  • Name any movie and he can find it for me???

I have that no matter what I can't find.

  • What they call piracy, we call freedom.

  • PPL IN 11 CAN WATCH ALL ASIAN AMERICAN JAP CARTOON FOR FREE ONLINE THIS DRIVE COMPANY CRAZY

  • And there is something wrong with driving media Mongols nuts??? LoL

  • Mega Says:

"I feel I'm in a time machine watching this shit!"

  • it takes 15 minutes to dl now

  • those kids should be arrested.

  • I'm assuming he got raided right after this video aired lol

  • The kid with the spiked hair is a loser.

  • I was one of the first people I knew to get highspeed internet back in 1999 or so. My brother was burning cd's for people and getting paid. I was their age then

  • I'd pay for movies and songs but not a dollar each song but maybe a dollar each movie

  • lol I watch movies for free, and all my songs on my iPod I ogt for free :-)

  • Wow How long was this before or After John Stossel did his version od Freeloaders.

  • Ah ha! So this all boils down to the evil "man in malaysia"!

  • its funny how these big multi million dollar producers spend millions of dollars on a campaign to convince you their fair and moral when their some of the most greedy and corrupt people on earth.

  • i watched this while downloading the new Medal Of Honor.

  • "driving the owners of television networks nuts" This is why google and the CIA want to shut the internet down and start a regulated "internet 2" Because the tv network guys arent making money off you watching youtube. I wonder of they found the the "man in Malaysia"?

  • You all at nightline need to pull your heads out of your ass so you can see what is really going on. WAKE THE F... UP PEOPLE.NEW WORLD ORDER IS UPON US AND COMMING FOR ALL. Get a clue.

  • Hulu

  • It's amazing to me. I play guitar for a living in the industry in Nashville. The industry has been destroyed by illegal downloading. Granted the youth that Nashville is putting out to the world ie.. Taylor Swift, Kelli Pickler isn't even worth the time to illegally download but still.... I think that they should get a job and not get paid either.

  • @SuperGuitarman69 live with it

the car destroyed the horse buggy

the internet will destroy many things

  • lol, those damn Californians....

  • Whatching movies when they are in the theaters is stupid, instead go with a girl or a good friend.

  • lol, it is nice to see the "old days," now its incredibly sophisticated and simple at the time.

  • the thing is once we have money we are more prone to pay for it without the hassel of finding it online. hulu has helped a lot too.

make it easy, make a profit

  • things have changed alot since this aired

  • Sure, these kids can get whatever you want on a computer, spending HOURS upon HOURS inside, like lambs following all the mind numbing media designed to keep us occupied & stupid.

He can find anything on a computer but can he change a flat tire? In an emergency, could he build and shelter or keep himself warm and fed? He can text message, but seriously, can he even swim?

Point is, when the electricity goes out hes probably a helpless mommas boy that couldn't find his way out of a cardboard box

  • If movie theaters didnt charge 15.00 bucks for a movie they would probably not have this problem. Its like this would you rather have 100 bucks from ten people or a dime for a million people. Most records suck! They might have but 2 good songs on the whole cd, but they still want 25 bucks for the entire cd. I really wonder whos ripping off who.

  • I have no problem with this. The music, game, and video industry makes to much money. In my view its just giving billion airs a pop in the eye.

  • from what I understand its "Sharring" in order to download something you in turn must also share something that you own. When I was a kid this was commonplace. I'd have the new Van Halen album and my friend would have the new Scorpions album and we would borrow from eachother and "share". The internet has simply made this process much easier and faster! It wasn't illeagal when I was young and as far as I can see it shouldn't be now either!

  • And so we reap what we sow. Repeatedly tell people there is no such thing as right and wrong, and before long, they'll act like it. If I found my child stealing media like that, I'd destroy their pirated collection and take away their computer. Make whatever excuse you'd like, but taking someone's work for free is stealing, plain and simple. Now that this story is 8 years old, I wonder how these geniuses would like it if their company of employment stopped paying them for their labors.

  • Most of these kids probably believe in right and wrong in general. Although, they probably say that what they are doing is different from stealing a t-shirt from a clothing store and not wrong. Some of them might even say that they think it is wrong, but that they do it anyway.

  • Lol, you sound like one of those parrent who barely can use a computer and now your talking about destroying pirate collections lol

  • Actually, I'm an engineer who uses CAD modeling software on a daily basis, as well as write macros in Visual Basic. No offense, but you might want to ask some questions about a person before you start attacking them.

  • "I wonder how these geniuses would like it if their company of employment stopped paying them for their labors. "

Flawed analogy - at a job like that you get paid for what you do, not necessarily for one thing you do over and over. If I decided I liked somethng I did at work, and wanted to get paid for it over and over again without doing the work again and again of course I wouldn't get paid and probably get fired because *duh* that's how real jobs work!

  • Partly true, to be sure, but I model a variety of parts, and the work, while different for each, is similar. If these people are technical professionals now, they're being paid for their intellects and the intellectual content of their work, very similar to films/music. I wasn't referring to jobs at McD's or wherever some of these teens would have had jobs at the time of the filming, I was referring to their state of employment now.

  • Thank God for the internet... but our economic suffer.. huhuhuhu

  • 3 hours for a download? Technology in the year 2000 sucked!

  • yeah too right. takes me 15minutes which is even quicker than going to blockeymabusters

  • "These kids go to one of those special high schools where kids know computers."

What in the blue hell does that mean? What kind of run down ghetto high school doesn't have computers?

  • Agree!

