Sam Hornish Jr sucks. Look at his stats in NASCAR: no wins, , a bunch of wrecks, a best finish of 13th, and 35th in points, where both of his teammates each won a race and finished 17th and 18th in points
qué final emocionante, soy chileno, y fue de verdad vibrante con los andretti en la punta y hornish viniendo a ganar cometiendo errores en pits y siendo sancionado, Pombo dijo: "no creo que tenga tiempo Hornish".
Anybody know if Hornish and Franchitti will drive in the 08 indy 500. They sure could use some success. BTW, if Indy is more talented, why do all of the drivers leave for Nascar? Stewart, Hornish, Franchitti are all in Nascar now. As are F1 drivers Montoya and Villnuve who have been in indy.
As far as i know, Penske entered a 3rd car for Indy. I have no idea who would drive it, but i have the feeling it could be Hornish, as he is not doing very well in NASCAR, and Penske already signed David Stremme as test driver, so i think he may get into the #77 for Nascar's Coca Cola 600
Drivers leave for NASCAR because that's where the money is. Plain and simple. Tony Stewart always made it known that his ultimate goal was the Indianapolis 500, but after while, money stood in the way of that.
Marco did not give it up on purpose; he did not BLOCK Hornish's attempt; i.e., serious, but fair, auto racing.
I can respect some, if not all, of the NASCAR drivers...I cannot respect the organization, which changes rules, including EXTENDING THE DISTANCE OF RACES, for "excitement." Mears would've beaten Johnock in '82, if he'd had another lap. But he didn't; it's 500 miles, not 502.5 (and yes, I know about the 1995 race, which still rankles me).
Maybe you should quit taking ecstasy. If you want me to leave you alone, then stop making comments on NASCAR videos. You don't like it anyway, so stop it.
I've told you before, Marco gave it up on purpose. Besides, if Penske is a jerk, why is he letting Sam race in NASCAR, the greatest motorsport in the world?
What's Hornish supposed to do, not try to pass Marco and win on the last lap? What's Team Penske supposed to do, blow their last pit the same way they did in '82? It's not Team Penske's fault for the Andretti curse at the 500. They just happen to be good and lucky at the 500 for some reason.
Marco threw that race away. Watch his entry to 3 on the last lap. He turned in way earlier than Hornish & was a full car width down on the track. Hornish gained all of the ground & the momentum he needed to win between the entry to 3 and the entry to the short chute. Awesome finish.
Just think how great that finish would have been had people been actually watching. Sadly, since '96, attendance and TV ratings have been in a death spiral. Indy is great not because of TG, but in spite of him.
in the video on the front stretch at about 14 seconds watch sam going thru the traffic he is weaving in an out he wanted it bad i was there in the 3rd turn we all thought he was going to wreck he was using every bit of the race track up..thats real racing.
This is why INDY is still KING. The constant dicing of cars at 230 mph and incredibly close finishes. Tony George who was (and probably still is) hated by many is a true visionary. NASCAR, with it's restrictor plates is like watching cars pass on the interstate. Indy is REAL racing, with overtaking and high speed thrills. You can not make mistake in open wheels... true drivers! INDY IS KING!!!!
Ever since I saw Hornish nip Marco at the end, I've always hated him and Penske. It just wasn't fair. I so wanted Michael to win that race. If I were him, I would keep at it every year until he finally wins it.
I still can't bear myself to watch it, I was honestly heartbroken after this race, I was pulling for Michael to finally win it so he doesn't need to come back for like the 20th time. The only other time I've felt like that was when Schumachers engine blew up at Suzuaka in 06.

it can't compare Indy to NASCAR, it's like compare an egg with a watermeloon.
it takes too long to a driver "get the way" of NASCAR and vise and versa
