@SSDILLOW I just want you to know I myself have atteneded Fellowship Church (Ed Young's church) since before grade school, I have volunteered for two years now, and now am on staff at Fellowship. I am not replying to state that I know more than anyone else on this site, or to judge those who believe, those who don't, and those who don't even care. I am just here to state the facts, Ed Young has many times visted Joel's campus and from his messages I have only come to hear positive words.

@paulodooby out of the mouth come life and death because of a word nations have been destroyed and with the same mouth we praise and worship God and for traditional Christians we take the body and blood of Christ with that mouth.. furthermore even secular science have found that words are extremely powerful check out the "rice experiment" by dr Emoto scientist..

If Christianity helps you be a better person, then great, good for you. However, don't for a second think that it makes you better than somebody else.

We have proof of dinosaurs living millions of years ago but no proof that Jesus was the son of God. Also, why wouldn't he inform all the people of the Earth of this great master plan instead of a chosen handful of cities in the most advanced and wealthy society on the planet?

It's time we put away unwholesome, unhealthy talk and act like the new creatrues we are supposed to be. When it comes to being "hip" and "all that," the end never justifies the means. Our words and deeds should reflect Christ and what He has done for us. When non-believers cannot tell the difference between the language and behavior of those inside and outside the Church, we have failed them and ourselves. Who is King of our lives: Christ, or MTV?

Before I was saved, I had a horrible potty mouth! It was who I was. But I have been changed through the renewing of my mind and heart in Christ Jesus!! Not to say I am perfect, but if I slip, I immediately repent. It's not okay anymore! It does not glorify God, nor does it draw people to Him! I am "real" in Christ. mxpxer, read Colossians 3:1-10. As Christians, we are supposed to be different from the world, and that is a choice of obedience on our part. To deny the flesh and tame our tongue. I can do all things through Christ!

You must be talking about the ethnically inaccurate depiction of a white Jesus. Of all the pictures posted around the church, there are probably fewer pictures of Ed than anyone else. I can honestly only think of one picture of him, and it's his picture on the list of speakers for a mens event.

Also, Ed is in it for the lost. This is not a game of egos for him. Anyone who thinks otherwise does so in ignorance.

Jesus loves Ed Young. He despises what Ed Young is doing, building an empire of little "Young'uns" following him into his EGO-EMPIRE. Jesus never said his blessings were for sale. He never said, "If you do this for ME, you lucky Dawgg, and I'll do something good for YOU!" Ed Young knows he is promoting a lie based on a non-Biblical ego-based mantra designed to topple his archrival Joel down in Houston. They're playing King on the Mountain. Chief Guru of the world. Big Mullah. It's sad.

If he can start a revival all over this world, then give him a fleet of planes and let him with the help of you affect the Natoins. The church is a Theocracy, not a democracy. Spend more time lifting him up before god, and not limiting the church to human sense. God's desires spirit of unity to his church!

I'm tired of so many "christians" and "leaders" that use vulgar speach on Media Networds as well in the pullpitt for shock value. And acronims are no diffferent. There is life and death is in the tonque, and crude humore should grieve your spirit. In ministry or next alter call begins as soon as the last one ends.

so why not say it? it is what it is.. I respect pastors or leaders or what have you who don't cuss. But for some of us it's apart of the language we know. should we be denied the privilege to serve in the Kingdom along side you all because of how we speak? I'm no way endorsing those who "cuss to be cool".. It isn't cool, it's just who we are. I understand how some preachers cuss to sound "cool" as you guys put it. But for some people it's just us being real. I grew up in a place where cussing was normal. I now am a college student and lead a bible study for 18 highschool guys that I met at local coffee shops and music venues. I don't see anything wrong with being real with my guys. Sometimes I'm having a shitty day.. and I tell them just that. When we talk about injustice in the world.. We realized things are fucked up.

He doesn't own a private jet and neither does the church. They lease a jet to use for speaking engagements. None of the money needed to operate the jet come from the church. Why is it wrong for a pastor who is traveling to spread God's word wrong but a celebrity or business man has every right to utilize private jet? Hmm...

Scripture says if we have a weaker brother in our lives, who does not understand our freedom in Christ, then because of our love for that brother, we might be wise to be cautious and careful in our behaviors, so as not to offend the person. Thats an act of love, its an act of grace toward a weaker brother - someone whos not strong in grace. Therefore I feel preachers who cuss do not deserve being called ministers, because they are disrespecting God's word.

@siddigrl and to add, I don't care that it offends me but if it turns someone I love from the gospel then we have a problem. And to read comments on the "preaching cussers" (sic)- you can see that even non-believers can see that it is immoral and wrong. If a non-believer knows right from wrong better than a Christian- what a sad sad thing we have done in carrying the Gospel to those that don't believe. We have only encouraged them in their unbelief and have not helped them at all.

I don't think the words "screwed" or "sucks" are cuss words.  But other than that, I agree with his message.

we should definitely rebuke pastors for cussing from the pulpit... but first i think we should rebuke pastors for buying multi-million dollar jets for personal use to go to the bahamas.

Why are "The Cussing Pastor" comments disabled? I understand his point, but I have never seen or heard a pastor do what he is saying in all of the churches we visit and blogs we look at when finding ministers for the church. Who are these men he is talking about?

I think the first thing I am compelled to do is understand the word "corrupt" in this passage and to look into the idea of "edifying, that it may minister grace unto heaven." I think being real and talking in LOVE is vital and if we are obedient to the Holy Spirit and to NO ONE else then we will speak exactly what needs to be spoken, even if it defies certain ideas we may have about cussing or something along those lines. God is bigger than that.
