I listened to this a long time ago And loved it. Forgot about it. Then remembered it but I could not find it so I forgot about it again. And then I remembered it and saved it!
I don't see how 27 people can dislike this, well, I guess it's just as Phacia said to Royce in the game: "Don't you feel the power of this song? If this song doesn't warm your heart, Royce, it is because yours is already dead."
I got this game for my 12th birthday many years ago. I'm 26, and I still have this song on my iPod. I thought--and still do think--this is one of the most magical songs I've ever heard.
Right now I am playing this and the story is just a drag, the transitions take too long and I get bored with the large number of monsters that are in my way that serve no purpose in my development because of how little I get from them. The main character barely speaks and he has so little personality that I feel everything will get fucked up in the end or I will get a boring ending.
@AntipaladinPedigri Galeon kidnaps her and uses her voice for evil. I wasn't able to save her cuz all of my characters have one hp left and like 2 mp left and I'm stuck on a battle with Nash in Galeon's castle :( The Internet unfortunately doesn't have a lot of info on Lunar...
Yeah if 1UP want to troll they need to try harder, because this song was a piece of art. I have lost all respect for those twats after that article the wrote.
Never played this game before so I'm really interested in playing it. Question: What emulator and what rom version of the game should I download? If anybody can help me I'd gladly appreciate it.
@PunkingSnitches Two options: The best version of the game is "Silver Star Story Complete", the PS1 version. It is the most fun, dramatic and difficult. Most people consider it, stand alone, the best game in the series. (But the ending hints at a major spoiler in Eternal Blue.)
The cannon version is "Lunar: The Silver Star", the original SegaCD version (I'd recommend the "Ages" Emulator for this.) It has the definite best plot, and both versions of Eternal Blue are sequels to this version.
Exactly, who needs realism? It is a fantasy game they cast magical spells, it doesn't matter that there are fireflys lol. They make it a more vibrant colorful world...
@KnTProductions1 I was gonna mention him, but then I remembered he turned bad lol and the part I'm stuck on is where you're battling him in a robotic chicken suit, so for all I know, he could turn good in the end lol
This song is the song that inspired me to sing when I was three years old. Lunar was a brand new game then with stunning graphics lol This game will always be my favorite because it sparked my imagination and the music inspired me in so many ways. Long shall Luna, Alex, Nall, Mia, Ramos, Kyle, and Jessica live on in my mind... Even though I was never able to save Luna OoO
I've played games for over a decade on the PC but I've come to realize I have to grow up and quit games, besides the modern gaming industry has lost all it's soul and imagination, corrupted by greed.
Squaresoft games might have been my niche when I was young but today. There's only 3 RPG's on the PS that's given me unforgettable experiences Grandia, Valkyrie Profile and Lunar!
No exaggerating when I say, Lunar is my favourite game of all-time!
@TheMarine250789 time for you play SUikoden 1 & 2 then! That will inspire you as well! Deep story and perfect music. You've mised that one out sweetie
@TheMarine250789 You don't have to give up games, they can still be a hobby if you really like them. If growing up means completely giving up my games then I am not looking forward to the rest of my life.
Omg! I have been looking for this song for a while now. I remember saving just before this song so I could go back and listen to it. Oddly I haven't heard the song in the longest time. Yet when I was locked up, I spontaneously heard the song in my head and wrote down the words. That was 9 months ago. It gave me hope. It gave me the one mental escape I needed to pull through. So when I got my psp and bought the game, I got a lil pissed it wasn't the same song. Lol
I loved this song when i played it ages ago. They put this song in because they wanted you to like Luna more. They felt you did not get attached to her in the3 sega saturn one. After all she did not stick with you like she did in the ps1 game. And seeing as a good lump of the plots motivations going to save her they wanted you to really want to save her. I had the making of thing way back when. Games now days dont suck you in like this. Heck i cant remember the last character i was attached to.
@omanues I think the last one I was totally attached to, and therefor devastated when she died, was Aerith in FFVII. They just don't have as good storylines anymore.
Games today have lost there sense of wonder. I swear every time I hear this I want to wander off into the wilderness with a sword or something, god this takes me back to my childhood when imagination meant something.
Best scene for one of the best RPG's ever. You have to bare in mind they did this entire sequence on a 32 bit Playstation One back in the 90's, this was ahead of its time. Check out the game if you can, a bit dated by today's standards but still has a solid storyline and battle system.
what i found most beautiful in the world of Lunar was the constant show of Earth as the backdrop 'moon' to their world. just the sight of it is achingly beautiful and the view really puts their far off life in perspective.
This game out of many others like it, was the only one that had me balling like a baby at the end. It's still at the top of my favorite replayable games list.
If there's a game called Super RPG Wars (crossover between rpg characters in many videogames, just like SRW). This moment is like in intermission before going to the next battle.
Hey guys! everybody has been telling me about how great this game is,but I've never had the chance to play it. so i was wondering, which version should i play, the PSX version or the PSP version??
@6RMV play WITHOUT A DOUBT the psx version. is the most close to the original saturn the psp remade had quite a few changed that completely or at least half ruined the game (this song is from the saturn / psx version)
Willing suspension of disbelief allows for any and all fantasy elements. As long as the work uses those fantasy elements in a consistent and moderately believable way, no one has a problem with the idea of dragons or spells. Something from the real world, however, comes with real life expectations attached to it. When those expectations are broken, we notice.
If instead of fireflies it was miniature bioluminescent flying jellyfishes, no one would have any problems.
@RootbeerPirate01 You don't actually want to know. Explaining involves mega-spoilers for this game and its sequel, and both are awesome enough that you really should just play them.
@Ristyo1992 god damn all the people that have upped this comment...Don't you understand? This is the kind of thinking that has killed the fantasy RPG genre that you have all loved... Do you really want REALISM in RPGS? You are why we will never see games like this again.
This is, by far, the most heartbreakingly beautiful song, and possibly one of the greatest stand-alone moments in the history of gaming. I've probably seen this video a thousand times, heard the song a thousand more, and it still gets me a bit misty every single time I hear it, and I can't try to sing along without breaking into tears.
I'm not ashamed to say that hearing this song after all these years brings me to tears. I still regard this game to be the greatest of all time, regardless of genre. For me at least, it fulfilled the escapism dream that I've longed for ever since childhood. Unfortunately though I lived in a not so wealthy family so I had to return the game to blockbuster just before finishing the first cd. Yay for mental scars.
@AnimalCarnage Animal I miss that time, too. Some of the best were Nikki singing "Hey!" in Mana Khemia and Lilia in Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits.
How come chicks don't do that anymore? Just randomly burst into song when they think no one is around. Used to happen all the time back in the long-ago.
When I played Lunar: SSSC, I was mesmorized by it. Even today, it remains one of my favorite games. X-Seed did a great job with Harmony but they should've never messed with the songs.
love the song, love the game. I still remember the anger and such i felt when FF7 got game of the year, and this beautiful RPG/Story got runner up. ^^; Lunar/Lunar 2 will ALWAYS be this girl's most fave RPG. just wish someone would do Lunar 3 and stay true to the series, or do a remake of Lunar: Magic School.
longcat is loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong
let us all join hands and pray for the game designers to one day again be able to create a story as wonderful as emotional and as powerful as this one. Or kingdom hearts...or final fantasy 7-10. or xenogears.
woow I played this game back in high school! awesome storyline! Luna was my favorite character along with Jessica! brings tears to my eyes now that I remember how much I liked this song! along with the La La song, I miss these old good RPGs! This one is a classic!
Ahhh watching this clip making me remember my Yearly tradition where I need to finish the game one time each year, I finished it 11 times in 11 years, guess that'll make my 12, Best RPG ever imo, good memories, can't stop playing it...
Me and my sister played this when we were kids. My dad introduced us to Rgs and convinced my mom it would help our reading haha. My sister dressed up and sang this song in her elementary school like 10 years ago and she made the whole audience cry. I remember I was in like 4th grade and all my friends thought my sister was hot and amazing lol.
Ohhh how i love the Lunar series :) this song really put me in the mood. I liked a girl I was working with back when I was like 19. It always made me think of her and excited to goto work :)
@foxfish69 ah the innocent ignorance of the younger generation... no this is a clip from lunar silver star harmony, a PSP remake of the Lunar: Silver Star Story. It is regarded to quite a few gamers as one of the best games ever made because of its fluid full-motion animated sequences, as well as an extremely well written storyline but most of all extremely simple but addictive gameplay.
Pick it up if you have a PSP, you won't regret it.
This song never made it to the shelves but this song has changed peoples hearts and tears that flow and I have always said A song is one to change the World one note, one Song, One Dream, Allright bye,bye
I listened to this a long time ago And loved it. Forgot about it. Then remembered it but I could not find it so I forgot about it again. And then I remembered it and saved it!

