There is village sessions which is his album of continuum acoustic covers, but nothing from battle studies but there is plenty of high quality acoustic recordings he has done of the songs all over youtube if you look, pretty much the whole ablum if you wanted to put one together yourself.

I just think that the acoustic for some songs in particular don't blend the meaning with the music using acoustic or electric whatever the case. For the most part, especially this song, I disagree that Mayers acoustic covers are better than the original cd versions, not that they aren't fantastic. This song loses a great deal of the "war" in the "warfare" if you get what I mean. There are some things an acoustic guitar just can't do. Perfectly Lonely's intro wouldn't be nearly as amazing had it been a acoustic....in fact it probably would have been disappointing.

The vocal isn't amazing here, although it's not atrocious... I'd say maybe either his voice was beginning to wear out and needed a rest, or he could have been a little ill... I'm only speculating! (I mean, his vocals are always really good live, so there's gotta be a reason!)
