the day after kali puja in bengal & diwali in rest of india, there is a govardhan puja celebrated in the 'cow belt' of north india, the land of krishna... devotees lie down in front of approaching cattle who are herded together and forced down the narrow alley so that they walk over the prostrate people, who believe that they will be blessed by the 'holy' cows who walk over them, in the year ahead.
I find it annoying how westerns are given so much attention whenever they are in india, yet when indians go to their part of the world they are called 'SMELLY' indians and are treated as a second class cititzens. These foreigners are the reason why india has such a high number of AIDS and hiv cases.
