@liquidus2172 You are so right. I remember as a kid in Japan watching the premiere of the Tetsujin 28-go animation in 1963. The American version Gigantor that came a year later had most of the early episode of the original eliminated when Tetsujin 28-go, which still not equipped with the twin rocket pack, fought the earlier 27-go version. I started to read the comic version since 1961 and Antarctic Press even published Gigantor comics in 2000 with my own art and editorial about Iron Giant.

@liquidus2172 You are so right! I watched the premiere of Tetsujin 28go anime in 1963 as a kid in Japan and read the manga version since 1961. Antarctic Press published Gigantor in 2000 in color with my art and even an editorial about the evolution of Tetsujin 20go, it's American version, Gigantor and its obvious off spring, the Iron Giant.

@MrJmandude no you're wrong, "Tetsujin 28-go" is a manga written and illustrated by Mitsuteru Yokoyama in 1956.
The Iron Giant is based on the 1968 novel "The Iron Man" by Ted Hughes.
tetsujin came 12 years before!! so i must say that iron giant is the american version of Tetsujin 28-go
