Avett Brothers may have some better written songs but Mumford and Sons just can make any song their because of how much emotion they put into their music and Marcus Mumfords voice is amazing.
even though his voice has gone to hell, bob dylan is still THE folk singer. always great to see musicians performing alongside their hero. its incredible to see the kind of influence that dylan still has, all these years past his prime. a joy to watch how elated these two new bands are to be sharing the stage with a legend ( 7:38 ) my jealousy cannot be put into words
I've been a Bob Dylan fan for all my life and a Mumford and Sons fan for two and a half years. Then this happened. I very nearly died from all the perfection in this video. And then I became an Avett Brothers fan, too ;) Life's been good to me!
Mumford and sons play beautifully but they don't begin to compare to the Avett brothers. Most all of Mumford and sons's songs have the same banjo while the Avetts can play their instruments better and with more diversity.
I agree that Dylan's voice is not as it was in the 60's/70's/80's/90's - every decade it has changed which is great. His his voice has changed to what now sounds like the "old blues performers" He's not as consistant with every song, but he can still deliver a wonderful performance, if you really listen to the phrasing etc !!!

I loved how Dylan found himself gliding to the rhythm and sound and being totally immersed in the moment ... I haven't seen this level of energy in him for some time now. He awkwardly pulled himself in check as the tune raps up in his own little eccentric way ... great to have this on tape!
