  • how's the trigger pull? in comparison to a colt or a smith

  • @pjgraves1975 ....Balls na jk just get ya just get use to it. Fire a bunch of guns and notice you keep your eyes open. Kind of like a scary movie, I know something scary will happen so I know it's coming and brace myself.

  • lol...i got dat same type but my is sooooooo beautiful i cant wait to bang it

  • Mcallen tx awesome iam from edinburg

  • @MrZombiejosh23 cool man, always looking for shooting buddies...we should go shooting sometime. :)

  • Still trying to figure out how those bullet impact marks got on that first overhead baffle

  • @12799MaDeuce meeeee too. lol

  • Wondering a good way to keep from squinting at the muzzle flash...I'm good using a .38 load in my GP100, but for the .357, I find I squint due to the flash.

  • @pjgraves1975 hmm, not sure. shaded shooting glasses?

  • what grain bullet do u use in ur gun?

  • @afrojake100 158 for the magnums

  • I have the GP 100 in 4in , 158grn 357 is all I shoot in it and I love the recoil..thanks for the vid..

  • @thebeans380 those are all i shoot too :)

  • hows the recoil?

  • @NIKON777 not that bad due to the full size under lug..

  • Yeah got me one of these a couple years ago and I love it more than my wife.

  • @rizzzo311 lol, funny stuff.

  • Is it possible to get this gun with fixed sights? I feel uncomfortable with adjustable.

  • @DeWiz001 they do make one with fixed sights, but only offer it in the 3" model.

  • @Abomb520 That's unfortunate, thank you though.

  • @DeWiz001 why do you feel uncomfortable with adjustable sights?

  • @zachk1983 I always snag them on clothing and such. As well as I don't like the idea of my sights moving in the least.

  • Sexy, powerful, reliable, and heavy. THIS is what I want for my first handgun.

  • I prefer a 4" for duty use & open carried mine when I lived in Ky.When I first bought my GP 100 20 years ago,I noticed with the .38 Specials,it didn't recoil as much but the .357s made the gun stand up & say "Hello!".

  • @doughesson lol, yeah with that huge underlug running down the large 6" barrel, any 38spl will feel light. heh, magnums have a voice.

  • Nice! I just purchased this gun and can't wait to take it to the range. Beautiful, yet rugged- you can't go wrong!

I almost didn't go with the 6", but after getting home with it and holding it (and yes, posing with it in front of the mirror...that's what we like to do when we get home with a new addition to the family), I knew I had picked the right gun!

  • i bought this gun for my father for Christmas 1995. For my b-day back in june he suprised me and gave it back. I fkn love this gun, out of all my pistols its by far my fav. ;-)

  • what a trip i have a bersa thunder .380 and am going to buy a ruger gp100 .357 magnum today!

  • @teeeeeedofffffffffff ha, thats awesome man.

  • I have the 5" because I found the 6" to be a little nose heavy while sighting. Anyone else notice this?

  • I love the 6" barrel version ... it's my night stand gun.

  • @jsmonk lol, must have a big nightstand!

  • man you can tell the guns had alot of rounds tho it got to love a mag :)

  • Why do those ceiling panels have so many bullet holes in them?

  • @DahnHaes I ask myself the same question all the time... lol. who is the shooter with horrific marksmanship?

  • @DahnHaes

I ask myself the same question on the indoor range I go to. There's even bullet holes in the table we stand behind.

  • i love this gun i have it with a wooden grip and black steel love it

  • nice firearms my friend. I wonder how the recoil is on your 4" GP100 vs. the 6". boy, I'd like to get a hand on one of those 454's some day... thanks for watching.

  • Bought my 357 GP100 4" stainnless from Buds 2 months ago for $ 515. with free shipping. Have a Taurus ragingbull 454 casull with 6" and a S&W 44 mag in 5 " and the Ruger is much more fun to shoot than they are. Top quality and built to last a lifetime. Try an Uncle Mikes Sidekick or a Readyholster....both under 20 bucks and work great. Was using a Gripswell pistol shooting glove with the 454 and 44, but the Ruger GP100 strength tames the recoil a lot.

  • i just paid $515 for mine today brand new. ordered it from buds gun shop. this will be my 1st ever gun.

  • @maskedman72 good choice for a first gun. with 357mag, now anything smaller, like 9mm, will seem weak to you. lol.

  • @maskedman72 I got a Ruger GP100 Stainless w/ a 4 inch Barrel - it was my first gun, too. I absolutely love it! It handles .357 like a dream and when you shoot .38 spl, it feels like your shooting a .22!!!

