  • Well done again. Excellent use of your space and very thoughtful of the little peoples space.

  • I realized something while watching this video; that i need to think of my toddler as somewhat of a handicap due to her size and so i need to rearrange her living environment in a way that makes things accessible to her so that she can take on a more active role in her daily life. Thank you for these videos. You are a great mom.

  • This was so inspiring and helpful. Thank you so much for sharing it! I love the fridge ideas, the kitchen cupboard with just his things in it and making everything his size and accessable to him. I'll be incorporatg hose ideas into our home for sure. You are doing an amazing job and you are such a wonderful Mum. Thank again for sharing this.

  • I'm just learning of Montessori approach to education. No kids, not even married, but I do have a developing interest in alternative education. I've researched unschool, was home schooled, which is okay, but I wish we had known about the Montessori view on learning. I like this far better than unschool which I thought I really enjoyed this, but Montessori is much more practical and filled with opportunities for respecting things, people and others with guidance. Unschool has too many cons.

  • @glowingdarkmatter25 I've developed my approach as a mix of both montessori and unschooling because they actually have many aspects in common. I would be interested to know what was a con for as a person who was educated with unschooling. thanks for sharing.

  • @willowtreephoto The cons are more of my concerns toward unschooling. I love unschooling ideas. I've read many books, sites and videos on it. What I'm not liking is the sporadicness of it day in and day out. The unparenting I agree with. Sure, do not agree with. Don't hover over your kid. That's a great idea. But do we have to do away with Mom and Dad to really unschool the kids. (I'm just a young adult looking into alternative education and academic technologies. )

  • It is so inspirational, because we probably are as pour as you (we have 5 children) and we also love Montessori method. Your husband must be very proud of you. You are the Mom!

  • Good work. I have 2 years old son and I am learning everyday. Thank you and must say you are a wonderful mom. I love montessorie method too, but we don't have any montessori school near our house, so sending him to regular school from next year.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I just came across it. I have a 7 month old and will be implementing a lot of this when he is older

  • As a Montessori teacher...I am well impressed! You are a thoughtful, observant and loving mother. What a gift you are giving Edward! Your videos have made me tear up and made me proud of the work I do.

  • I love your videos. My daughter is 21 months old I am am just beginning to start the Montessori method with her. On a side note can you please tell me where you purchased that awesome kitchen rug?

  • Hi, I just want to say you've inspired me!! I started by reading the same book as you, and it's just so helpful to see another Mom adapting the method to everyday life, with "regular" appartment space. Sometimes I just get this blank, I don't know what I can do, I wonder if I'm stuck, if someone is going through what I am (emptying shelves!).. Just GREAT!!!!

  • I train Montessori teachers for the Association Montessori Interanationale. Thanks for your thoughtful and loving videos. They will send a powerful message-- of how we can better help our children grow--far and wide.

  • LOVE THIS!!!! Thanks for posting!!

  • Wow. I have heard about Montessori before, but I never knew this is what I was aching for my Daughter to have in her world. She is 23 months. She is frustrated and so am I. I have been using a few of these techniques before knowing the philosophy behind Montessori, I now understand a door has been open!

  • I have enjoyed ALL of your videos that I have watched so far. Thank you for introducing me to yet another method of parenting that makes sense that I was not aware of!

  • Oh you are so right on about the toy overload thing! I was also a nanny to families with toy overload. It was overwhelming for me as well as the kids.

Great videos. Thank you so much for sharing. He is a lovely child and you are a wonderful Mommy.

  • Great video. I agree about the toys. You do a great job presenting the information, too.

  • Great video, I have just started looking into Montessori and your videos helped alot. I just have one question, I don't know if you'd be able to answer, I was just wondering if Montessori is based on Christian values? I am a born again christian and want to keep those values as a high priority.

  • yes it is, maria montessori was a catholic, her method includes lots of teaching on peace, and it's just up to you how you customize it. really her method is something very separate from religion and people will all faiths and no faith can use it and be pleased.

  • Thanks for that, I have been doing more research and I have fallen in love with the Montessori Method, I am going to buy that book you have too. I went to the shops today and bought a mirror, some frames to hang pictures in her room down low and I am taking the cot out. Yours is a great video, I'd love to know how you and edward are getting along now. Are you home schooling him or sending him to a montessori school?

  • willowtreephoto, wow was so glad i came across your video, you look so young, and you are alreaddy so wise, was wondering if youd like to keep in touch with me through email, i am a mum of 3 girls but am still learning

  • Thanks so much for sharing!

  • You are brillliant. what most parent will read about, but in no way able to execute you have summed it up clearly and simple to follow. Truly inspirational. do please continue to enlighten us learning parents.

  • thank you very much for your video. Just started with learning about montessori philsophy, and now you are sharing so many good ideas for home! I have a 20 months old little boy - so will soon change our home with your good ideas. :) :) thank you - I can't wait to learn more from you.

  • You are the best mommy ever! Such an inspiration!

  • Thanks for putting your life on camera! I love the floor bed, I am definately considering that for my next baby! It was just the affirmation I needed to make my 19-month olds crib a toddler bed. It is sooooo nice to watch someone like-minded

  • Great job! You're wise beyond your years. You're such a good teacher! I'm amazed your son slept through you talking like that! :)

  • you are such a great mother! I really enjoy your videos - you are an inspiration.

  • i love your videos and the way you are applying the montessori method in your home! I read the book you referred to in the first video and I was overwhelmed too. How do you select the toys you have and do you buy the expensive ones from the catalog?

  • Thank you so much for doing this video. I wish more mums who know and have the same passion for the montessori method would do the same. Please keep making more of these and hopefully word will spread and this would be a great helps for mums who are expecting and are interested.

  • i loved your video.. your doing great. the montessori philosophy is amazing!! i work at a montessori school and i am still amazed at what the children can accomplish. i wish all the parents would take the methods to the home also.. it would make our job at the school a lot easier!! :)

  • are you still nursing?

  • Love your videos. Keep making more.

  • Awesome!!! My son is 11 months old ..and you've giving me some great ideas...that i think will help lots.thanks for posting a great video. :o)

  • Wow!!! Awesome job!!! You're a really...really good mom! I'm still trying to get my home straight :( less=more!!!

  • Good for you....we have two of our three in montessori preschool. It is great; as for your house layout, that is great for yourlittle one. It has given me lots of ideas for going forward...

  • I like your video, thanks for sharing the ideas!

  • Wow his little bed is awesome! You have inspired me so much! I got a huge sense of emotion watching this video. It just shows u theres so much to learn about the needs and growing minds of toddlers! Have you thought about having more children?

  • You showed me that the stations dont all have to be in classroom where I first planned it. It is nice to have things set up all over the house since we dont live in the classroom. I love your idea about putting up pictures where my 30 month old can see them too!

    Thank you!

  • What a wonderful video! Thank you for putting the time to do this. It was very encouraging and inspiring.

  • Thank you for your videos. I have been creating Montessori stations in my home as well, but had very little reference to do so. Excellent videos! I was wondering, though, where you found the little chair he sits in. I've been looking for one.

  • OMG! You are such an inspiration! I read the book and have the catalog, and got so overwhelmed by them...You are so practical applying everything in the book. How old is Edward now? -Believe me, there is no such thing as terrible twos when you understand that they only want independence and respect. Thank you for making these videos!

  • i am so glad this has helped you, that means so much to me!

edward turned two a few weeks ago.

    how old is your child?

thank you for your kind words.
