  • very impractical.

  • "The concept is both good and original; but the part which is good is not original, and the part which is original is not good."

  • I don't believe this is viable as you would need to displace how many cubic-meters of soil? and relies on the grid to empty it's "bladder". Wouldn't be my first definition of "renewable energy source". Nice concept and, to me, a better power generation than coal/gas-fired carbon-monoxide pumps!

  • stupid ideas no energy produce by this method. place a hole fill with water submerge in the bath tub and see for yourself dump ass

  • i thought i thought i thought of this first. you dont need a river though

  • this is very good.. FUTURE

  • This system turns wind and solar from intermittent sources to baseload power. The Aquabank is like a big battery.

It's not a renewable energy system .. it goes a long way towards enabling the addition of renewable energy to the system.

When I showed one of the founders of Riverbank how to create this system, my idea had both the upper and lower reservoirs under ground. Eliminate environmental problems.

The best part of this system is that it's not patentable...so you don't need Riverbank.

  • AWESOME!

  • well if you think on the positive side in order to get enough power to meet our demand of our daily lives there would have to be a whole lot of those. a whole lot of those river banks would need people to design, build, and operate the machines and that would give alot of unemployed people some jobs. especially since the economy is going to the bucket in north america.

  • it seems that soe of the energy produced is used up back to pump the water back into the water source

  • i totally agree that fish and other aquatic life forms are threatened by this method, and hence this method is not as environmentally friendly as it looks to be. besides it needs massive digging and huge initial capital to start off with.

  • My brother was "googling" about a recent accident in a local quarry along the Hudson River, when he stumbled across a press item about this group's proposal to the Feds for a plant inside this quarry. No one in town, including town officials had any idea about this. Also, the plan for this site is to drill holes 2000ft down below the quarry in an area less than half a mile from a Nuke plant losing 10 of 1000,s of gallons of nuclear contaminated H20 per yr. Seems like a bad idea for this spot.

  • It's about GREED, not GREEN...

  • what I want to know, Is what happens to the fish?

  • they can always put some kind of gate that blocks fish from going in there

  • The reason that this is "Green" is because it creates more power during the peak times without turning on "dirty" generation such as coal which causes 40% of the planets C02. Its our ability to turn clean generation into a viable business that will eventually pull our heads out of the oil sands.

  • How can you call this "Green" when the plant consumes more energy than it produces and also does not use renewable energy? This is simply a for profit model that sells electricity at peak demand periods during the day (when prices are highest) and consumes energy at low demand periods at night.

  • What am I missing, it seems a lot like perpetual motion. If any of the power sources needed to reset the system fail or don't supply the needed energy what will happen.