When I played Lunar: SSSC, I was mesmorized by it. Even today, it remains one of my favorite games. X-Seed did a great job with Harmony but they should've never messed with the songs.

I once sang this song to my baby cousin and she fell asleep to it. love this song.
the newer version on PSP stinks. the old one will always be better.

love the song, love the game. I still remember the anger and such i felt when FF7 got game of the year, and this beautiful RPG/Story got runner up. ^^; Lunar/Lunar 2 will ALWAYS be this girl's most fave RPG. just wish someone would do Lunar 3 and stay true to the series, or do a remake of Lunar: Magic School.
azizachan233 1 year ago
There is nothing wrong with the new version. It's just not the song I think of when I want to hear the Boat song. This is.
It be like they made FFVIII for PSP/PS3 and redid 'Eyes on me' or remaking Thriller with new lyrics. It's just not the same song.

God damn... this fucking game made me cry when i was younger and played it...
going through hard time in your life and having these damn songs and the tragic story of this game...
only game i've ever played that did that to me lol

This is weird. It's the type of scene you'd expect from a Disney film, except done with anime characters.

let us all join hands and pray for the game designers to one day again be able to create a story as wonderful as emotional and as powerful as this one. Or kingdom hearts...or final fantasy 7-10. or xenogears.

Haven't heard this song in 10 years, and I still remember it!
Maybe I should play the game again. I still have the game, along with the PS1 memory card with the final battle saved onto it.

foxfish69 1 year ago
@foxfish69 its a song from a a game called lunar
chiori01 1 year ago
@foxfish69 ah the innocent ignorance of the younger generation... no this is a clip from lunar silver star harmony, a PSP remake of the Lunar: Silver Star Story. It is regarded to quite a few gamers as one of the best games ever made because of its fluid full-motion animated sequences, as well as an extremely well written storyline but most of all extremely simple but addictive gameplay.
Pick it up if you have a PSP, you won't regret it.
vyintl 1 year ago
@vyintl incorrect. this would be the clip from silver star story complete, not harmony.
