phuket is a gd place to learn to surf, go to karon beach. there is a surf club there by life guard tower( facing the sea it is down the right hand end of the beach) ask for 'char-tree' , he is a great instructor, cheap and a gd laugh. they also rent boards. KARON BEACH SURF CLUB.
how consistant is the swell btwn may - oct I mean if i go during that time will I definately get waves does it get any bigger than that the waves dont look very powerful looks like gutless wind swell did u get it better than this at any time?

It's mostly shore break close out waves all the way down to naiharn. Bali rules, no doubt.
there are couple decent reef breaks on phuket though. but i no like say whea.

It was shot in August. There are only waves during the monsoon season; May - October

yeah i went in september and it was probably surfable, actually quite clean but only bout 2 or 3 foot, fun though.
