly takes place in heaven. that means we have to be with Yeshua in heaven for a period of time before we return with Him at the glorious appearence.

What verses do you use for the great assembly in heaven?
@AbaloneKid I wouldn't argue that Rev. ch 4 is a great assembly. However, it's not yet complete (Rev.5:3). In Rev. ch 7 John sees the 144,000 sealed & the uncountable multitude, (nations/tongues) that come out of great tribulation. Is it a greater assembly? Yes. John is given a preview of what he describes in more detail which The Word speaks to me as "The" Great assembly/church, congregation/synogouge. Those who's names are written in the Book of Life & are part of the New Jerusalem.

John did not know them and the church is never depicted as serving God in any Temple which lends itself to the Jew's and their service to the Lord throughout the 1000 year rule of Christ in Israel. @passnthrou Paul's use of the greek word for "general assembly" (paneguris), is very interesting. It was a greek religious assembly. Used by Paul to represent a "whole assembly" (& a joyful one). It is in the Heavenly Jerusalem with God the Father. The Church of the Firstborn who's names are written in Heaven is, I think better represents Rev. 20:11 and Rev. ch 21.
@KapaMan00 , Paul may have used a greek turm but it was a Hebrew concept started by ezra and Nehemiah. Everything in the new test. is pictured(concealed) in the OT. learning about/understanding the origional usually gives new light on the New.

It saddens my spirit to see so many videos claiming there is a pre tribulation rapture. If there was a pre tribulation rapture, Rev. 16:15 would NOT be located where it is - between the description of the 6th & 7th vial of God's wrath.
When the Bible says.. "The dead shall raised first" before anyone is raptured, it's not lying. It's tell you the truth.

@Hooverdarnit Mate, Im believeing for pre trib but ready for , post trib, personally mate the scriptures seem to indicate pre, without going into too much detail in a short box, the main one for me is John 14 v 1-3 and the Jewish wedding analogy that seem to fit perfectly into these verses. @TheAnandaXX I do not wish bad things to happen to people who have different opinion. I let God decide what to do with them and to what extent. If you ever read the bible, You will find that im a very milder version of the Prophet Elisha. 2 times he called fire from heaven on 2 groups of 50 mighty soldiers with their captain just because they were arrogant and raise their voices on him.
Where it is due, I do recommend to God that lessons need to be learned, I let Him decide what to do.

Abalone, you are doing a good work. but one minor error. "Jacobs trouble" is a Jewish tradition referring to the seven years Jacob worked for his wife but was cheated. this is the reason i hold to a 7 year tribulation( with great trib being the 2nd 3.5 years) not a 3.5 year tribulation. God Bless

Paul's sent the second letter to the Thessalonian church to correct a false doctrine that was being spread. That teaching was a pre-tribulation rapture. Some say it's a modern teaching. Others trace it back to 3rd or 4th century theology, but it started right off in Christianity & Paul dealt with it.
I think it's an err to pick which of the 7 Churches of Revelation we are today. Because really, it's all of them. Note how Jesus titles himself. "First & Last". So are the 7 Churches.

The period of great tribulation is not God's Wrath. That comes after he does and we're caught up to meet him.

@passnthrou Hebrews 9:28 isn't about a secret rapture/appearing. Paul is explaining to the Hebrews that at his second coming those who look for him know he was the fulfillment of the Law. He was offered only once for our sins. He doesn't need to be offered again and again.
Every eye & nation on earth is going to see him coming in the clouds (Rev 1:7).

Luke 21 and Matt 24 are 2 accounts of the same thing. But Luke studied under Paul and learned the Rapture. In Luke 21:28 ...when these things begin to happen look up..." vs. 36 accounted worthy to escape...." in the greek vannish is part of the def of escape.

@passnthrou The word "escape" in Luke 21:36 is ekpheugo in Greek. Used 5 times in the NT and translated as escape or flee, not vanish. The word for "vanish" in the NT is aphantos & slight variations on the word. Jas 4:14, Luke 24:31, Heb 8:13.

@passnthrou Actually I have a large hardcover Young's Concordance/Lexicon that I use. Pheugo by itself is used a number of times, but never literally translated as "vanish". Strong's #5354 says vanish, by analogy.
Jesus gives us a head's up on end time events so we're prepared. Just as he does tell us to watch and look up. Anticipate and look forward to when he comes. For those who don't expect him (and worse, reject him) He's coming like a thief in the night. It's one event.

Jesus' parable of the sower, when one who receives the word by the wayside, satan "catches away" what was sown in his heart. In John's Gospel, after Jesus blesses the 7 loaves & fishes & feeds the multitude, he perceives that they're gonna "take him by force" and make him King, so he leaves before they can do that.

cont. The word harpazo & it's later Latin translation by itself can be positive or negative in it's usage. But it's been blown up to represent an event, "Rapture of the Church" (a phrase found nowhere in scripture). And in doing so all this debate has risen about the timing of it.
If the title would be used more as Jesus phrased it, "Gathering together of his Elect", there would be no debate on the timing. Even Paul doesn't use "harpazo" in 2 thess. He says "our gathering unto him".

In Rev. ch 7 John sees the 144,000 sealed & the uncountable multitude, (nations/tongues) that come out of great tribulation. Is it a greater assembly? Yes. John is given a preview of what he describes in more detail which The Word speaks to me as "The" Great assembly/church, congregation/synogouge. Those who's names are written in the Book of Life & are part of the New Jerusalem.

@KapaMan00 I offer this, my brother: first Chap 7 describes 144,000 Israelites called to serve and not the church,next a scene in Heaven; these are Church Saints, Trib saints serving God in His temple above. 2 points. John did not know them and the church is never depicted as serving God in any Temple which lends itself to the Jew's and their service to the Lord throughout the 1000 year rule of Christ in Israel. I say the church was there first (rapture) then the trib saints(Jew and gentile).

@passnthrou Paul's use of the greek word for "general assembly" (paneguris), is very interesting. It was a greek religious assembly. Used by Paul to represent a "whole assembly" (& a joyful one). It is in the Heavenly Jerusalem with God the Father. The Church of the Firstborn who's names are written in Heaven is, I think better represents Rev. 20:11 and Rev. ch 21.
