@bailarin92 my friend; you set us in peace (people in search of this tune) for long time.. to me, the version in The Party sounds better but anyway, thanks a lot again..
also: Kenny Burrell - Midnight Blue / Ramsey Lewis Trio - Wade In The Water / Donald Byrd - Slow Drag / Donald Byrd - Cantaloupe Island / some Grover Washington / Weather Reports - Birdland ......
not sure but i think the girl is credited as Wiggy. Elianne Nadeau.. she must be around her mid sixties now... Wiggy, -as she appears in the movie- is % 100 ideal girlfriend.. i wish i found one of her now in 2010.. by the way, i'd like to know the name of the song as well.
If you're talking Traffic the english rock band form late 60s... then you're very far...
I've been looking for that tune for ages... the only ones to my knowledge playing that kind of phrasing were Stanley Turrentine and Stan Getz. Although these kind riffs on blues grids (that constitute THE vibe of stylish english party's of the 70's that late gave birth to the acid jazz movement) were considered as easy and there are not many records by stanley and stan with this kinda stuff.
@DSmooch Well, of course Henry Mancini did the soundtrack to this movie, but I expect you'd have to credit the individual musicians in this little combo for their own improv work. I'd downloaded a Mancini tune called 'Wiggy', but it isn't this piece, more of a bigger, brassy piece.
is there an accent that peter cannot do?!!!

the reason girls cannot dance this way today is because when we danced this way, it was to seduce. no one has sex any longer.

@SemmySchilt Yeah, I think she is credited Wiggy. I guess it's because she looks and dresses like Twiggy.

anyone with actual names with that type of vibe is welcome to contribute...

@DSmooch Wes Montgomery's "California Dreaming" LP from 1967 has that kind of vibe. You also may want to look up the work of Gerry Mulligan.
