I can't say that Kinfolk 9 sucked...they made it through the auditions and 3 episodes. They had a number of flaws (cohesion) but they were not that bad.
What about Tanner Wilson From BYU VocalPoint he was really really good, Shawn Stockman said that he was one of the baddest beatboxers he has seen before.
Wow, y'all. I know it's labeled "battle," but this video is anything but that. The premise we were given to work with was to start a groove and each trade 8s throwing in something different, the purpose being to complement each other, not outshine. And for those of us who don't focus on projection and rely on mic technique for the majority of the sounds that define our style, going off-mic was not the most friendly. Sorry we couldn't meet your expectations, but that was never really our goal.

There was that one guy a couple years back on American Idol and he was probably the best I ever saw. These guys (and gal) without question are amazing
Try watching the sing-off now in 2011. YellowJackets? They came ot my school, and their beatboxer could make all these noises by himself with no other beatboxers. Courntey is NOT the best.

None of them are close to the girl who did the beatbox for the backbeats last year. She was fantastic. She actually sounded like a 5 piece set. I sure hope they do better on the sing off.
@RonBand01 I will never understand why everyone worships Courtney. I mean, she's a great beatboxer, especially since it's a male-dominated field. But why people think that she's the greatest beatboxer in the history of the Sing-Off is beyond me.
Also, the reason none of them sound like a 5 piece set is because it's supposed to be a collaboration, with each one contributing something.
@SuperGraphicMan i sooooooo agree, this whole obsession with courtney is overrated! i mean, yes, i appreciate courtney's talent! but that doesn't make her better than everyone! sooooooo many beatboxers in singoff are awesome - if not, dare i say, more awesome even.

Three amazing beatboxers from this season: Tanner from Vocal Point, Kevin from Pentatonix, and Brian from Afro-Blue, who, in my opinion, was one of the most underrated beatboxers the show's ever had. No offense to professional beatboxers, but almost anyone can do a standard hip-hop track. You ever try doing a jazz beatbox? The stuff he was doing was sick, and most of it was without heavy beats.

When Courtney Jensen would've been the best beatboxer ever, they would have asked her for the mouth percussion, instead of Geena Glaser! I respect her since she was the one who really showed me the Sing-Off.
I think I was looking at acapella music, found one underviewed artist that was amazing,
Saw her beatboxing,
Saw a commercial for her beatboxxing video,
And then found her on Sing-Off.
Where then I was blown away by the awesomeness of the Sing-Off.
In essence,
I guess I just respect her a lot for being so good in b-box~