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do. Such a good price for an amazing revolver.

  • thats the range i go to in mcallen

  • i miss that revolver it was only 350 bucks

  • what was the other gun you had sitting next to it? was that a bersa thunder .380?

  • @jubeikiba6 yes sir it was

  • I bought my GP100 in 2004 for about 450 bucks new. They have gone up since. Amazing revolver, tuff as nails. Will out live me for sure, especially since i only shoot it maybe 5 or 6 times a year, but always with Hot loads for that fun factor.

i dont know what finish they where doing though when i picked mine up, but its not as purdy as the new ones with stainless. Mine is a dull almost grey metallic. I still love it though, and it didnt come with the new hogue grips ruger is shipping them with

  • @bottle2lip - Sounds like you either have nickel or brushed stainless. Doesn't sound bad to me at all. If you want it shiny, just polish it with some Flitz. Also, the original grips with wood insert were better than ones with regular hogue monogrips. The only hogue grips that feel good with the gp100 is the hogue tamer grips.

  • man i remember shooting 357 out of a 4inch smith and wesson that thing kicked like a bitch lol not very fun to shoot

  • interesting how strong the ventilation is, blowing the smoke plume away

primers have quite a bit of lead in

    copper bullets?

  • The GP100 is one mighty tough revolver (IMO the stoutest mass-produced .357 Magnum ever); I LOVE my 4" SS .357! Sure wish Crossbreed made a SuperTuck IWB for them, though... I also have the SP101, 3-1/16" .357 to rotate concealed carry with my SIG.

    Have fun and shoot safe.

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YESSSSSSSSSS SIRRRRRR FELLLT THAT BRUTE POWER THROUGH MY DAMN MONITOR!!!!!!!

    HELL YEA

  • OMG this gun look sexy

  • @5lktafjer lol, heh. yep it does.

  • Great video! I can also see why the range is called Hole In The Wall hah. Looks like a swiss cheese

  • @Antarath lol, yep yep. it does.

  • How much did everyone Pay for thier GP100? Just curious. After tax mine was like $588. Just bought it yesterday and really want to get out and put some rounds thru it. :)

  • @4thReichProductions my cousin payed only 300 smackers for his... used though, of course

  • @Abomb520 Ya I think I payed a biut much but I guess its worth $588 as its a Ruger, is built like a tank and with care will last me my entire lifetime

  • @4thReichProductions I purchased mine new, on Feb 13 1998, and paid $375 before tax. I regret it though.

  • @bigdogITbiker Well that was 1998 so things were alot cheaper then hehe. I must ask why do you regret buying it. What dont you like about it? I took it out last weekend and put 75 rounds thru it and I must say its a nice accurate gun. Trigger could use alittle work but other then that great gun.

  • @4thReichProductions back then, my brother just purchased his house, up in the rural areas of minnesota, by brainerd, he talked about buying hand gun, a 357 magnum, any 357, and this ruger was the one at the store, (and the price didn't seem much back then), he took me to the store to pt out the gun, and that got me thinking I should too have a gun, so i bought it, then we shoot about 20 rnds up in his lands back in '98, then my ruger has been sittin' in its case since then, kicking meself since

  • @bigdogITbiker So you dont like shooting it or what? take that baby out and shoot it! :)

  • @4thReichProductions I do enjoy shooting it; but got no job, has college loans debts, shooting can be expensive. I need to re-evaluate my purchasing habits. If this whole situation turns really bad for me down the road, I might need to go live off the land in the wild, and who knows, that piece will come in handy when I and the bears/cougars have an encounter. I have seen many vids here on the "tube" about the US dollar debasing, the new world order, the economy down the toilets, virus.etc,

  • @bigdogITbiker S'why I got meself a 9mm Taurus PT92. At my Wal-Mart, $10.50 a box is galaxies cheaper than $2x.xx for a box of .357 Magnums. It's just not as fun to shoot as the 6-inch GP100.

  • @bigdogITbiker you could probably sell it now and get most your money back, especially if you only put about a box of ammo through it.

  • @4thReichProductions Screw you guys. Because I live in California, mine tore a hole in my wallet. $634.09 grand total. Bloody hell.

  • @4thReichProductions Mine was about $320 @ early 1990's. (3" satin)

  • Don't know if this has been mentioned and I am far from an expert but I think for a better grip you should try to grip the gun (try to picture) with your main hand with your thumb up like a thumbs up, then bring wrap your support hands and place your fleshy part of your thumb on your hand to fill the gap and then have your right thumb over your left instead of the other way around. Also when shooting SA you should use your support hand thumb to cock the hammer so as to not break your grip.