  • depends on where you live a lot of the towns near where my ex lived were poor mountain towns and they didn't have many computers at the schools. hard working people though i will give them that.

  • Damn, pre-torrent media distribution was tedious. :S

  • If i'm paying a copyright fee then i'm dowloading movies and music

  • "Do you speak Malaysian?" What a putz.

  • the reporter is a complete moron.

  • 3 hours to download a movie? that just screamed 90s internet speed.

nowadays you can get one in as little as 5 minutes on SCT

  • hahaha...

  • Is it just me, or is this correspondent a complete moron?

Even for his age, and even for it being 7 years ago...

Kid: "This is a Malaysian VCD site."

    Geezer: "A what?"

    Kid:"Malaysian...VCD site...VCDs are--"

    Geezer:"Whatdya mean 'Malaysian'?"

(kid opens video file from hard drive):

Old geezer: "WOW! BOOM! You can have em whenever you want em!"

    gee. Thank you, John Madden.

  • lol it wasn't just you.

  • hahhah...that was a john madden comment

  • I love how they make a noob downloader seem pro. It's not malay, it's Chinese subs.

  • It's not Malay, it's MAY-LAY. It's right next to Thigh-land. Can'tcha read?

  • Nobody ever handed me anything for being born a caucasoid. Neither of my parents even went to high school but they taught me the timeless value of hard work, best exemplified by my achievement of being born in a log cabin built with my own two hands. Let's see some other sonofabitch ever match that regardless of their assigned race. And the cabin still stands proudly today.

  • lol I'm watching this program for free.

  • This.

  • @SLCThunk I'm paying for the internet providers and the electricity to run this computer so it's not free to me. however I am watching a show that is payed for by advertisers and therefore it's virtually free.

  • I NEVER pay for music unless I go to a concert. THANK GOD for free music and movie downloads over the internet. It's truly the music and movie industries fault for charging people $20 and up for movies and music. I smile every time I see a record store close knowing how much money they've taken from me when I was younger before I could get my good for free.

  • Shoplifting art that people worked very hard to make at great cost...yeah, reeeal hip...NOT!

  • The people who are working at great cost are the studios, who have millions. Artists get money for getting famous, having their music played. The majority of downloads would be from people who are famous, not your struggling musician working his arse off in your bar.

  • Many low-budget filmmakers spend years making a movie then it gets downloaded or otherwise ripped off by many people for free. Most people don't understand that indies are not fat cat H'wood studios. There are thousands of women who are better singers & dancers than Britney, she is just what got packaged and sold to thew masses. Stealing her jive crap is very diffferent than indie artist's work.

  • Online distribution should be an indie musician/filmmaker's dream. With proper publicity/marketing, an artist stands to reach far more people than a limited release in obscure art houses or local clubs. Maximum exposure with minimal costs. Studios or major labels then become obsolete, as the only middleman involved is a webmaster. Don't think the major entertainment people don't see this as a threat, thus the endless RIAA/MPAA lawsuits.

  • wtf?? maelay? XD

and thats not malay, its chinese. he needs to get a clue

  • hahaha....IT'S ALL ABOUT THE BENJERMANS! How ironic!

  • WAR on hollywood! Fuck the actors. they are paid to much! Rip the fuck out of dvd's. Cant get pass the copy protection. Get hd dvd decrypter. Rip the movies to your hard drive and then get Nero and burn them off! Fuck Hollywood!

  • How about the cooks that cater the entire crew on a set, the carpenters and electricians that build sets, camera men, drivers, prop masters, accountants, secretaries, truck drivers, retail workers, etc... these are a few of the millions of jobs tied into the entertainment biz, all who make a living wage not millions of dollars. If you pirate you take money that is rightfully theirs and are no better than a burglar or a mugger ergo: a thief in the night.

  • I agree. Most of the film crew is underpaid so that the fat cat actors & producers can be over-paid. The grips & PAs deserve a little of the box office receipts.

  • And they still make alot :P

  • And this is how we ended the our freeload...I wonder if this guy got caught and arrested.

I hope so cause he ruined my download.

    Laters!~

  • Internet Piracy is cutting out the middle-man, its the free market that made those rich fuckers all their money...and now they are losing it, and they are mad...rich, white, powerful, men...FUCK EM'

    <dot> thepiratebay <org>

  • Jews, mind you.

  • Piracy cuts out the middle man? That would mean you pay the artists directly for the music or movie. It's theft! Just because you can steal art doesn't mean you should...loser!

  • Bands still make money by having concerts that people, who may "steal" music, still go to. Movie stars would still get by as influential celebrities if no one paid for their movies.

The people losing out are the distributors. They are selling physical discs, knowing that mp3s are easier to acquire and transport. They are fighting against the technology, which is a losing battle.

It's not the same as stealing food from a store, since after you "steal" a song, the owner also retains it.

  • Really brilliant theory, loco!

  • It might be nit picky but the subtitles shown on The Gift (time: 6.07) were in chinese not in malay (or maylay as the guy prounounced it...lol!). Sorry just had to point that out!

  • they keep their money to spend on something worthy...

  • copyrights are bullshit. copyright is bad. shakespeare and moliere copied their plays and nobody said something wrong about them pissing on copyrights...

  • gotcha, i was drunk when wrote that xD

  • LOL, I remember watching this segment... great stuff thanks for the upload... what is the original recording date? I recon 99 or 2000?

  • I put it in the video info, I don't know if it's possible to view that publicly or not.

Regardless, the recording date was February 9, 2001