  • @mixwell1983 I like the technique you mentioned when I'm shooting SA pistols. When it comes to revolvers, I don't know why its more comfy with all fingers wrapped...

  • @Abomb520 - Ahh gotcha. The only revolver I have is a little .22 colt single action army so I don't shoot revolvers too often but I still try to use the thumbs forward grip however I kinda curl up my support thumb so those gases coming out near the cylinder doesn't burn my hand.. All in all nice gun. I'm thinkin a .357 for my next handgun and I'm really liking the gp100 for the price or possibly a taurus but I never see them on sale so ya.

  • Bought a 6 inch model this year and I love it. Almost bought a Taurus instead for 100 dollars less but the Ruger is made in the U.S.A. If American's don't support America who will?

  • @ruger338magnum well said good sir. And a fine choice too! I've shot both. Rugers revolvers (in my opinion) are smoother and the trigger seems to function smoother as well. plus, its a handsome gun. And hell yeah, its made in America.

  • More like hole in teh ceiling shooting range

  • @Horn0816 you can blame law enforcement on that

  • @Abomb520 ha ha!

  • if i could have only one gun, gp 100 4" nuf said

  • Well all I can say about this gun is "I own one".

    How is that for endorsement.

Shoot some .38's through it and they are like .22's

  • @frankgon4 lol, after shooting 357 loads through the beast, shooting .38's does seem rather, whats the word.... not as satisfying. lol, but still fun to shoot.

  • @Abomb520 like kissing your sister?

  • @pete5668 I don't get it...

  • @Abomb520 After shooting .357, shooting .38 is like kissing your sister. Shooting .357 would be like kissing a hot woman.

  • @pete5668 oh haha. lol, good analogy.

  • @pete5668 Oh yeah! If anyone kisses my sister, it's gonna be me!

  • @pete5668 actually, a person with a .357 magnum can kiss anyone he or she wants!

  • enter the vortez wohoowowowowow! lol nice shooting

  • @slay4you lol, thanks

  • french creak outfitters?

  • @Smethjt05 ?

  • Nice shooting! This is my first pick for a DA Revolver. You have a great piece of craftsmanship in that gun.

After buying my Ruger New Vaquero I regret not getting a long barrel because I cannot shoot groups as well as you do with those six inches of barrel.

But darn is that 4" fast out of the leather!

  • @blah1752 thanks. I was looking at those vaqueros at my local gun store yesterday. they look and handle sweet! I love the old school western look. I might consider very soon. I could see what you mean about the grouping though. thanks for watching.

  • @Abomb520 You picked a good choice of weaponry, I love this gun, I've owned this gun now for about a few months, I was at the range yesterday and It was center mass all day.

  • @Mr291229 and it shall remain center mass for all its life. lol. accurate as hell. thanks for watching

  • Just bought this exact gun. Haven't shot it yet. Just playing with it a lot.

  • @dadoody lol, it's fun isn't it? lemme know what you think when you do get the chance.

  • Got a 3" SP101, but really want to add an 6" GP100, looks like a blast.

  • thanks for the video!!!! I was shopping for a good home defense gun. Now i know that I want a Ruger GP100. I'm going to get the all black one. Nice shooting!!! Can't wait till I get mines!!!!

  • @gentlemonsterkennels you're very welcome. hope you get it soon!

  • @boxant its only slightly larger, the frame is considered a "medium" as opposed to the sp101's small frame. I've always wanted the sp101, the 3" to be exact too!

  • In a 3 or 4-inch barrel version, the GP100 makes a great CCW weapon, using the Hoffner's Miurage Ultimate Revolver Holster. That holster keeps the cylinder above belt-line, and lets only the barrel go IWB. FAR more comfortable than having a Glock/1911 slide IWB believe me!

Teamed with a couple of Bianchi speed-strip reloads, it makes for a compact easy to carry and take off CCW.

Beats any auto pistol I've ever tried to hide for CCW. And all with legendary 357 Mag stopping power!

  • @coltperc I've always wanted the smaller version, it's like a mini cannon in your hand. I've never shot Bianchi ammo, but you seem pretty confident with their fire power, so I bet they are sweet. thanks for watching.

  • @Abomb520 no that isnt what he is talking about. a speed strip is a plastic strip that holds the number of bullets that go in the cylinder in the strip and you load the cylinder with the bullets in the strip

  • @coltperc I agree.

  • @coltperc Interesting statement I have to agree I have to GP-100 357 4' barrel and it's my CCW I carry everyday, what an awesome gun and reliable it's beyond that, I'm semi atuo fan but semi is something u have constantly keep clean or it'll jam/failure to feed. One thing I can say about the revolvers they always work and low maintenance.

  • @coltperc Ruger's SP101 is actually a little better for CCW because there's no hammer spur that could get caught on you clothing. But I suppose that all depends on how you carry concealed. I've tried every way possible to carry the 4-inch GP100 concealed and the only way I could draw it fast enough was when I cut the spur off the hammer and smoothened and polished the little sucker out.

  • yes, the perfect home defense gun imo. I'd stoke it with the federal 158 hydra loads and never look back. FBI can't be wrong about the best manstoper ever. Great gun, it's at the top of my list.

  • @NoiseMostBeautiful couldn't have said it better my friend. thanks for watching.

  • nice shooting u rock keep it up

  • @alex99349 hey there alex. thanks for watching.

  • Nice shootin!

    I have the 4" GP.

    WON'T Sleep w/o it!

    Packed with good 'ol Car-Bons!

Never shot the 6", fucker bucks like a "Nutless-Mule"!

  • @75mm lol, nutless-mule. The 4" is the perfect size for me, just haven't come across a good deal yet. thanks for watching, and sorry for the late comment.

  • that hammer looks different than mine.i have the exact same model.has it been swapped out?

  • @308scoutrfl It was bought off a former marine, they guy was a way older man, he had this for a number of years so I'm not sure if he did anything to it. He said that for many years it is what he kept under his mattress while he slept...

  • Perfect $ 500.00 home defense gun.

  • I own several autoloaders, but the next gun I buy will be this exact revolver. Ruger GP100 - 6 in barrel. Beautiful piece.

  • it's really cool, although I don't fancy the factory grip it comes with... no problem though.

  • Shouldn't need speedloaders,

(Comin from somone who carries 'em) LOL

158s' go clean through both doors of a 77 T-Bird!

  • This is what i carry when I'm backpacking. I load it up with some Double Tap 200 grain hard-cast lead bullets. they go through just about anything. as long as you aren't in Alaska, this gun can take down just about anything out there.

  • great choice. dang, 200 grain. thats crazy. I'd like to try those someday... thanks for watching

  • is this in mcallen? does your cousin have a 4 wheeler because i think i know him?

  • most problems we deal with are hammer jumps (when you cock it and pull the trigger the hammer feels like it jumps) or cylinder recycles (meens the cylinder will rotate the wrong direction) thats because of the latch not dropping soon enough.....so all in all man you should be good ruger guns are inspected pretty hard through us builders the inspector and QA

  • no not many problems like that at all man at least with ruger guns....most problems with not firing is a timing issue...what strikes the bullet in a ruger double action revolver is the end of the button so if the latch or the pawl witch is what turns the cylinder is not the right size it will cause it to fire in between chambers...but like i said rugers dont usually have these problems

  • I looked this company up because I was curious. I think the combat revolver looks sexy.

  • @Abomb520 Korth Revolvers do look like fine guns but they are way over priced . No way would I ever pay $6000 for a revolver.

  • oops, I accidentally removed your first comment. but damn, $6000? yeah... a little out of my price range.

  • i build the ruger double actions here in newport, nh any problems just ask....

  • cool man, I'll keep that in mind. thanks for watching.

  • no problem, hows your gun shootin for you?

  • @moss33 I have question. I have had problems with both my Taurus and S&W revolvers not hitting the primer hard enough to set it off. Have you seen any problems like this with Ruger GP100s? So far my GP100 has been flawless I hope it does not have the same problem in the future.

  • I own a S&W 500 and sometimes I have the same problem. If you're reloading your own ammo like me and that ammo uses magnum primers you will get some failure here and there. There's a solution around that. MidwayUsa have an aftermarket firing pin (50% more larger that original one) that will solve your problem. I hope this help.

  • That 6" is a beast! Love that model.

  • yes sir it is. thanks for watching!

  • I love a nice wheel gun. I carry Glocks but my S&W 686 is the love of my life! I want a 6" GP100 too.

  • really? he left? great. I guess runnin' his mouth is all that poor sap did. probably felt stupid. yeah man, hold on to yours forever. these are the REAL DEAL. thanks for sharing, and watching!

  • Hey iamthesuprememonkey I have a 4 inch SS D/A and love that model, what bb gun do you have jack ass, instead of bad mouthing people behind your sreen, why don`t you make a video tough man, nice vid btw

  • thanks for watching tnc. yeah man, I agree with you. I don't know what this chump is talking about... whatever.

  • Rugers are for white trash that can't afford real guns because they spend so much money on beer, cigarettes, and nascar shit.

  • real guns? well, ok... I guess. I wonder where you heard that from...anyway, you are right about the beer and cigarettes, but I'm not really a nascar fan... too many left turns. thanks for watching.

  • @iamthesupremeone what the hell are you talking about ? a ruger is one of the most well made brands out there.

  • that is a real gun dumbass

  • beautiful gun. i have the 4" model....damn, your range looks like an old prison cell dude.

  • yep I´ve got the 6inch stainless model ;-)

  • Good vid now go clean that ruger.

I dont worry bout buy ammo, i reload my own. SO much cheaper and very simple

  • lol, you're right about that. . Take care of your gun, and it will take care of you, I always say. I've been getting interested in reloading as well, what kit do you use? And if you have time, what do you recommend for someone new to reloading use ?

  • When I go to my dads next time I will take some picks. I dnot have a machine, i reload by hand and a few small tools.

  • Its hard and getting harder. thats the bad thing, Im never selling any of my arms, they're more precious to me than money. also, i did some rumaging through my gun safe and found a pistol, its a ruger P91DC .40cal i dont know if ive ever even fired it. do you know anything about this gun

  • yeah, its only made in 40 cal. The ''DC'' models, which stood for decocker, had a decocking safety in place of the manual safety. Too bad its discontinued though, beefy and all aluminum frame, must be nice... lucccky...

  • Raise your hand if Obama made you buy a gun or munition

  • Raise your hand if this fucking economy has made you incapable of buying desired gun or munition...*hand*

    Love the gun, btw.

  • *Raises hand*

unfortunatly this is true for me as well, but being as im 18 im not allowed to buy handgun munition, and i already have too much 762x39 and 30-06 so i guess shot gun ammos my next goal. I like buying ammo, its more calming than smoking cigarettes.

  • Lets hope handgun ammo isn't like $1000 per 50rnds by the time you are 21. lol. jk. Personally, I think that the magnum rounds and 410 shells are what I saw getting noticeably pricey. Well, the 45's too. But to me, the 9mm, 32acp, 380acp and all 22's seem to be around the same price. as they have been... Well, to be honest, I'm new to 22 ammo, so I guess I cant price talk much about that...

  • Im from maryland, and in fredricksberg where my sister lives its 37 bucks for a 20 pack of 3006 here in joppa its 17 dollars. i guess im lucky

  • u sure are, that's a $20 difference!

  • Unfortunatly yes.

My sisters bf took me to the biggest gun store in the area, and EVERY HAND GUN was on no less than a five month back order. seriously its insane up there and they can get away with it because people sleep with thier guns. When i turned 18 i was givin a Ruger GP100 for my birthday. you cant even buy the damn thing now because thier all backordered.

  • I wish I got a gun on my birthday like that. I had to buy my own. It was pretty quick though, purchased the gun and went out to try it all within an hour. Lol, I just heard an ad this morning on the radio about a huge gun sale at this really cool local gun store called GlickTwins. I just can't believe how hard it is to get a handgun where you live. that's insane. never sell that Ruger!!!

  • I brought one today nice vid!

  • wise choice my friend.

  • An excellent revolver that is built like a tank! I've got the same one ur shooting.

  • you are right about that, it is built like a tank! thanks for watching.

  • you dont NEED to pull the hammer every time...do you? gp100 is double action right?

  • yeah no worries man, it goes both ways.

  • Yeah, it's double action so you don't have to cock the hammer, but if you want maximum accuracy you will. A long-heavy trigger pull certainly won't help accuracy. I think basically everyone fires in single action mode unless it's a timed competition or a fight for your life.

  • thanks man. you are dead on about the CCI blazers. there was a mix of the two calibers that day, but I thought the .357 footage looked real neat. thanks for watching.

  • GREAT gun. I have the same one. Need to take it out and shoot it...been a while. Looked like you were shootin 357 ammo from the recoil (CCI Blazer aluminum??)--why not just shoot 38s instead? Its a little cheaper!

    anyway-nice video

  • I just got one and was wondering what to use to clean the powder residue off of the stainless ? tried hopps got some but not all off

  • I just use break free formulas. they seem to do the trick just fine.

  • the Winchester break free bottle works for me.

  • Looks and performs great! Thinking of purchasing this one for my collection!

  • its a medium sized frame. If you are looking for something big, but not huge. I think its a nice size, not for carry though, of course.

  • Friggin' Awesome

  • Tough looking gun, I know that 357 is a hard hitting round.
